What to expect
If the Amalfi Coast is a string of pearls, then Capri is its jewelled pendant. This magnet for celebs since the days of Roman emperors is a must-visit. You'll take the ferry over, then head by minibus to Anacapri in the west of the island for some free time before making the trip to Capri town for a walking tour. Lucia, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The church of San Michele in Anacapri is renowned for its majolica-tiled floor depicting scenes of earthly paradise and original sin from the Old Testament, and its beautiful dome. The 17th century Santo Stefano church in Capri town has a striking façade, featuring a series of sculptures and reliefs.'There's often a clutch of A-listers holidaying on this ruggedly beautiful island in the summer months. When you arrive and zigzag up to Anacapri to wander along cobbled alleys of whitewashed houses, you'll see why. It was a very early start to catch the first ferry to avoid crowds which I appreciated. Capri and Anacapri were both great but not as spectacular as I expected. They’re both busy little towns with lots of shops. The guide was Hugo and he was knowledgeable, helpful and organised. This trip would have been much better with a smaller group - 30 people was too many! Also, there were lots of add ons meaning the trip cost more than the price shown. Not sure what was worth the €100

overall an enjoyable day out. No delays and tour guide organised us well. All to time. Low cloud meamt we were advised not to us the cable lift. Transfer bus effectively cancelled (servere delay) due to wedding in sorrento causing gridlock. Recommend.

The cost of the experience only appeared to include ferry/bus travel and tour guide( who really only pointed us in the direction of attractions and helped with purchasing the tickets). He was required for a fulfilling day but the cost of the attractions and lunch doubled the price of the trip. For those who did not participate in the attractions,it meant quite a bit of hanging around in hot, overcrowded areas with few seats. Worth visiting but people should be made aware of additional expenses.

Our guide, Giulia, was very personable & informative, and all transfers - coach, ferry, buses - went very smoothly. We had time on our own to look around, but the time in Ana Capri was quite short having decided to go on the chair lift to the top of the mountain. While that was certainly worth doing (at an additional cost), it was very busy, so meant we only had about 15 minutes at the top before needing to return. The boat trip round the island was excellent, but Capri very busy with tourists!

Great for an introduction to Capri and Anacapri with free time given in both locations to explore. Negative was a boat trip. It was not included in the trip price and was 22 Euros per person. My issue was the boat trip fee not being collected until near the end of the boat trip! Why was it not collected before getting on the boat? Just seemed a sneaky way to entice people onto an additional cost trip that they may not have wanted. Fee needs to be collected at start for full transparency.

From pick up from the hotel to drop off the whole day was exceptional. Roberta our guide kept us informed and answered any questions we asked. The drive up to Ani Capri was memorable and the drivers of the mini buses deserve praise for their driving. The chair lift was so peaceful with only the birds for company and the views at the top were outstanding. The boat trip showed off the island beauty in all its glory. An excellent day trip and well worth the money.

You should offer to prebook the cable car as those that had went to the front of the queue and we waited for 25 mins you need to also ensure the buses from the port to Ana Capri are prompt as we had to wait for 25 mins therefore we lost 50 mins of our trip which was disappointing

Our tour guide Hugo was fantastic! Brilliant day out in Capri, he was the guy in the know and we hardly qued for the chair lift and he recommended a island tour instead of the blue grotto. His insight was paramount. Everything was seamless, a day thourghly enjoyed.

Amazing tour. Highly recommended. Ugo/Hugo was a fantastic guide. Very professional and knowledgeable. Gave helpful tips. We visited Anacapri. My husband and son did the chairlift ride. The other members of our party did the walk with Ugo to the lookout point. There was an optional tour of Villa San Michele. We then visited Capri town and had lunch there (not included in the tour price). Then we went down to the harbour. We went on the optional round the island boat trip which was well worth it.

Pick up very smooth - and early! Guide lovely and kept everyone well informed and in perfect order in such a lovely way. We had just the right amount of time to look around at each stop. We were the only couple from our hotel and the guide sorted our return transport and stayed with us until we were collected. She was great!

Was a great trip, I booked on the app but got some reason the pick up was stated as at the marina. Luckily I rep changed this to our hotel, if it had been at the marina it would have been difficult to find the tour as there were no TUI signs etc anywhere, thanks to Miriam for the help with this. Also tour guide was brilliant, Igo was so passionate and knowledgeable.

Good guide, very knowledgeable and pleasant. As usual lots of waiting and queueing. The outgoing boat was full and we had to stand for the whole journey. Capri island is very interesting and picturesque. The town of Anacapri is worth the trip, recommended restaurant was good food and good value. The walking tour excellent. Too much free time in Capri town. Optional Around the Island boat Trip was excellent and worth the money.

Overall this was an excellent trip but the last place we stopped people had the option to go on a boat tour which left the rest for a few hours which in my opinion was a bit to long to amuse myself until we got the the pick up point for the guide.

The island was beautiful, the chair lift up montesolaro is a must. Capri is a very busy place, and very expensive to eat and drink. Tour would of been better if the return to hotels were organised, that was a shambles, we walked the half hour back and got to hotel same time as bus!

