What to expect
Enjoy a funny morning e-bike trip on Remutaka trail with transport and packed lunch included. Depart from Wellington Train Station via shuttle. Start biking with a very gradual incline through native bush. During this trail, you'll explore tunnels with headlights provided and cross bridges.Learn about the old fell railway system through information boards. Reach the summit, where you'll find a grassy plateau perfect for a picnic or cold drink. Know in advance:
Total riding distance is between 18 to 35km
Approximate total riding time 3–4 hours, with a total duration of 6 hours. Shuttle from Cross Creek departs at 2.00pm or Featherston at 2.15pm. You will arrive back to Wellington Station at 3.30pm
At checkout, the height of each rider will be requested
At checkout, choose to take the shuttle to either Te Marua (for a 27-37km, slightly more challenging ride) or Kaitoke (for an 18-28km easy ride)
E-bike includes 27.5 - 29 inch wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, 8-9 speed drivetrain with 3-4 power assist levels, 40-80km per charge, front suspension, rear carrier rack, helmet, repair kit
Remember to bring:
Running shoes or sneakers and shorts or tight-fitting pants, fleece and/or light jacket
A small backpack for personal effects, with a camera, sunglasses and sunscreen
