Ein schöner Event rund um die Schildkröte. Irgendwie ergreifend mit toller Atmosphäre am Strand. Abstriche gibt es für einen rumpeligen Transfer und fehlende Möglichkeit für Toilettengang. Für Frauen somit etwas grenzwertig. Trotzdem, wir fanden es sehr schön und haben es nicht bereut.

Was not informed hour and half offroad journey to see turtles. Once arrived spent less than 35 minutes watching turtles. No guide telling us what was happening. then back on jeep for hour and half journey back. Complete waste of money

My only comment would be that it should be made clear before booking that it is a 90 minute journey each way and that it is pitch black as you walk across the beach, including over/around rocks.

Such an incredible experience! Our guide Bruno was brilliant, friendly and so knowledgeable. The journey there isn’t great… but if you can get past that, the time watching the turtles is more than worth it.

The turtle watching was great, a once in a lifetime experience. How wonderful it was to be able to share the experience with a group of people who all appreciated the conservation efforts put in by those who escorted us. The journey was rather bumpy for 1 hour 35 minutes but well worth it.

It was magical to be able to see what we saw however, you put 7 grown people at the back of a very shaky vehicle. The comfort of the long drive with that speed was crazy! It felt like nice we saw the turtle then we were rushed back to the hotel and no consideration on how it was at the back of that car.

This has to be the most uplifting and emotional trip we have gone on. The guides were fantastic & the setting we arrived at the beach to was just beyond words, no light pollution and a crystal clear sky with more stars than I ever thought possible, the closeness to the turtles as she lates her eggs was breathtaking. Drawnack, no facility, but I do understand you cannot just plonk a loo in a setting like that, so it was well worth the bladder discomfort 😂😂

It was almost 3 hours of being thrown around in the back of a 4x4 with no leg room to finally see the Turtle lay eggs. It was nice to see but visability was so poor you only got to see the back part of the Turtle in a dim red light. My photos are just darkness with a dim red light. Definitely wouldn't do it again. Apart from lead person the team didn't speak. Had a puncture on the way back. I helped swap the wheel over, but didn't get a thanks or any acknowledgement. Would not recommend.

It was such an Interesting tour. The view of the stars was an added bonus. The guy leading the tour was delightful and so full of knowledge. It was lovely seeing all the babies and being able to hold one was an added bonus - delightful!

It really is a bumpy ride! Saw tiny turtles that had been rescued from the beach ready for a safe release. Guides had set expectations that we were probably unlikely to see a turtle laying eggs as it was so late in the season. We were very fortunate after quite a wait to be able to witness this. We would have been very disappointed if we had not seen the egg laying, as it was such a magical experience.

Vehicles are unsafe, no internal roll cages for off road safety. Seating cramped and side on, unsuitable for 8 adults. No hand holds in the rear, passengers tossed around, lap seat belts not self adjusting. Hatching turtles treated in humanely, taken from someone’s pocket and thrown in to a dug hole for everyone to crowd around and take pictures and handle. These animals were trying to do their natural thing and travel to the sea only to be picked up and tossed back in to the pit. Disgustin

The experience was fantastic from start to finish. At each stage clearly briefed by the professional tour staff. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, particularly around the three phases of laying eggs and the value of “80.” The first turtle in phase one got spooked by our vibrations so we joined up with the other group to witness the laying of eggs - mind blowing to watch mother nature in front of our eyes and the survival of turtles. Thank you to all the staff for their great work .

They Rushed to watch the turtle and scared the first one and made it stop laying its eggs . Are driver there was the guide and he drove ok and i thought was a good guide . The man that drove us back was a nutter and drove well to fast and one person on the tour said to us he thought at one point that he was going to roll the truck over and his wife was really scared .

Amazing experience, it could be made clearer at booking that long periods of travel ~80 minutes are involved in less than comfortable conditions - a bit cramped and hot in the vehicles and a significant portion is quite rough off-road. Would still recommend, but with this important detail made clear.

A truly magical experience being up close to the turtles as they laid their eggs and buried them in their nests. Guides were excellent. Very informative and gave us a lot of information about the process the turtles go through to make the nests and lay the eggs and also about the conservation work that takes place around the island. The only slight downside I’d say was the transport. A little cramped and uncomfortable for someone 6’ tall.

