What to expect
You will start your journey on the Gabbi Karniny Bidi " Discover the Salt Lakes" with some of the best views on the Island. From Vlamingh lookout you’ll gain real perspective of what you’ll find beyond the settlement. You will then head on to Lake Baghdad and Head onto the Lakes Boardwalk to experience the illusion of walking on water. You will detour up to the Wadjemup Lighthouse where you will stop for a light refreshment and a moment to enjoy the beautiful view from the highest point on the island, before returning to the trail and heading to the Northern beaches. Prepare to kick off your shoes and paddle in the calm waters of Little Parakeet Bay and then we onto Geordie Bay, Longreach Bay and the Basin, one of the Island’s most popular swimming spots. You finish the hiking tour back at the main settlement, where you are free to enjoy lunch the way you want to before experiencing Rottnest in the afternoon.

What to remember
Distance: 12 km. This hike is a grade Three. It is suitable for families and we recommend a moderate fitness level as some inclines and beach walking is included on this tour
This experience is not suitable for children under 4 years of age
Please remember this is a small-group tour
Choose to add ferry tickets on to your booking, and the partner will take care of the booking. Please contact the partner to arrange this. This includes both the ferry ticket price and Island admission fees for a single day on the island. If you wish to extend your stay with accommodation on the island, you will need to organize overnight ferry tickets. Otherwise, we are meeting at the lawn area on the Island next to the visitor's center
Please remember to bring with you hiking shoes or comfortable trainers, water bottle (at least 1L), sun protection and hat, towel, snorkel and bathers if you want to enjoy an ocean dip post tour
