Discover the rich history of Provence during visits to Avignon, Les-Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.In the first part of your tour, you'll climb up to the top of the fortified medieval city walls of Avignon, discovering the city stretching in all its beauty along the Rhone River. Learn about its historical past when the papacy was established in the early 14th century. You'll also enjoy skip-the-line access and follow the guide inside the Pope's Palace, the largest Gothic-styled Palace in Europe. While walking on the cobbled streets to the Place de l'Horloge, find out about the secret of the painted windows. Admire the theatre and the Town Hall topped with its clock tower. Your walking tour will end up with a glass of Cotes du Rhone wine served in a historical place.In the second part of your tour, discover the Roman and medieval architecture with the Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard and the medieval village of Les-Baux-de-Provence. You will visit this UNESCO-classified bridge, also the most amazing and best-preserved piece of Roman aqueduct in Western Europe. Climb up the village of Les-Baux-de-Provence, located upon a rock at 245 meters of altitude. Stroll through its historical centre where you will see the Museum of Santons, the Hotel des Porcelets, Saint Vincent Church and beautiful houses from the 16th century.Before the end of your tour, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town centre of beautiful Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
