What to expect

A fusion of the familiar and the exotic, Gibraltar is a must-visit. The fun kicks off with a boat trip in the bay to look out for dolphins. Three species – bottlenose, common and striped – are known to live in these waters. Then, back on dry land, we'll head into the town centre, where many British high street chains have outlets, for a mooch around its duty-free shops.

First up, we'll cruise out into the Bay of Gibraltar, where dophins are frequently found. Look out for them leaping alongside the boat, and with luck you'll get to watch them frolicking...

Es musste das Datum geändert werden und es gab den Ausflug dann leider nicht mehr auf deutsch. Außerdem war der Treffpunkt bei einem Hotel, das 20min zu Fuß entfernt ist - das war sehr bedauerlich und vorab leider nicht direkt ersichtlich.

The journey was simple and quick The passport control going in was so stressful as most of us had to be registered, the staff were rude and abrupt. The town itself was ok, once you had done the high street there wasn’t a lot to do. The walk to the harbour was to much for some of the people we had with us.

Was zeer leuk maar een lange dag wat betreft heen en weer rijden.

The tour guide was really good on the bus but once we hit Gibraltar he wasn’t clear. He would sometimes walk off without half the team reacting in us nearly getting lost. The dolphins were amazing, you could see them from the bottom deck a lot better. You could see them swimming close in the water and jumping out of the sea. It was a beautiful experience.

Wij gingen vol enthousiasme met deze excursie mee, maar het was voornamelijk heel veel reizen en telkens wachten. Uiteindelijk hebben we een mooie dolfijnenexcursie gehad maar de rest van de dag was heel matig. Als je van morgens 9 uur tot avonds 18 uur op pad bent voor een dolfijnenexcursie en 1,5 uur shoppen vind ik dat persoonlijk een beetje zonde van je vakantiedag.

Overall a nice time was had apart from the rain all day!! A very good guide with lots of knowledge and the staff on the boat were very accommodating and kept mom’s wheelchair safe (87 years old) A very long walk from the bus station to the marina though - good shoes needed! But we found the dolphins - fabulous!!!!

They don’t tell you it’s a long walk to the boat and an even longer walk back to the coach that’s very rushed and wasn’t great in the rain when your a below the knee amputee!!!! Loads of dolphins to see but very hard to hear the guide Seat were very wet and no attempt by staff to dry them off a bit

Wir haben die Shopping und Delphin-Tour gebucht. Zu dem Boot kamen wir zu spät, sie haben natürlich nicht auf uns gewartet. Dafür wir 45 min auf den Bus, der uns dahin bringen soll. Danach schicke und der Guaid nach der Zeit , zu Fuß, alleine mit dürftiger Wegbeschreibung hin. Bis wir ankamen, war es schon zu spät. Wir seine Reaktion darauf war, will ich garnicht erst beschreiben.

De boottocht met de dolfijnen was geweldig, de mensen aan boord gaven ook goede uitleg. De vrije tijd in Gibraltar zelf was kort.

Dolphin boat trip was amazing, lots of pods of dolphins, the skipper and the crew were very informative, kept telling us which way to look out for them. Most importantly the safety information given out on the boat was excellent.

Wie üblich werden mehrere Hotels angefahren und damit viel Zeit verbracht. Aber unser Reiseführer Hans hat uns alles sehr gut und ausführlich erklärt. Wir haben gut im Zeitlimit gelegen. Der Grenzubertritt erfolgte problemlos. Die Freizeit haben wir kurzweilig auf der Mainstreet verbracht. Danach war die absolut empfehlenswerte dolphin adventure tour. Wir haben bei angenehmen Temperaturen wirklich viele Delphine zu sehen bekommen. Sie haben unser Boot begleitet und wir konnten tolle Bilder mache

Nog nooit zoveel dolfijnen samen gezien. Aan boord kregen we ook veel uitleg over de dolfijnen. Een prachtige ervaring voor jong en oud! De gids van tui en de buschauffeur waren enorm vriendelijk. We kregen heel veel uitleg over hoe de grens met Gibraltar over te steken en hoe Gibraltar zelf te verkennen. Hierdoor liep alles erg vlot en konden we vo´lop genieten van onze dag!