The off-road transport wasn’t highlighted in the tour meeting with the TUI rep - it was incredibly bumpy!! You do have to be very careful and sure-footed when walking on the beach in the dark and listen to the guidance given. However, the trip itself was definitely worth it - a once in a lifetime experience. The complete lack of light pollution also meant that we saw the incredible night sky above us in all its glory - fabulous.

The experience was great and informative from beginning to end. At pick up from hotel, we were given an overview of the expectations. The drive over on a 4x4 was an experience; off-road track which we weren’t able to expecting but at no point was our safety compromised. Having a biologist present explaining everything turtle and answering our questions was amazing and the experience of seeing and learning otherworldly. Highly recommend doing this at least once in your life.

When we got our ticket through for the experience the duration said 4-8 hours. Don’t get me wrong we weren’t expecting to be out there all night but we actually only got 1 hour on the beach!! We only saw 1 turtle and no baby’s. Again I know this isn’t guaranteed but it felt like our guide didn’t want to be there and she rushed the whole thing so she could go home. At £69 per person we are massively disappointed

We had a once in a lifetime experience to see the nesting turtles. The ride there was a bit bumpy and it would be helpful if we had our own red light torches as it was not always easy to keep up with the guides. However it truly was an unforgettable experience. My husband and I were just in awe of what we witnessed. The guides were fantastic and explained everything and answered any questions. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone!

I can only give this tour a zero score for all aspects as the first time we booked it the jeeps turned up and our name was not on the list so was rebooted through the tui rep and no jeeps at all turned up leaving about 14 people stood waiting. I strongly believe if tui are providing tours then a rep should be available at the hotel when the tours are due to leave as no one can contact a rep to highlight issues, when you contact through the app the response is speak to the rep tomorrow.

Fantastic tour, A jeep with 8 people, we had couples from Liverpool, Germany and Yorkshire, Fab conversations to and from. After a hair raising jeep trip, briefed and see a 35 yr old turtle laying eggs, and returning to the see. Professional guide throughout, expect some waiting as this is nature at its best. Enorm genoten van dit magische moment!! Na een vrij hobbelige rit van 1 uur (gedeelte of road) wat ik fantastisch vond kregen we goede informatie over de schildpad. Vervolgens was het wachten tot 1 zich veilig voelde om op het strand te komen, dit duurde wat langer i.v.m de felle maan. Maar naar een uurtje wachten was het moment er en heb er enorm van genoten!!

This is the second time we've done this experience and we loved it both times. The staff are friendly and informative, letting us know what to expect and the rules to follow. They arrived to pick us up on time and it took us 50 minutes to get to the beach. The drive is very bumpy once you get off the roads. We only had to wait 15 minutes until a turtle was spotted. The staff make sure the turtles are safe whilst there, that is clear from the outset. An amazing experience, would highly recommend.

I would recommend that this is advertised better and with more information with what is actually involved. More information on how the journey is and what to expect when you get there. Some children are afraid of dark spaces like mine and arriving at a pitch black beach wasn’t reassurance for her. Also the fact you have to walk in a single file line is slightly scary in the middle of nowhere. Also I would like to mention that it can take time for the turtle arrive and can take time waiting.

Toch eerder een teleurstelling... de tocht was offroad naar het strand in het donker, wat een verschrikking al die hobbels. Daar aangekomen nog eens een kwartier wandelen en af entoe pauzeren en wachten op het signaal van de verkenners. Ondertussen kregen we degelijke uitleg. Wel jaammer dat het niet in het Nederlands was voor de kids. Het schildpadmoment was best ok maar we dachten dat we er meerdere zouden zien... De 40-minutentocht terug, leek zelfs nog langer te duren als de heen tocht...

we hadden de uitstap met 'exclusieve' transfer gekozen, in de beschrijving stond ook dat we zouden varen, maar er werd niet gevaren en de exclusieve transfer was een gamele jeep, maw zeker niet de meerprijs (79€ ipv 62€) waard, dit maal acht geeft dat we eigenlijk ongeveer 150 € teveel hebben uitgegeven, graag hiervoor compensatie

