What to expect

Sitting in the shadow of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is a rich tapestry of spice-scented souks, street magicians and steaming food carts. You'll visit top sights such as Jemaa el-Fnaa, the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace. From Agadir, we'll travel to Marrakech by coach. Kick off with a visit to the outside of the architecturally significant Koutoubia Mosque, a medieval masterpiece that's the city's most recognisable landmark. You'll then head to the Bahia Palace - another outstanding example of Islamic art and architecture. After lunch in the opulent surroundings of a riad, you'll visit Ben Youssef Madrasa and then venture into the maze of souks for a guided tour around the medina. As part of this tour, we offer a shopping stop, where you can indulge in the city's vibrant shopping scene. This is an optional stop and can be customized to your preferences.Next up is the pulsating Jemaa el-Fnaa square – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The life and soul of the city, you'll have free time to explore, shop, sample some street food, or just soak up the atmosphere of this bustling area. We round off with a dinner show featuring traditional dance and music. Then there's free time or the chance to explore the nighttime excitement of Jemaa el-Fnaa with your guide.

Excellent

Our Guide Abdel was amazing, he was extremely knowledgeable, he explained everything in at least 3 languages, which takes some doing. He informed through out the day what was happening next and he went above and beyond with everyone on the trip. He made it fun and a long day really enjoyable, he mixed with everyone in the group, chatting and explaining things . I felt very safe and well looked after. If you wanted to have some free time that was given, or stay with Abdel.Wonderful Guide

Excellent

Lovely trip to experience marrekesh. Its a long day but the tour guide was excellent and answered all questions and was very knowledgeable. There is a lot of walking and the majority of the tour is a walking tour so we did about 16000 steps in the day. Both meals are traditional morrocon meals. It was a good experience for the culture and traditions

Great

Great informative guide. Comfortable coach journey. Nice food and restaurants. Would have liked more time to explore Medina and take horse drawn carriage tour to see more of Marrackech, rather than be hurded into a palace with too many other tourists, and then sit for an hour being sold oil, herbs and spices in chemist in the souk. I felt not good use of time. However the guide made the trip worthwhile with his extensive knowledge and humour,

Long day , guide knowledgeable but when giving information he was difficult to hear and there were 48 people on the tour and he had to repeat in English and german. We saw 2 establishments Bahia Palace and Ben Youseff Medresa which were very interesting but guide inaudible. We were subject to 1 hour 20 mins hard sell in a Aragan oil shop which was not appreciated especially had we were left with very little time to shop. 2 food breaks were ok. So overall very little sites for a lot of money

Great

What I didn't need was a half hour hard sell in the apothecary. Selling the same as snake oil miracle cures I had been told about the day before. The heat was brutal, and everyone was ready to go about an hour before we were picked up. Add in food poisoning from one of the restaurants, and not getting back to the hotel until after 1 the next morning, and you can understand the lower score. Loved bits of Marrakech, but not the experience overall

Great

Was good, the sales pitch in the “traditional” herbal pharmacy was rubbish and boring, was same pitch as the trip to taroudant, we walked round the souk maybe a bit much would have been nice to visit a riad or two and maybe some of the gardens. Had a fun day but tbh i would recommend people do the taroudant tour instead as they will get mostly same experience cheaper and a lot shorter, was expectibg to be wowed in marrakesh and was not

Excellent

Firstly, our guide Abdel was exceptional, it is obvious in the way he presents his tour that he thoroughly enjoys his work and aims to give the best experience to his guests. We were a group of 40 and he ensured our individual needs were met giving flexibility on the programme,he was informative and helpful throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, though it is an exceptionally long day in the heat. My only criticism is more variation on the food, as both meals were the same for lunch/dinner.

Really enjoyed seeing Marrakech. Shame we were late being picked up as then it felt rushed, particularly at the first stop. Would have preferred more time to take in sights and for photos/experience (not shopping) Definitely don't need the hard sell at the herb cooperative on every trip. If that was meant to be optional certainly not given an option.

The tour was for too long with hardly any of our own time to explore Marrakesh which was a real shame. The guide was full of knowledge but far too over bearing not letting us explore by ourselves, we were with the whole group including meal times which again was far too much. I was disappointed we didn’t walk around The Koutobia Mosque and too much time spent in the Palace /local restaurants and The chemist!!! Out of a very long day we had 55 minutes of free time.

Great

The tour is very long - it was 17 hours from our hotel, and the quality of the food was a bit average. There were plenty of toilet stops, which was good, but the drinks should have been included with the meals, it's not a lot of money and saves guests hassle, just make it soft drinks even. Having one language would be far better, we had three, so thee guide was constantly talking, and most of the time we had no idea what he was saying. This is no reflection on the guide - he was very good.

Excellent

Excellent tour - a long day but well worth it. There was a lot of walking (over 16500 steps) which would not be suitable for persons with mobility problems but at least there were plenty of breaks! The city is noisy, busy, chaotic but has so much life and character especially in the main square and in the alleyways of the souk. In places it’s like stepping back 500 years! The guide was brilliant - very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and spoke excellent English and German.

