What to expect
You'll visit a museum that's housed in a historic building of the Arsenal dating from 1656, which served as a warehouse for the Royal Netherlands Navy.You'll explore the museum and its library house, and you'll see one of the most important maritime collections in the world. Dynamic and interactive exhibits will keep you engaged and wanting to explore 500 years of maritime history. Not only that, but you'll get to admire the replica of East Indiaman ship, moored in front of the museum, one of the most popular attractions in the city of Amsterdam.Your visit to the National Maritime Museum will be instructive and inspiring, regardless of your age and background.

Guided tours of the exhibitions animated by a museum guide can be booked in advance. An audio guide for the key pieces of the museum is also offered, free of charge, to visitors
Audio guide is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Korean
To receive the reduced student ticket, students (age 18-99) must show their valid student ID card upon entering
Infants (age 0-3) can enter the museum for free
Museum hours of operation:
Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00am - 5.00pm
The museum is closed on Monday, except for some holidays, from 10.00am - 5.00pm
Museum is always closed on:
King’s Day – 27 April; Christmas Day – 25 December; New Year’s Day – 1 January

Das martime Museum in Hamburg in der Speicherstadt gefällt uns besser.
Dort gibt es mehr Schiffsmodelle und die Konzeption ist gelungener.
Auf dem historischen Schiff im Außenbereich war leider keine Erläuterung über den Audioguide. Die Station war wohl defekt.