Sehr schönes Naturerlebnis! Wir hatten direkt viel Glück: Die Crew hat mehrere Schildkröten gefunden, und wir konnten sie dabei beobachten, wie sie ein Loch gruben und ihre Eier legten. Der Weg dorthin war ziemlich abenteuerlich, aber unser Fahrer war wirklich top. Ein Tipp von meiner Partnerin für Frauen: Am besten einen Sport-BH tragen – das macht die Fahrt deutlich angenehmer. Ansonsten: Jederzeit gerne wieder! Natürlich kann man auch mal Pech haben – es ist eben die Natur. Aber wir hatten

This was a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget. It was great having actual experts in their field present who were genuine turtle conservationists and volunteers, whose only real concern was for the turtles. It was dark, and not being able to see properly, I hurt my knee on a rock (not seriously) when trying to crouch down. It was also quite expensive, but expect that the turtle conservationists receive some of that, and it was well earned.

Too intrusive. Too many people crowded around an already stressed turtle, lots of noise been made and no one tried to quieten the group. Guides were joking around with each other all night. Started to feel like I didn’t want to be there for the turtles sake. It was fascinating though and the turtle was obviously amazing.

Our driver was fabulous, he was a very considerate driver and knew the road well. The turtle staff were brilliant and very professional and informative. The whole trip was magical, we even saw the Milky Way whilst standing on the beach watching the turtle lay her eggs with the sound of the sea. We were in touching distance of her! Couldn’t have been any better.

We very much enjoyed watching the turtles nesting, but I suffer with a heart and lung condition and arthritis. It wasn't advertised before I booked that it was unsuitable for people with heart conditions, respiratory problems and mobility issues. Once I found out I went back to the rep and told her that I suffered with these issues and she said I would be fine. Whilst on the trip, I slipped on a rock and fell over and I now have a nasty bruise on my behind which hurts when I sit down.

The guides were brilliant! They head a wealth of knowledge that was so amazing to listen to! They made the ‘rules’ clear, all with the best interests of the animals first. At booking, no warning given of the hour long Jeep ride on dirt track covered in stones/rocks, horrible experience, dreaded journey back. Guide said we could take photos without a flash, but on the Beach they said we couldn’t film or take photos. We didn’t see the whole experience, the Turtle was already laying eggs, we missed it emerging from the sea, digging the nest and heading back to the sea as they didn’t shine the red light for us to watch this, didn’t see the front of the Turtle at all ?

The ride was bumpy off road, and very hot, but we had seatbelts. I was told what to wear and to have closed shoes and so was prepared for the walk on the dark. Selene? Our guide was excellent. A turtle was found immediatly and we watched her, and Selene was so informative and answered all questions. She also spotted another turtle coming out and asked us to squat down so as not to hinder that turtle. We were back before 11pm.

The whole tour was a magnificent experience. The tour guides were very knowledgable and really seemed to care about the turtles and so conscious of not disturbing them too much. The only negative is the vehicles used to transport us to the nesting site are very uncomfortable! Sitting side on with 8 people in the back of a the 4x4 for 50 minutes is very uncomfortable! It is almost impossible to stretch your legs out. If the vehicle had seats facing forward it would have been much more enjoyable.

It’s a truly unique experience, one which my daughter and I will never forget. Yes, it’s an hour off road but it’s Africa and turtles, rather sensibly, lay eggs on remote beaches, then there’s the 30 minute walk in complete darkness over tricky terrain - this is all part of the experience. Once you get there with your guide and hopefully the rest of your group it’s a very informative and once in a lifetime type experience watching the turtle lay her eggs. Just brilliant, so glad we did it!

Leider sahen wir keine Schildkröte, was wohl am Vollmond lag. Die Fahrt dauerte jeweils eine Stunde bei schwierigen Weg zu acht im Jeep.Einen deutschsprechenden Guide gab es nicht, so standen wir über 3 Stunden abseits vom Strand wartend bis zum Abbruch um23.30Uhr.Letztendlich leider kein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis für diese Tour

1h20 de route aller pour rester 5 heures dans une jeep sans lumière avec juste une bouteille d eau avec mon fils de 9 ans pour ne rien voir du tout, sans compter que les femmes n ont pas pue aller au WC. Personnel de l excursion au top. Sommes partis a 19h et rentré a 1h30 du matin, mon fils a dormi jusqu a midi le lendemain, avons perdus 1 soirée et 1 demi journée. Veuillez mettre un âge minimum pour les enfants .

