Fantastic way to see the island - very knowledgeable & friendly guide. Next time, must remember to take a jacket - a lot cooler in the Nuns valley than by the sea!

Our 3rd Tukxi trip this holiday, and each has been good fun. This time we had Lydia as our driver. Lydia was a lovely guide and joined us for a coffee and chat in the Nun’s valley. I put my jacket in the back of the Tukxi but forgot it when we got back to the hotel; Lydia found my jacket and returned it. We loved the freedom and slow pace of the Tukxi tours, which allowed us to see much more than you can in a coach.

The tour surpassed our expectations with the tuk tuk taking us from our hotel out of Funchal and up into the hills at over 1000m with really amazing scenary. The tuk tuk was quite old and rather noisy but that added to the fun.

We liked everything about this. Ride in the Tukxi was fun. It was open topped and we could really enjoy the scenery without having to drive. The views were stunning. The driver was very friendly. His English was excellent and he was very knowledgeable. Excellent.

This was a fantastic experience. The guide was extremely pleasant and knowledgable. Plenty of photo opportunities. Guide gave several alternatives if weather was not going to be good enough to see into the valley. Also offered to drop us off at an alternative to our hotel, for instance in the old town. The only negative was that it was a tight squeeze for three (slightly overweight) people!

The driver pointed out items of interest and even stopped if there were other things not on the itinerary that he thought might be interesting or photogenic. He even asked at the end of the tour whether we wanted to go back to the hotel or be dropped off elsewhere. We chose the town centre so he not only took us there but pointed out what was in the area before dropping us off.

Our guide was very informative, pulling over to the side of the road on occasion to point things out. We made a couple of stops where he gave us 20 minutes or so to ourselves to explore which we really appreciated. On arrival at Nuns Valley we had around 40 minutes to ourselves; our guide recommended a place to eat, a bar to try and suggested local specialities to try. On our return he offered to drop us back in town or at our hotel, whichever we preferred. We really enjoyed the experience.

We had a fabulous trip to the Nuns Valley. Going by Tukxi allowed us to see the stunning scenery and beauty Madeira had to offer - avocado trees, mango trees, chestnuts as well as the aroma of the Eucalyptus trees. What was as impressive as the scenery was our guide Gonzalo who shared so much interesting information about the history, fauna and culture of the island in such a relaxed and friendly manner. This is a 5* trip not to be missed which we highly recommend.

This was a real bucket list experience! Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The route was ideal with three well chosen stops for views/refreshments. Would definitely recommend.
