What to expect
Follow the footpath along Madeira's well-known Levada do Furado from Ribeiro Frio to Portela. Marvel at the interplay of light and shade filtering through the laurel and heather trees on this stunning hiking path.You'll see the trout that swim in the levada make a dash for cover when they sense your approach. As you get closer to Lamaceiros, the view of Porto da Cruz and Eagle Rock far below is something out of this world.
