Stand in the spot where gladiators once clashed swords and battles raged before throngs of spectators as you visit the Colosseum and get access to the arena floor. Afterward, learn what daily life was like in ancient Rome as you walk in the footsteps of everyday citizens among the ruins of the Roman Forum. Meet your guide near the Colosseum, the gigantic arena that drew Romans from all walks of life to watch violent fights between gladiators and beasts. Enter the Colosseum and walk right onto the arena floor—an area not usually accessible to the public—and learn about the harrowing events that took place here for entertainment's sake centuries ago. Spend a full hour exploring the rest of the Colosseum, from the ground floor up to the second tier, where you can see the Roman Forum from a distance before making your way across to Palatine Hill. You'll listen to your guide rebuild ancient Rome from the ground up through captivating stories. Hear tales of war, politics, and betrayal, and get introduced to some of the ancient world's larger-than-life characters as you roam around the markets, roads, and temples where the empire's citizens once lived, played, and prayed.

This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments or wheelchair users

Large bags are not allowed inside the Colosseum as there are no storage facilities

The full names of all participants must be provided at the time of booking and must match the names on the ID/Passport. Name changes are not permitted

Note that for the 9am tour only you'll join a small group of maximum 8 guests for an intimate and personalised journey through time
The Colosseum is subject to occasional closures. If modifications are needed and time permits, the local tour operator will reach out to you prior to your tour. For last-minute closures, modifications may be communicated at the tour starting time

You can not visit Rome without visiting the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. However, we would not recommend the guided tour. We did not get value for money and the audio quality was poor. The tour was too short with little time spent in the Colosseum, the whole tour was rushed. We ended-up going back a second day purchasing our own ticket with little to no queuing and the ticket allowed multiple entries in a 24 Hr period. The guide however, was very knowledgeable and welcoming
