Total relaxation awaits on this full day cruise to Saona Island's dazzling shores. First up is a coastal tour of Cotubanama National Park, then you'll stop at a natural pool for a dip before heading to the beach for lunch and free time. Ramon, one of our expert guides, says, ‘Our priority is to protect our pristine environment and all the species that make Saona so special. We were the first country to protect manatees by law, and we have a turtle conservation programme here on the island, too.'After a relaxing cruise over to Saona, the sightseeing can begin in earnest. You'll cruise the shoreline of the Cotubanama National Park while your local guide points out the island wildlife. See the rocks of El Peñón, and then glide through the Catuano channel. Next, it's time to cool off in the azure water of the natural pools, formed by sandbanks in the open sea. The water is such a tempting shade of blue you won't be able to resist.Docking at one of Saona Island's fabulous beaches, you'll step off the boat for some beach time. There's the Caribbean for paddling, soft white sand to dip your toes in, and a volleyball pitch to play on. Or you could take the simplest option and just stretch out in the sun. Pick up by taxi on-time and efficient. Unexplained delay of 1 hour at the port until guide and group from.Punta Cana arrived. Time spent on Saona Island too long. On return boat no life jackets provided.

Was a great day out, Saona Island is so beautiful. Our tour guide Obama was brilliant, catering for everyone’s languages and making sure all day we were enjoying ourselves. The whole day is very long, but that is understandable as picking other guest up from other hotels. The Island is spectacular the water is so clear and the sand is so white. The buffet provided was nice, options for pasta, meat and salad.

The tour guide Rosa or Rosie was very rude. - definitely favoured the Spanish speaking guests compared to English speaking - numerous jokes in Spanish etc Spoke to me rudely on way to bathroom, and never seemed to be enjoying herself. Made us all feel like we were a real issue to her. Saona island is nothing special, pictures show it being more surreal however is not the case. The bbq lunch was exceptional. The boat trip and swim stop was amazing.

The activity and day itself were amazing. The island is beautiful, somewhat busy. We found the lunch wasn't great as we arrived at the end of service. The guide spoke far too much trying to sell the local products, 35minutes repeating the same script was tedious. After a long day, they also made a stop off to a local shop for 40minutes which nobody cared about, this wasn't ideal as we all just wanted to get back to our hotels. Overall, the boats and island were brilliant.

Delivery of the tour was really poor no talk from the guide pointing out interesting facts. Many spoke to the Spanish and in Spanish. The boat staff were brilliant and kept people entertained. Had to wait an hour from being picked up and when waiting nobody could reassure us or tell us where to wait or what to do

Overall we did enjoy this day out, Sanoa is beautiful and well worth visiting! Few areas for improvement; travel time is actually 2+ hours via bus before the boat (which was advertised as 1 hour on the bus not 2+), little disappointing that we did not get to travel via catamaran to Sanoa (although we did get one for the return trip home), felt a little rushed at times, with very little time on the islands itself. Please note, the catamaran does not stop for snorkelling either.

Enjoyed the bbq on the beach and guide and staff was very good, but very long day and beach loses it’s potential as so many people on the beach becomes like the ones at the bottom of hotels around the coast, be wary for the coral that’s rough underfoot in the water too. Overall good value for money and guides very good!

Too many changes on buses coaches etc .. need to at least give a bottle of water when pick up is 7am .. overall the trip was good, island is amazing so worth the trip, but feel the whole day is too long we got back to our hotel (Bahia ) at 7.30pm for only 2hours on the island but a 12 hour day overall.

The Saona Island Highlights Tour was a great experience. The guide provided clear and informative details, making the trip enjoyable and engaging. Really enjoyable trip and gorgeous island. Great to experience the Caribbean Sea (we’re Punta Cana side of the island). States it takes 8 hours, it was actually 13hours!! We were so close to missing our meal reservation at 8pm that night. Be prepared for a long day! Dangerous crossing from boat to boat to get to the shore, as the boats are continuously moving on the water and legs/feet could easily be trapped. No bridge between the two. Apart from that I would highly recommend!

Not quite there yet... The boat Trip was fun and the staff keep your drink topped up. The natural pools are amazing and beautiful. Saona is a let down, all you see is the same a the rest of DR coast and the buffet was a poor standard. Bayahibe is hectic and you can't move for someone trying to scam you or sell you rubbish at inflated prices. Saona was overcrowded and the vendors try and sell you something every 5 minutes. Beware your tour photographers trying to see you photo at $150. 6/10 ratin

A lovely island and I’m sure we would have enjoyed the experience more if we had not been the only English speakers on our tour the rep didn’t speak English but one guide did but we only got translated the essentials and the transfer to the boats was quite chaotic and felt very isolated and feel we missed most of the information Lunch was nice

Overall the trip was worth the money but sadly if it's a wet day it's not an advisable trip,love the speed boat ride and the stop over for a swim but be prepaid to be hounded by a photographer whilst in the water,we did purchase our fotos but only due to it being my birthday but were quite expensive, the catamaran was an experience due to weather being so bad.my birthday was ruined due to the weather

Hello, everyone. It was a good trip to visit Saona island. However, I would not do it again because you spend more time on the go rather than on the island beach. Not enough space here to describe the trip. But the day started at 7:30, minibus->bus, arrived at 10:00 to Bayahibe, boarded catamaran, 2.5h sailing to Soana (30 mins spent swimming in a sand shallow waters not far the the island), 2.5h on the beach. Then back. I think just not enough time to enjoy the island. Many thanks, Rustam.

