What to expect
During your tour you will head toward the countryside north of Amsterdam to arrive at the edge of the river Zaan, where you will visit de Zaanse Schans, a windmill village characterized by green wooden houses. At the turn of the 18th century, this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 working windmills, however, there are only five left today.You will stop in Volendam to enjoy a short walking tour with the guide and hop on the boat to cross the lake. You will also visit the traditional fisherman’s village of Marken, situated on the shores of the former Zuiderzee. Amazing opportunity to tick most of the boxes for traditional Dutch experiences with an enjoyable day out. The pace was a little fast at times- but I understand the need to get multiple tours through the itinerary. The audio guide was not synchronised to the trip, and the recordings kept cutting out

Sarebbe andata meglio se il gruppo del tour completo fosse stato diviso da quello del Tour classico, e se si fosse iniziata l'escursione a metà mattina al posto di mezzogiorno, così da trovare la chiesa di Esami (l'unica cosa da vedere lì) aperta.

We had a wonderful time on the trip - it was a great mix of fun and informative. Diana was knowledgeable and friendly and a special mention to the driver Artemis who helped by unpacking and unfolding the pram at every stop. The day was so well organised. It’s exactly the kind of experience we love.
