What to expect
No visit to New York City is complete without visiting the somber and poignant 9-11 Memorial and Museum. Occupying roughly half of the 16-acre site, the memorial honors the 2,977 lives lost on that fateful day in September 2001. The names of the deceased are inscribed on bronze parapets surrounding the twin memorial pools.The museum is located seven stories below the memorial, at the very foundation of where the Twin Towers once stood. You'll learn about the history of the tragic events through interactive technology, artifacts, historical records, imagery and personal stories as you explore the 110,000 square feet of space.

This year to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks, The National September 11 Memorial and Museum will be hosting multiple private events for the 9/11 Community on Friday, September 10th, and Saturday, September 11, impacting standard hours of operations
You will have to present your tickets for the specific time you booked. Please note you cannot enter before your booked time slot
Please note that all visitors and baggage are subject to security screening. Please limit the amount of items that you bring. No baggage larger than 8”x17”x19” (20x43x48 cm) will be permitted onto the memorial. Items deemed too large or a danger to exhibits are subject to mandatory storage in the cloakroom
The following are prohibited: alcohol; animals (except service animals); demonstrations of any kind; glass bottles; littering; paint; outside food and drinks; recreational wheeled vehicles; smoking; soliciting or leafleting; third-party commercial activities; and weapons and explosives
Wheelchairs, mechanized scooters, other power-driven mobility devices, walkers and strollers can be accommodated
Cell phones must be silenced while visitors are in the Memorial Museum’s exhibition spaces
Personal photography is permitted, but visitors are asked to be mindful and respect the space

Das Museum ist sehr beeindruckend und die Texte auf den Audioguides kurz und prägnant. Würde ich jedem zur Unterstützung empfehlen. In Summe sehr anstrengend, wenn man das Museum komplett durchlaufen möchte. Gute 3h. Die Wartezeit mit den bereits gebuchten Tickets war unter 15 Minuten und der Einlass sehr gut organisiert.

Very well constructed memorial to all those who perished in the 9-11 attacks. The focus is on the people whose lives were cut short and the impact it had on their families, the city of New York, The Pentagon and the USA as a nation. It is a well laid out museum with a clear flow throughout. Physical exhibits dovetail with video footage from the day and the period shortly afterwards. There is little directly about Al Qaida, just enough to explain a bit of the why, which is right. Worth a visit!

The experience was good. Although there were a lot of people on the line to enter the museum, the museum turned out to be so big and roomy that there really was no feel of crowd.
A pleasant thing I noticed, was that everyone was quiet and respectful.
The museum was well done.

Er wordt op een tijdlijn de gebeurtenissen aangegeven Spullen die in het puin gevonden zijn, zijn te bezichtigen en ook overblijfselen van de torens. Foto’s, geluidsopnames kortom zeer aangrijpend en indrukwekkend. Cafeetje in het museum stelt niks voor. Audiotour voor 10 euro was achteraf niet nodig geweest.

I had to change my schedule do to my due to the weathe and my mom' schedule. you were great with the changes, it took longer but got it done. I get there with my mom the staff was wonderful getting a wheelchair and helping us in.

The cashier wanted to know if I wanted to give a donation. I said sure and in my conversation told her my daughter's father did two tours in Iraq after the attacks and gave us a discount! Wasn't expecting it and I teared up!