Amazing tour! From start to finish. Great guides BJ was very funny in making everyone laugh. The rum was flowing everyone was up dancing on the boat! Nice touch of personalised mummajuanna bottle for $20 dollars at the end great gift for someone. Also the gift shop on way home was very affordable compared to the resort gift shops. Amazing tour would do again

It was an excellent trip, and our guide Danny was brilliant, a really fun and energetic guy. The only downside is it’s a lot of swapping transport and it was almost a 13 hour day which is a little heavy! But the island is beautiful, the food amazing, the catamaran cruise is a lot of fun and the swim in the sea is an incredible experience.

Saona island is a must do, beautiful island and scenery. Jonny our tour guide was great also! Be prepared it’s a long day, more like 12 hours than 8 We would have preferred to do speed boat both ways, so we could have had longer at the island - it didn’t feel like enough time to explore. Would 100% recommend and will deffo do this tour again when we return to the dominican

Fab trip, beautiful iland, transfer coach was wet, seats were wet smelt like pee, my clothes were all smelly, buffet didn’t have fish option, we couldn’t eat meat as it wasn’t halal. Id we had some sort it fish and would have been perfect. Apart from these few points we had lovely time, stunning waters

Tour guide Danny was excellent, very entertaining, and made sure to communicate with all members of the tour group in various languages to ensure everyone was included. Speedboat and catamaran were great, and Saona island was lovely. The highlight was the boat docking some distance from the island to allow everyone to have a swim in the sea.

Enjoyed stopping off in the sea before getting to the island. Staff on boat on way back were amazing. Didn't like the constant swapping of boats/buses, not being able to stop and look at starfish and no educational aspects explaining what we were going by or anything about the island as outlined in the description. Constant pressure to tip all the time. No information around what is needed when on the island i.e. cash etc.

The experience was great, smooth running and relaxed. I would definitely recommend it. The down sides were that you are not offered a drink for a few hours which is far from ideal and your own water depletes quickly in the heat. Also, it's a very long day with all the collections and drop offs

The bus was very comfortable for the journey over to Bayahive port, before you get on the boat they will take a picture keep in mind to pose nicely because once you are back at the port they made a sticker and attached it to a bottle of Mamajuana for you to purchase (only if you want to) We went on the catamaran on our to Saona, great atmosphere onboard. They will take pictures of you on the catamaran and then on the natural pool so you can purchase them at the end of your journey if you wish t

The guide ( Alabama) was brilliant very organised and informative, he kept the group together and everything we needed to know. He was helpful getting on/off the boats. The island is beautiful however we were continually hassled by locals wanted to sell things or give a massage. The photographer took some amazing pictures of 2 members of the family, however they were too expensive and so we didn’t buy them. The food was very disappointing I didn’t eat any that all.

The experience itself was amazing and so worth doing. Only one thing is the IMPORTANT INFORMATION needs to be presented sooner than just on the voucher - perhaps in the confirmation email or send a follow up. First time I saw it was while waiting to be picked up so it caused a lot of stress as I did not confirm it the day before. As the pick up was 15 mins late, we were really worried we lost the experience and money. Luckily the driver came, but then why have that requirement in if not needed?

Amazing trip, enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. Was picked up at 7:50am and returned to the hotel literally 12 hours later. The island is absolutely stunning and is worth a visit when you’re in DR. We did change buses and boats a few times, we took a speed boat there and catamaran back. Open bar on the boats and on the island. Buffett lunch with fruit salad. Tour guides were amazing, cannot fault anything. This trip is worth the day out!

Despite a 20-minute late pick-up, the trip from Viva Dominicus Beach was fantastic ( 10 min drive to Port). Macy from TUI and his team were exceptional, keeping the energy high on both the catamaran and speedboat. We even spotted dolphins and swam in crystal-clear waters. The buffet lunch was delicious, and the rum flowed all day. Highly recommend this unforgettable experience with the TUI team!

We enjoyed it all but it could have been improved by more information given about the national park and the ecology of the coastline, particularly on the way back when the motor boat passed the amazing caves. The music, which was quite loud throughout, could have been turned off at this point to listen to some historic and other information about the coastline. A missed opportunity to add something more to the experience. We also dont drink alcohol so it felt like we missed out a little.