I only went on the dolphin trip after we came off the boat we went to to tour guide to ask a few questions and he said he was showing us the way but the same happened again when they walk so fast it's hard to keep up with a four year old child, again we had to tell him that we wasn't going to the next trip when his answer was ok be back for the arranged time for the coach.. He should have known how many people was on that trip and I had already asked him he just cut me off

Early start and coach trip with four nationalities made this an experience. Guide A was excellent as were her language skills and explanations of various experiences booked and timetable to be noted. We stupidly booked a trip to Gib with dolphin watch which didn’t include a trip up the rock!

Hard to rate the experience as we didn't get the chance to see the dolphins not because they were hiding simply because our bus was last one to arrive from the rock trip and no one can be asked to wait for me and my 2 kids. The tour guy was very friendly but a bit all over the place. I understand it is hard when you have to speak in French, English and German so maybe next time he should have a plan prepared on the piece of paper to give away to avoid any issues.

Dolphin experience was excellent, however, the day felt rushed with the bus leaving late. There was a lot of walking of which we weren’t warned beforehand and with little time to get from a to b we were basically frogmarched to the boat and it wasn’t a short distance. Not great for those less mobile. Dolphin crew were superb and we saw lots of dolphins and I would thoroughly recommend that aspect, Gilbralter not so much.

The boat trip was amazing and so was the tour guide, he was very informative. The only thing I didn't like was the transfer which was really long and didn't get much time on the island.

Die etwas längere Busfahrt war aufgrund des hervorragenden Guides (Hans) gut auszuhalten. Delfine waren tatsächlich zu sehen und auch Gibraltar an sich war sehenswert. Etwas unnötig erscheint die Grenzkontrolle, die scheinbar je nach Tagesform der Beamten zwischen 5 Minuten und 2 Stunden dauern kann. Alles in Allem aber sehr zu empfehlen.

Pros Dolphin boat trip worth the money on it's own. Dolphins coming right up to the boat. Cons Long transfer with many pick ups on route. Would have liked more free time in Gibraltar. Wanted to go up the cable car to the top of the rock but not enough time. If you want to go up the cable car the only way is to book the shopping only trip as this gives approx. 4 hrs free time.

Gibraltar zelf is niet zo indrukwekkend. We raden het aan om de Rock Tour en de dolfijnen samen te nemen om je dag te vullen. Bij ons is er helaas een misverstand gebeurd. We stonden tijdig te wachten op het afgesproken punt, maar toch hebben we de gids misgelopen. Al een geluk zijn we op eigen houtje bij de boten geraakt of we hadden de dolfijnentrip gemist.. Tip: Geef een gsm-nummer aan de groepsleden zodat zij de gids rechtstreeks kunnen contacteren.

der Transfer war in Ordnung, Die Reiseleitung hat sich sehr gut gekümmert. Das Boot hat trotz der Verspätung auf uns gewartet. Die Tour war sehr schön, die Besatzung hat sich gut gekümmert und hatte viele Informationen. Sie drehten das Boot immer wieder so, damit alle gut sehen konnten.

Uitleg opstapplaats mag beter worden uitlegt op voucher Onze gids Hans (uit Friesland) deed het werkelijk perfect, hulde aan hem.

Het mindere aan deze uitstap was het lange rijden doordat de bus aan elk hotel moest stoppen aan de ingang… en dus wij 3 uur op de bus moesten zitten zonder toilet bezoek… maar de rest van de dag maakte dit weer goed…

De excursie was leuk om te doen, je kon het ook combineren met de rots tour. Maar zijn blij dat we dat niet gedaan hebben, nu hadden we nog vrije tijd om zelf door Gibraltar te wandelen. Anders heb je bijna geen mogelijkheid daar toe.