Die Turtle Nesting Beach Tour auf Boa Vista war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Es war faszinierend, die Meeresschildkröten nachts beim Eierlegen zu beobachten. Die Guides waren sehr engagiert und vermittelten viel Wissenswertes über die Tiere und den Naturschutz. Travelling in the back of the land cruiser for an hour for tall adults very uncomfortable. Nothing to hold onto when there were lots of twists and turns. Need to state no toilet facilities and the walk along the beach not easy as was at a pace. The staff were great, knowledgeable and caring. The lady was witty and intelligent and came across very well.

The NGO staff were excellent clearly explaining everything Not a problem for us but the fact you need to sit for a weeks hours on the sand should be better explained as some may find this a challenge - it was made clear about footwear etc

Trip was really good. Amazing that we got to see two turtles that had just hatched, hear about the work that goes on at the reserve and see two or three loggerhead turtles dig a nest on the beach, lay and then bury their eggs before going back to sea. King Arthur was a brilliant guide and answered any questions. The trip involves a very bumpy ride for 30 to 40 mins in the back of a jeep type vehicle that seats 8. Very cosy and not the most comfortable ride but we all enjoyed the trip.

People don't listen to the reps. It's a long drive and gets very bumpy as you get closer to the beach where the turtles are. We had a clear sky and the milky way was as clear as daylight. There was a turtle laying on the beach we seen her from laying to going back to the sea it was absolutely amazing and quite emotional as you see the hard work she puts in saying it was amazing is selling it short really. We will be coming back to Boa Vista and we will book the turtle tour at the same time.

Minder prettig was dat ik misselijk werd van de hobbelige weg, de dieseluitlaatgassen van de Toyota Landcruisers. De ramen stonden open, het was heet, dus zandstof en uitlaatgassen komen naar binnen. Well, the guide Arthur said it would be 45mins to the beach.1hr&45mis from our hotel to the car park.very uncomfortable in the jeep.Then another 10 mins walking to the beach..pitch black, you need to let peeps know this.take a red touch with you so you can see the bolders.no white touches are allowed.guides only had minimal touches. Seeing the turtles (2 mothers and some babies) was amazing. We was about an 1 on beach.

It was lovely to see the turtles coming out of the sea, digging their nests laying their eggs and returning to the sea. Also so amazing to be-able to release a hatchling into the sea. On our email it stated that we had to print our voucher which was not needed, also no one was told to wear a seat belt and very rocky grounds to get to the beach. Guide could have given us a bit more information on the way there. But overall a well worth trip.

Loved the Turtle watching as we timed it perfectly to see a female Turtle laying eggs and baby turtles hatching and heading to the sea. The journey there and back was so uncomfortable in the jeeps. The seats were side facing, had no padding and no leg room when sitting opposite a complete stranger. To make things worse the passenger in the front seat closed the window his side and this reduced to airflow into the car, which was hot with 7 adults in the back.

It was good to see the turtles appearing from nowhere, dig on the sand, put some eggs, cover them and go back to the water. We also seen 4new borns. It was a good experience to see once, but in my opinion we were too many people (26 of us). For the price we paid I would appreciate reduced group to not feel that crowded on the beach and enjoy the experience more. The ride there is ok, not as bad as we thought. Guide said he wasnt biologist (as advertised) but could answer all our questions.

There was nothing I did not enjoy about this excursion. Our guide was well-informed and generous with his time, answering everyone’s questions. To be able to experience something like this, close up, and in a way that does not cause the animals any distress, was a fantastic opportunity. Also to be able to release a baby turtle into the sea was a surprisingly moving moment. I would recommend this without the slightest hesitation.

The whole experience was great the guide was very good and answered all questions. The driver was friendly and did his best to give us a comfortable ride (very hard under the circumstances). Our only negative comment is that the travel aspect to see the Turtles should be explained fully before you go especially if you are a bad traveller like myself. Luckily our driver let me sit in the front of his car and drove carefully. I know some passengers in other cars had a bad journey.