A very long day- Mini bus to coach then to a small boat then onto a catamaran - didn’t get a proper speed boat on our return as advertised just a faster boat. The catamaran journey was lovely with amazing views and swim in natural pool was stunning . Don’t like the ‘hard sell’ from the guides. Constantly advertising merchandise taking your photos to sell to you at crazy prices . Stop at the gift shop after was not fun after a hot long day at the beach. Just wanted to get home

The pick up was 45 minutes late and stressful. The minibus driver was unsafe on his mobile phone even changed gear with the wrong hand. Boat trip was very good. Saona was way too busy. There must have been 500 people or more there at the time. It was dirty rubbish everywhere totally spoiled by too many people cashing in.

The island is very beautiful, and our Guide Roberto gave a bit of history about the island which was fascinating. My only criticism is that the food they served for the lunch buffet could do a bit of an upgrade. Not much choice and the bbq meat was really chewy. Apart from that, it was an enjoyable day!

This is the 2nd time we have done this trip and it’s absolutely amazing from start to finish. We had the president as our guide this time and he was absolutely brilliant full of fun and constantly making sure we were all ok so he needs a big thank you. The only thing I think needs improving is the Toilets on the island they were pretty awful

We were picked up on time and became Johnnies familia. Who was one of the best things about this trip. The speedboat out swimming on sandbank the beach the drink the food were top notch. Then the catamaran back. We all loved it and would do it again. It was a day in paradise and we had a ball. Our guide was 5 star and is a credit to tui.

Absolutely loved this trip very good value for money our guide ruben was amazing with our group and speaks 4 languages island is amazing very relaxing a long day of travel but with it for a day out and a brake from your resort I would definitely recommend visiting here if your in the Dominican non stop drinks served wile on the island and boat felt very safe and very well organized they do want $10 for a pineapple drink but worth it for the experience this trip made our holiday for sure 10/10!!

Too long to get to island, boat catamaran then another boat. Only 2.15 hours on the island. Island was a bit disappointing. Overcrowded and beach strewn with rubbish. Buffet food was ok. Fantastic day, guide Danny and driver were brilliant. Our guide was very informative and good fun. Driver was very careful and safe driver , experience on the boats was great fun. Saona Island and the blue lagoon were breathtakingly beautiful. Fabulous day.

The island itself is absolutely stunning! However you are constantly hounded with locals trying to sell you things and to have a massage I ended up having a massage and it was 50 dollars for 15 mins was great but not with the money and they was still trying to sell you the massage again. Needless to say you couldn’t relax as every 5 mins you have somebody infront of you. Take spare clothes as the speed boat lives you dripping wet and then had to sit 2 hours on the coach wet! Food was good!

Overall Soana island is a beautiful place to visit with crystal clear water. However, after 5 hours of travel and not reaching the island is a bit of a joke, we were told 2 hours. Once being offered a drink we were disappointed they only had Coke as refreshments. Also, the food had flies and bugs around. Obviously it’s a tropical island so this may not be helped, the actual island we’re great but the trip felt unorganised.

The Island is beautiful and a must see, if visiting the Dominican. The trip was well organised and we had plenty of time on the Island to explore. The barbeque food was good. There were a lot of transfers to other vehicles as part of this trip (minibus to coach , boat to catamaran, catamaran to small boat, small boat to fast boat, fast boat to small boat, coach to minibus, which was a little vexing but did not spoil the enjoyment of the day.

The boat trip was good the food was terrible and covered with flies ,4 members of our party was ill the next day . The guide told us not to leave anything unattended . We went to a poor part of the beach with broken sun beds . Bought a pina colada for 10 dollars which was grosly overpriced and crawling with insects ,from the guide.

Beautiful island, must visit when in DR. The colours of the sea are unreal. Good service, food and drinks provided. We spent about 3 hours on Saona and a further 30 min swimming in natural shallow pool on the way back. The only note is that there is no life jackets provided on 2hrs catamaran sailing. I think they are generally safe but if that was in Europe, a life jacket would be provided. I think if I knew that before the trip, I wouldn't do this trip as one of us doesn't swim.

Too many different boats and longer on the coach and boats than expected. It stated 8hr trip but 11.5 hrs too long. We enjoyed the sandbank as the weather had improved having cloud and rain on the island.

Our guide, Presedent Danny made the trip a lot of fun, he shared facts and information about the Dominican Repulic and Soanna island and kept a happy mode all the way back to our hotel. The boat trip both ways was good and the food on Soanna Island was some of the best we have eaten. The beach and sea was beautiful and amazing. Wasn’t really anything that would make it better.

Perfect day, great lunch on the island and the travel was as expected. Rum and Coke on the boats and music was great! Photographers on board but no pressure to buy! Really really liked the day, just a long travel from punta cana!

Fantastic day out. The information from tui didn't quite match what happened in the trip, but wasn't an issue. Danny our guide absolutely made our day what it was. He was happy and really knew his history about the Dominican and went the extra mile to ensure we all had a great day ??????, he definitely gets 10/10 for providing a 5 star service

The whole experience was good. From picking us up from the hotel, to the island and the food etc. It was a lovely day. The only thing I would recommend is that you should take mosquito spray with you because we got bitten several times.
