What we expect
Hiking through the laurel forests of Garajonay, you almost expect to bump into the crew from Jurassic Park. This guided hike takes you to the heights of Pico del Garajonay, and down into the National Park's ancient tropical forests and evergreen groves.
The heart of La Gomera is so green, moist and primeval it feels like the beginning of time. You'll discover a world known to few on this botany-rich trek. Garajonay National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with hundreds of species of flora and fauna.

The walk was interesting and we had a very good guide. The walk on the road at the end is not good. The stop off at Gran Rey was a waste of time.

The app told us to wait for a bus a Hotel Charco de Conde (which is actually apartments) but we later found it picked up from the Hotel Valle Gran Rey where we were staying! It did not indicate that one should take a packed lunch (although thT may appear obvious) Other excursions indicate this. The walk, though enjoyable is more strenuous than suggested. The guide was very informative and amusing but in the bus we could not hear any information given. Excellent driver too. Just a few tweaks OK

Proper footwear required because the trek is both up and down hill in occasional muddy areas. In addition, walkers should be reasonably fit and mobile.

Parts of it are quite tough if you are not an experienced walker. Our guide was lovely and she spent a lot of time with us translating and answering questions.
