What to expect
Inject your holiday with a healthy dose of adrenaline-pumping adventure with this dirt buggy tour. Driving your own off-road vehicle, you'll zoom down dusty tracks, trails and up and over rolling sand dunes to discover all the best bits of Boa Vista.Hop in your powerful off-road buggy and after a quick safety briefing, you'll be ready to ride. Set off down Cape Verde's rugged trails and you'll zig-zag your way from the Chaves chimney – the towering smoke stack of an old ceramics factory – and rumble alongside epic views of the Atlantic Ocean.Revving along the coast, you'll take a quick break from the action at the Fatima Church before hopping back in the buggies, ready to ramp things up a notch. Speeding along, you'll power over rolling sand dunes to find the perfect spot for a photo over Sal Rei Bay. Finally, you'll kick up a few more clouds of dust as you head back to base.

I went with my sister, bearing in mind we’re both in our 70s we had a fabulous fabulous time. There’s nothing in Vista and it made us look around the area and enjoy a really really pleasant buggy ride. The guides were excellent they knew what they were doing and everyone felt safe thank you TUI!

So good we did this for the 2nd time during our stay. We had the same guide, Clay, was nicely he recognised us from previous week and in so took us on a different route to allow us to see different sites and drive on different terrain and tracks which was great.. We both lover the experience and if we return in future would be sure to do again.

A little disorganised to start with but I would go with them again. The guides buggy broke down (battery) five minutes along the road. When our buggy got stuck in the dunes he had to go back for a shovel. Why not carry a shovel in every vehicle. Easy fix.

Guide was fantastic. Safety briefing at the beginning, provided with all the necessary safety gear. Stopped to take photos and also for some sight seeing. Great 2 hours spent driving around Boa Vista! Highly recommended ????

Everyone was incredibly friendly and polite, our dune buggy was very well maintained and had no issues, only slight downside was a rather poorly maintained transfer minivan and dirty helmet visors.

On arrival wasn't given a safety briefing was all very rushed and you just had to hope for the best, for example my friends helmet wouldn't fasten and we just felt rushed into the buggy rather than reassured it was fine and they tightened it.

The guides were super friendly, took loads of amazing photos and took us on a great route. There wasn’t much in the way of a briefing and the driving can get quite scary at times so definitely recommended to be an experienced driver. Also googles provided would be helpful as it can be very hard to see in the dust and your eyes can hurt which is a bit dangerous for the driver more than anything. We had sunglasses which helped but if we hadn’t have taken them it would have been a lot worse!

This was a fun experience. I'd initially been apprensive about driving the buggy but it was easy and fun! Our only quibble was the lack of briefing about how to drive or the plan for the tour. We had one stop with a lovely panoramic view but it would have been helpful to know roughly when this would be and how many stops we would be getting. There were no refreshments available even at the end. There were no toilet stops during so it would have been useful to know to use them at the start.

Very unassuming venue which gave the impression of being unprepared and unorganised, BUT once we were in our buggy and heading out WOW what an amazing experience! Highly recommended for those who love speed and adrenaline!! Fantastic way to see the island and explore the dunes. Definitely wear dark clothing as you get covered in dust. Super fun morning, great activity and experience.

Unbelievable Jeff ! If you like off roading and a bit of speed then this is for you ! Buggies go around 55 mph flat out across tarmac, cobbles and along desert like areas. Passing through towns and villages and along the sea front. Great way to see part of the island and the locals as we whizzed by. Couple of great stop off points along the way too which was nice. Don't put on your Sunday best clothes as you come back filthy but it's to be expected and was part of the experience. Excellent ??

A fantastic few hours blasting around the sand dunes and cobbled roads and tracks of the local area. Real wind in your hair thrills. Accompanied by a photographer so you have the option to buy some amazing shots of your day at the end. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this activity. If I could identify one opportunity for improvement it would be a little more emphasis on instruction and safety checks before we set off.

The buggy tour was a great experience, picked up on time and guided really well. Had great fun driving on many surfaces and covering so much ground. Loved the stop half way to take in some scenery and a little break. Tour guide was very friendly and loads of pictures were taken in which you could buy after. Have no bad words to say and the additional bonus of a free bandanna was a plus!

We made our booking using the Tui App, which made it a breeze to select our preferred dates and times while we lounged by the hotel pool. Our transportation was by Mini Bus,Upon arrival, we found the site offering restroom and aspot to purchase refreshments and souvenirs. I liked the tour, but at the end they offered a photo suite for 40 euro that would be sent on afterwards. It did not come and I am out if pocket. Not strictly TUI's liability but I rate this as disreputable and they should not engage with such companies.

Not the trip to do if you want to learn about the island but a fantastic experience if you are looking for an adrenaline boost. We were picked up in a very, very hot and cramped minibus which wasn’t ideal and some people had helmets with visors missing but overall a great trip.

A fast and furious couple of hours, both on and off road.. we had to slow down when the sand was really bumpy but the guide stops every now and then to make sure everyone has caught up (& the photographer is often at the back too). It was a good way to see some of the island too. Overall - quite an adrenaline rush

Good briefing. Scarf included in TUI price. Generally good fun - a bit on the road but mainly off road driving. Easy to use automatic vehicles. Drive time was about 90 mins - another 30 mins would have been great. The TUI price should also have included a drink but we were not offered a drink at any point. We also did the Quad bike trip which was great fun but the buggy just edged it for fun - I think it's a bit more enjoyable for your passenger as they get to sit alongside you.

Overall a really good tour, I think maybe a bit more Info from Tui as to where you go on the tour but it was very good. A great couple of hours out. The buggy’s are excellent. Bumpy and dusty but well worth it. Felt safe and no issues at all.

The afternoon was really good fun, buggy was brilliant and the guide was great. Everyone had a good time and we spent a good 2 hours off road. I would suggest bringing a good fitting face mask to wear under the face covering they give you, sunglasses and a hat as dust goes everywhere.

There was nothing I disliked it was as sold and what I expected staff were very friendly and welcoming. We shared the driving which was good although the forms we were asked to complete said that the designated driver (misspelt on the form) could only drive we asked and added the further license detail. We spent very little time on roads all the rest was on sand or dirt tracks great fun

We could have done with stopping somewhere for a drink maybe? And a toilet stop? And to stop in the fishing port area would have been nice. I thought the tour length was perfect and great that we had a few stops to take in the sights. Would have been nice to have stopped at Sal Rei. People were advising the tour would have been cheaper with other tour operators and that this was the most expensive but using the same company. On the buggy ride their was no guide at the back so being the buggy at the back I got lost twice, the second time me and my 13 year old was left in the middle of the dunes / forest for approx 15 minutes lost.

The staff were helpful ensuring correct helmet size and that equipment is all clean. Had a couple of laps familiarisation of the vehicle before heading off. Went for about 20 mins then had a break, thought we were then going back but was I wrong, we were out for nearly 2 hours in sand dunes, through vegetation lined tracks. We had a fantastic time and well recommended. You do come back covered in dust though

The driver picked us up on time & checked we were going to the correct place. Got to site very helpful staff, everything explained hairnets bandanas and helmets issued. Off we went.. if anyone was left behind they stopped ro wait for them to catch up or came to sort the problem out. Someone burst a tyre, no problem new tyre sorted and off we went again. Stopped off a couple of times to take photos... All in all a great trip.
