What to expect
Spend an entire day at the San Diego Zoo with this one-day pass and learn how to monkey around.The San Diego Zoo is a beautiful 100-acre park with over 3,700 rare and endangered animals. You'll be able to visit the lush naturalistic habitats and see eagles, Galapagos tortoises, koalas and more. It's a lively place to visit and fun for the whole family!If it's your first time and you're not sure what to do, you can take a 35-minute guided bus tour of the zoo. It's a great way to get a general overview and plan what you want to see up close. If you're in a hurry to see the cheetahs or other animals, hop aboard the Kangaroo Bus. You can get off at four different stops around the zoo, making it easier to see all of your favorite animals. To get a bird's eye view of the zoo, take the Skyfari Aerial Tram. It's a great shortcut from one end of the zoo to the other and you'll be able to admire the extensive animal and plant collection.

Not allowed:
pets are not allowed and there are no on-site kennels to leave your pets
large food storage containers such as coolers are not permitted and no facilities are available for food storage
Know in advance:
during the entire month of October, children ages 11 and younger receive free admission (no ticket required) when accompanied by an adult with a valid form of admission. One adult with a valid form of admission can bring up to 5 children each
infants (0-2 years old) can access for free and don't need a ticket
children younger than 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult on the aerial tram
tickets will be valid for one year from the date of purchase
parking is free
non-commercial photography is allowed

I really was expecting a better experience.
I felt that the animal exhibits needed updates.
We went in the middle of the day in August and mostly all of the outside Animals were seeking shade and not visible. Maybe more shade & water showers in the exhibits for peak hour Guests experience.

We didn't find some animal's. We're going to have to go again. Maybe rent (I forget what they are called. You ride them. I have a walker it was hard to get around. Other than that it was great

Best day ever at SDZ in June. We appreciated the bus excursions and Kangaroo hop on hop off. It is a lot of walking and we needed the lift! The Zoo is spotless and the animals seem well-cared for in clean habitats. This is a must DO attraction while visiting SD.

It was my 6 year olds 1st experience with the San Diego Zoo. We are members of the Fresno Zoo community and Fresno has a great Zoo. But San Diego is an experience at another level. Great people, clean park and the animals looked well taken care of and content.

We very much enjoyed our time at the zoo. The only issue we experienced is that we were so busy we decided on a late lunch, and were surprised to find a lot of the eating areas closing up at 3:30-4:00pm when the park didn't close until much later.