Capri was very busy and we had to wait a while for the shuttle buses to take us from Anacapri to Capri - no one's fault and Ugo was excellent and dealt with the situation the best he could. Boat trip was absolutely fantastic - thanks again Ugo!

Absolutely brilliant trip - ugo was a fantastic tour guide. Definitely recommend the chair lift for 14 euros each and the boat trip around the island into the grottos for 20 euros each was worth every cent Only bad point was all the waiting for shuttles but it was so busy and that can’t be helped by the guides.

Loved this trip!! Got the boat over to Capri, then started at the top - Ana Capri, where you have the chance to go to the top on the chair lift. Then early lunch if you want it. Then a tour of Capri, with the option of a boat trip around the island. This was a long day but so worth it. Just be aware the chair lift, lunch and Boat trip is extra money. We didn't need lunch as we ate breakfast. If you can afford it, the lift and boat trip is so beautiful. Takes you around the stunning grottos. Amaz

Great place to visit but given the cost of the excursion and the additional expense to fully explore the island then it needs to be made clearer that it’s not included in the price. Between the chairlift and boat trip it almost doubled the advertised price plus you have to factor in lunch.

The trip was fantastic. A busy day but you get to see a lot. Anacapri chair lift was great (14 euro ), beautiful views. Anacapri shops are nice. Capri was good to see, lots of designer shops there and little streets and a square. Lots of shops and eateries. The boat ride offered (20 euro) was really good. Took us into little coves and the guide told us about the sights. Ornella was our guide and she was fantastic. Ornella gave us information throughout the day and on the boat tour. Great trip.

Loved the trip, it’s a beautiful place and a good way to see it - our Guide Desiree was very friendly and helpful - it would be a good idea if you are advised about the chair lift at Ana capri & the boat trip around capri in advance - particularly needing cash - euros for the boat trip (it was well worth 20€ each but we did not have cash - the guide very kindly lent us the money). Would advise any one to ensure they have around 80€ each for the chair lift, boat trip, lunch and an ice cream!

Hugo our guide was so knowledgeable about everything to do with Capri.He took my wife and I to a garden at AnnaCapri with fantastic views of Capri ,that was while the other people on the tour was having lunch.Then we all went on a boat trip around Capri which is well worth doing. Fantastic tour glad we booked it through TUI .

We loved this excursion. We visited a few places around the Amalfi Coast during our holiday but Capri was my favourite. Beautiful views everywhere you look. Our guide Karmine was excellent, kept the group organised and entertained and recommended the best things to do. The chair lift in Anacapri was a highlight. Karmine also organised a boat trip for us around the island for an extra cost which was amazing. Definitely recommend.

Overall a very enjoyable day, the chairlift on Anacapri was particularly good, thankfully we missed the large queue which formed later. Capri was very busy and consequently there was a fair amount of waiting around for buses and the ferry. But as stated previously overall it was very enjoyable.

The tour guide was great, she gave us some really interesting information and free time to walk around. Unfortunately, the day we went was rainy and misty, meaning we didn't get the excellent views which are a big part of the trip. Additionally, there was an optional boat trip around the island (very cool) for €20 (weather dependant), but we felt this should have been included in the price. We enjoyed but feel someone with more interest in shopping and celebrity culture would enjoy more.

The trip itself was great. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the area. There was a lot of waiting around however, being at the dock over an hour early each time meant lots of waiting around. The first part of the day we had 2:30 hours to roam around an area that needed no more than 1:30 hour maximum. Then the areas we wanted to explore more we only had 50 minutes! . The end of the day we waited for 1:20 for the transfer back from the dock to the hotel which wasn’t fun.

Very expensive and not good value for money! We were NOT told that we would be expected to pay for additional activities like the chairlift and boat trip...If we had not paid for boat trip then we would have been stuck at the port for 1hr30mins with nothing to do Also, the bus transfer was very, very early and meant we had to wait at the port for 1hr30mins in the morning before the ferry to Capri...This was because TUI had arranged other hotels for the bus to go to afterwards

Picked up from our hotel on time and taken to the ferry. Met by the guide who was very good. Ferry journey around 20 minutes and then we were taken to anacapri by bus. Went on the chairlift which cost extra but well worth it. Had lunch in a restaurant which was recommended by the guide. Lovely boat ride around the island to finish off the day. This was extra too but amazing as we got to see so much more I would recommend this trip if you are in the Naples/ Sorrento area.

Considering the cost and description as a ‘guided walking tour’ - we certainly had high hopes. Unfortunately our guide (Tonino) didn’t really live up to the accolade!! We wandered around both Anacapri and Capri by ourselves. Would have been cheaper to buy our own ferry tickets and paid for a taxi..! Plus on arrival we offered - chair rides/boat trips/gardens/meals all at a cost above what we had already paid - which personally was sufficient!! Do consider your options on this trip….!!!!

