What to expect
Vereda do Larano is an awesome hike. This ancient path was used to connect the north and the south of Madeira between Machico and Porto da Cruz.Enjoy superb views over São Lourenço península, Porto Santo Island and Madeira's northeastern coast on a fascinating hike through fields and crops.

De wandeling was erg mooi. Mooie vergezichten langs de kustlijn. Het eerste stuk (ongeveer 1 uur) was alleen klimmen, hierna redelijk vlak tot de picknickplaats. Na de picknickplaats was het ongeveer nog een uurtje met voornamelijk dalen. Erg mooie wandeling, over de kliffen, met mooie uitzichten. Minpuntje was de reis met het minibusje heen en terug. Deze was helemaal volgepropt en het minibusje is gemaakt voor Portugezen, maar elders in Europa zijn de mensen wat langer.

Die Tour war sehr schön und auch für Anfänger gut zu bewältigen. Die Guide hatte einen guten Blick für Risiken (Bspw. Rutschgefahr bei Schlamm). Manchmal hätte ich mir mehr Input/Informationen von der Guide gewünscht. Außerdem war schade, dass es keinen Transfer von/zu meinem (außerhalb Funchal gelegenen) Hotel gab.