A very long day. We left Taghazout Bay at 6 in the morning and didnt get back until after 1 o’clock the next morning. We were exhausted. The lunch and dinner was very poor that was provided. We were also at lunch for nearly two hours which was a wasted opportunity. Lunch was bread with salad, a large plate of meatballs mixed with egg to share between 8 and a pastry pudding. The places we did visit was interesting but too large a group to hear anything from our guide. Abdul was a nice guide

Great

We liked having a guide, however it was a very large group of people and we struggled to listen to anything that was said, also, felt hard to keep up when the tour was given in 3 languages at the same time. Bus was clean but very hot. Restaurants were very nice but would have been nice to be prepared to pay for drinks as when reading that meals were included we assumed that was the drinks too (soft drinks/water) Journey was very long - as long as the actual tour (7hrs drive return)

Great

We saw a lot of the city centre walking through the narrow streets and busy souks and visited Bahia Palace and the renovated Old Madrassa. It was a very long, 18 hour, exhausting day. Liked both the calm restaurants, but main meal was the same beef tagine! Would like to have gone into the Koutoubiyya courtyard but we didn't. It would have been useful to have a tourist map as we had no idea where we were as we rushed around.

Great

The city is amazing and definitely worth a visit. The food was lovely and the square at night is unreal. We felt we definitely needed a tour otherwise we would of easily gotten lost in the maze of shops. Our tour group was very busy, 32 people. We felt this was too many people and sometimes we couldn’t hear the tour guide. We would advise to go for the small group tour as you will get more out of it. Overall the tour guide was lovely and we would recommend visiting the city.

Excellent

Very good tour guide (Hamu) and enjoyable program at a good pace. Nice restaurants. If there was a way to chill after lunchtime for a few hours until the heat is gone (so that we can learn a bit more about the madrassa) and even make the trip a few hours longer (the market just started getting busy at around 7!) it would have been a maximum score! (Note: back to the hotel by midnight is how life is around here anyway!)

Our guide was amazing! Great sense of humour and so helpful and knowledgeable. Perhaps less time spent in the palace and a little more free time in the souk would be better? The meals were in great places but perhaps a greater variation on the food from lunch to dinner? A long day but great to see the square come more alive in the evening.

Great

First of all both myself and Elaine would like to say how wonderful our guide Mohammed was and also the driver Mohammed. We were very well taken care of and the guide was so helpful, knowledgable and friendly. We did feel however due to the length of the day that it would be better to maybe offer two tours. An afternoon one and an evening one. By the time we got back to our hotel we had been out for over 18hours which was a very long and hot day.

Great

The cost was not cheap at £100 for the day trip to Marrakesh. However, the guide was very guide with lots of great information on the coach and around the city. My biggest gripe was having to share a bottle of water at lunch and having to buy it for dinner. The food was included as part of the cost, yet water was not? This seems very tight fisted from TUI especially as it costs so little. Was it to force us to buy expensive drinks? It was also an extremely hot day so it is a health issue also.

Guide was excellent, informative and funny. Felt very safe with him and his helpers. What was disappointing was at no point was the sheer amount of walking mentioned, and that day was actually 17.5 hours long not 8 as led to believe, be warned you do see a lot of animal suffering as well.

A long but enjoyable day. Picked up at 7 back 1 the following morning. 6.5 hours on coach in total. Excellent guide wit lots of knowledge who took time to look after everyone. My only criticism is the size of the group which was much too big. Although extra guides were brought in it just make everything take too long or cramped in when at the attractions.

Rui hotel was extremely good. No real complaints. Your flights are dreadful, and that’s before the current situation with half term. We had long delays going out, not getting into our rooms until 2 am. We had even longer delays coming back. Not even a tui plane. Word had it the plane came from Latvia together with cabin crew. Two tui. Reps served tea which was charged for. What a nice gesture it would have been to give out complimentary tea, in the circumstances! Lack of communication - even your rep in the hotel didn’t know what was going on. That’s twice we’ve been with tui - never again.

Great

We had a fantastic experience, but when we came three years ago in 2019 there was a much smaller group which we preferred, as opposed to the 44 person group in our tour. Everything was safe and was managed well but we feel that had it been a smaller group we may have had more time to look around and spend more time in the medina to buy souvenirs if we wanted. Special mention for Abdel our tour guide, he engaged well and was clearly passionate about his job which made him a pleasure to be around with real enthusiasm for his knowledge about traditional life in Marrakech.

Abdul our guide was superb. Giving us just the right information at the right time. We were the first group since lockdown and so our small and intimate tour of just five people was certainly better than being part of a large group. Suggest small and intimate tours would be a great success as part of the programe.

2 TUI reps told us it would take 2.5 hours to get to Marrakech but takes 4 each way- leaves you around 4 hrs to actually see the city. You go to a spice shop for along and pushy sales pitch. The city is definitely worth visiting but the TUI approach wastes most of a great day. TUI app is misleading