A brilliant day on a beautiful island. Hugo was a wonderful guide even when his umbrella malfunctioned and then broke. Hugo was very informative and seemed to know everyone on the island. He took us on a personal tour while everyone went up the chairlift. We had the beautiful Villa San Michelle Gardens to ourselves and had great views and coffee on the roof top terrace. The guide organised everyone very efficiently and clearly explained the different options available. The guide timed the different actvities well so that waiting time was minimal. He was friendly and clearly knew the location well. The only negative was the lunch time restaurant recommended as it was overpriced and the food was uninspiring

Capri and Anacapri are beautiful, well worth the visit even if you're not into designer fashion (we are not). The chairlift costs extra €12pp, the recommended restaurant with set menu €15pp but can go elsewhere and boat ride around the island €20pp. We did both the chair lift and the boat tour, incredible views!! Our guide could have reduced the 'meet points' as we waited 20mins unnecessarily at times and he felt a little rushed (put us on a crowded boat ride) but overall, a great day

This was a great trip which meant we missed a lot of the queues on Capri and in Anacapri. You can choose to go on the chairlift and on a boat trip (these are an extra cost) but can also use this time as free time. We did both and would highly recommend. Tonnino was a great guide and the timings of the trip were great.

We enjoyed the chair lift in Anacapri and also the add-on boat trip around the island. The staff worked very hard to keep everyone together for the hydrofoil trip across from Sorrento, then each part of the day, Anacapri, Capri and Marina Grande coordinating each group with transportation at different stages. Each town was very busy with visitors, but we were given a reasonable amount of time in each to have a look around and stop for refreshments if you wanted.

Ornella was our guide, she was brilliant. The whole day worked like a well oiled machine. She had great knowledge and was able to advise all guests on any queries they had. There’s a lot to see in Capri but we managed to get it all done. The chairlift is a must but do it first the queues were huge when we came back down- the views are well worth the wait. The shops are expensive and they have much the same goods as Sorrento unless you’re looking for designer goods

A great day ! The early start paid off as our time in Capri town and Anacapri was ahead of the crowds . The suggested lunch was excellent value for money and the chair lift to the top is a must . The island is stunning , but Roberta , our guide really made it a fabulous day . She has great knowledge but her fun bubbly personality ensured everyone enjoyed the trip . We took the optional boat trip , though rather expensive , gives you the opportunity to see the island from a different perspective

Our guide met us at port and was with us for the trip to Capri. He (Hugo) was knowledgeable and helpful and a real asset to making the trip memorable and worthwhile. Couldn't fault the day - a great experience.

The boat trip over was ok, fast boat but Capri in late July far too crowded to the point it was not enjoyable. The additional boat trip (€20 each) definitely not worth it. Most of the explanations not in English and boat too big to get close! Not recommended. Preferable to stay on the extremely crowded island.

Enjoyed the experience..... Liked the fact that you have the option to go on the chairlift and the boat trip rather than have it included. Loved the chairlift to the top.. Fantastic views. Also liked the option of visiting the recommended restaurant rather than be forced to eat there... Choice is always a winner. Lovely food and staff though. Guide was friendly and informative.

Trip was good, beautiful place, got to see Capri and Anacapri but lunch is extra, chair lift is extra and we did the boat trip around the island in free time at Capri, that too is extra. Maybe Tui could look at including more for the trip and customers pay accordingly?

Enjoyed every single minute of our holiday experience. Our only problem with the airline was not being told what was going on when our flight was delayed both ends :( the only time we found out was when we was ready to take off by the pilot. Its the not knowing that gets people frustrated waiting at the terminal, just a little announcement would be a great help!

The flight out and home were very good. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food in the hotel did not meet expectations in fact it was the worst we have had in Italy and we are widely traveled throughout Italy over many years with TUI and other operators.

The trip was very well organised with no queues for the ferry. . We arrived early and took a mini bus upto Anacapri. This meant we were there before anyone else and could take the chair lift with no queue-a must do activity. There was also the option of a boat trip which was much appreciated in the heat. Pepe was a really entertaining guide,full of knowledge and stories. At the end of the day we were dropped off at our hotel. A perfect day out.

Capri is very busy. We had a great guide, Pasquale. He was very informative and gave us a great day. He organised the day so we went up to Anacapri early. There was only a short queue for the chairlifts, that’s a ‘must do’. Plenty of time in each stop and the boat trip round Capri was fabulous, commentary by Pasquale.

Tour guide exceptional!!! He took very good care of the entire party throughout. Capri is stunning. Recommend chair lift to the top and the island boat tour but take cash to pay for these items. Guide found a lovely restaurant for us which was well worth the Money and very cheap for Capri.

From pick up to drop off everything was great. The guide was really good, speaking excellent English so we understood what he said. He was approachable and friendly but never lost sight of doing his main job in looking after the group. Excellent day out.

Negatives: Cost on high side compared to other companies. Free time to eat dinner bit too short Positives: guide was fantastic, very informative, knowledgeable. Recommended good things to do whilst on island. Lots of walking at a good pace.