I felt the group should be smaller and limit the amount of people that can go on one trip (a couple of turtles came to the beach and were spooked by us being there (guide said)). Would have been nice to have someone on the bus explaining where we were going and give us an insight into the turtles before we got there. The staff were very good and took the time to explain any questions anyone asked, but this was on the beach around the turtles laying eggs where I thought we were ment to be quiet.

We were expecting a half hour ride to the turtles as told by staff...an hour it took over very bumpy terrain. The walk to the beach was in almost pitch darkness, not enough red lights to walk safely through the dunes. Once at beach turtle experience great, saw eggs being laid, and covered. Also handled newly hatched turtles and released to the sea. Once in a life time experience, but not a repeatable one.

De eerste gids kon niet zo goed Engels. Hierdoor weinig uitleg over de schildpadden en hoe je je moet gedragen bij de schildpadden. Dit maakte dat er heel wat mensen onrespectvol omgingen met de dieren (bijvoorbeeld: flash opzetten van de camera). De 2de gids die later aansloot, kon wel goed Engels en heeft ons daarna alle informatie nog eens gegeven. Dit was zeer goed. Ze doen er alles aan om je een leuke ervaring te geven.

It was an amazing experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information. It was fantastic to see the turtles digging and laying eggs and one of the guides also found a baby turtle. My only other comment would be that it would be worth the TUI staff pointing out that none of the restaurants are open between 6 and 6:30 so we couldn't get a proper meal as the pick-up time was 7pm.

He had a very limited understanding of English and was not interactive with his group or provide any information about the turtles beyond shining a light on an information board. I am aware that others in our travelling group had a far more positive experience with their guide.

The journey in the Land Cruiser was quite rough due to the uneven roads and the speed at which we were travelling. Some additional seat padding and air conditioning might have made the ride more comfortable. A slightly slower pace on the regular roads would also help. While the overall experience was good, the journey was a bit harsh, leaving me with some soreness in my back and legs the next day. Thank you.

The drive took us around 90 minutes from pickup to site, an hour of this was off road. This would have been fun if we didn’t have to sit on bench seats in the back of a Land Rover seated four a side with no air con with only the open windows to cool you down (and this was at 7.30pm). The turtle experience was good but due to the darkness and the fact that turtles apparently don’t like bright lights everything was watched under an ambient red light. No toilets at site, you have to pee in a bush.

I was really disappointed by this experience. Mainly the fact the guide allowed people to video/take photos (something which was totally banned in my previous experience with turtles). We spent the whole time staring at phone screens and one woman even put her phone in the turtle’s nest which was so intrusive to the poor turtle. We were also allowed to close to the turtles I feel and 2 turtles returned to the ocean because of us. TUI rep assured me we wouldn’t impact the animals - not the case

Ongelofelijke ervaring om dit mee te maken. Dit stond eerst niet op ons verlanglijstje maar we hebben geen moment getwijfeld om dit te doen. Goede Engelstalige gids die meer dan voldoende uitleg gaf. We hadden heel veel geluk dat er zoveel zeeschildpadden uit het water kwamen om hun eieren te leggen. Hierdoor konden we ook wel niet lang ter plaatste blijven. Maar alles gezien van putje maken, eieren leggen en putje dichtmaken. Unieke heel mooie ervaring!

Bumpy off road in a 4x4 for an hour but so worth it. We were sitting right next to the turtles laying her eggs. Quite a sight to see her nesting. An experience of a lifetime.

De gids Carlos was duidelijker getrainder dan de andere gids die heel zenuwachtig was en moeilijk verstaanbaar sprak. Verder is het best een prijzige uitstap maar ik hoop dat we op deze manier bijdrage aan het werk dat er voor de schildpadden gebeurd.

We enjoyed seeing the turtle and all the information, the only thing I would say is you need another guide with an infa red light. Having the one guide at the front with the light makes it hard for those further back where to walk and avoid the turtles as it is very dark

There were no negatives only big fat positives. Thinking that we would probably see 1 or 2 turtles and actually seeing more like 10 was great but to actually see eggs being laid was fantastic only wish we could of taken some photos
