What to expect

Kick off your day with an adrenaline-pumping tour of northern Boa Vista in a four-seater, off-road buggy. The adventure begins with a rumble along Via Pitoresca, a stretch with sea views and palm trees aplenty, before reaching Ponta do Sol. From there, on a clear day, you'll see your next stop, the island's famous shipwreck, Cabo Santa Maria. The grand finale? A family photo op in the sand dunes of the Viana Desert before it's back to the comfort of your hotel.

What to remember

Drivers must be a minimum of 18 years old and passengers must be 7 years or older

Please be aware that the price is per buggy, not per person and each buggy seats four people, with two adults allowed to drive

Closed shoes are a must for this trip

There's a maximum weight of 120kg per seat and 400kg per buggy

Just so you know, there's around a 30-minute bus ride to get you to the start of this activity

A two seat buggy would have been fine for my son and I. A four seat buggy wasn't required. He's 9 and sat in the front with me. The guides were surprised we had been booked on a four seat. Excellent other than that minor detail.
