Your tour is led by an expert local guide with an unrivalled knowledge of the Atlas Mountains

What to expect

The Ouzoud Falls are one of the top sights in Morocco and easily visited from Marrakech. You'll head into the Middle Atlas Mountains to see North Africa's highest waterfalls as well as a natural travertine bridge. Hamza, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘I've been guiding this excursion for many years, but I still love seeing the falls. They drop 110m down craggy red cliffs, and there are various places to view the cascading water, from above and below. Ouzoud means “olive” in the Berber language, and the falls are named after the ancient olive trees that thrive around this valley.'You'll cross palm groves, pass by typical Berber villages and weave through mountain passes en route to Ouzoud. Reaching the falls, you'll have plenty of time to take photos and marvel at the succession of tiered cascades. There's a permanent rainbow created by the mist thrown up from the natural power of the water, which is at peak flow during the spring.Your guide will point out the best viewpoints, and with luck you might even spot the Barbary apes that call this dazzling place home. Hamza says, ‘Many people think of Morocco as arid. Yet the Ouzoud Falls and the green surroundings bring a sense of vitality and life-force to the landscape.' After your visit, it's time to relax over a meal in a Berber restaurant where you'll tuck into a freshly-prepared local lunch including a typical dish of the region. And there's a photo stop at the nearby Imi-n-Ifri natural bridge on the way back to Marrakech.

The Guide was very informative and entertaining. The tagine lunch was really good. The waterfalls were amazing and it was fun to see the monkeys' antics. When I first heard we had to go down 600 steps I was a bit worried, but the Guide took us all down together in stages and we all managed it really well.

Was very good. I knew it was a long day, but it didn't feel like a hardship. Coach was great, and we had a couple of stops too. The waterfalls spectacular - even with the 600 steps down and up. The cave was incredible - but I wish we had been the group going through the middle and not just down one side. Guide was knowledgeable and I had a good day.

I felt that the lunch could have been done differently. There seemed to be a lot of restaurants at the waterfalls that we could have had the same meal. I also think the cave was not really needed and made it a much longer day. I think it would have been better doing the waterfalls, having lunch there and then heading back

The meal with waterfall and mountain views was beautiful. Tui coach was comfortable as it needed to be for such a long journey. I struggled to understand the guide on the coach, but he was approachable at other times to ask questions. Not sure it was worth adding the cave detour as there was not a lot to see.

The day was amazing. It was long (out for over 12hours) so tiring but well worth it. Really cheap for what you experience. I think the advert does not do the day out justice. We saw so much of Morocco it was such an amazing day and I would 100% recommend. The guide and driver were both fantastic and the local lunch was delicious.

The tour was good, and guide was insightful. The lunch was disappointing, only beef as the meat option. Could've provided more detail about lunch or asked what options earlier. The vegetarian option was very bland, just boiled vegetables. The food at ouzod falls seemed more appealing, shame to travel for an hour for not as good food

Told us great stories and information about the places we were seeing as well as history about the country. Really enjoyed the lunch, was the best food we had all holiday! Waterfalls were not spectacular. Very little water for water falls - I guess they have had very little rain. The walk down to the bottom of the falls and back up was hard work in the heat. Enjoyed the boat rides . Your guide very friendly and knowledgeable. Would love to see the waterfalls after good rains- bet they would look great

Really great experience, well worth it! Beautiful views, Tasty lunch.. 100% recommend doing the boat ride too! Two things we disliked were: At the lunch, sharing with complete strangers. We’d rather have a smaller plate to ourselves. Also, at the waterfall where the monkeys are, a man (who clearly uses the monkeys to make money by taking pictures) kicked a dog, who was causing no harm - he was actually super sweet & friendly, to get it away from the monkeys - I personally cannot endorse this.

Disappointed we did not have longer at the falls. There are lovely stalls that would have been great to look at and possibly buy from. Some great place to get a drink. The tour was 350km , although broken up with stops, but still a long tour. The falls were great, be careful with the monkeys , better to wear long sleeves as my wife got scratches simply because the monkeys try to get the nuts and push the other moneys away but cause scratches as they held her arm tightly. It was very good to see more of the Morroco country. Do take the boat at the falls well worth it.

Soooo much walking, down 600 steps just to walk back up 600 steps. Too exhausting in 40°heat. Please install a lift, The visit to the cave afterwards was dreadful, just a ditch full of rocks and dirt, waste of time. Would rather have had more time at the waterfall.

Beyond TUI' control but the waterfalls area was very scruffy & untidy, litter everywhere. Expect to pay about an extra 40dms/head if you want a short raft trip close to the bottom of the falls. Don't plan on swimming at the bottom either, it's not very inviting, pretty filthy looking. There is a walk of 600 steps each way to the bottom, so decent secure footwear is a must.

The guide knew a lot in terms of the area and gave several facts about Marrakesh itself and the Berber people and culture. He seamlessly switched between French and English when telling the facts which showed true skill! The only thing I would improve on in the food we had for lunch, it was very average and the location was very random. The waterfalls themselves is totally worth seeing with the monkeys as well!

The overall experience was excellent, our guide Mustafa was very good, very helpful and very knowledgeable. The downside to this excursion is that it says its not for people with limited disabilities but there are 600 steps to navigate at the waterfall and the majority of people struggled back up. Was lovely to have a boat ride and feed some.wild monkeys. However...we were unaware of the 3.5 hr EACH WAY transfer which was longer than they actual tour itself. The Ouzoud Waterfalls are genuinely a very impressive series of cascades that are worth seeing. And you have plenty of time to explore the bottom of the falls and get some impressive pictures. The monkeys that occupy the upper reaches are fun to see, if you can avoid being roped into paying for peanuts! The Imi-n-ifri cave arch is also something of a natural wonder, even better than was expected. There is a bit of walking up and down steps, so be prepared for that, mobility-wise.

THE vital thing interested parties in this great trip need to factor in and be aware of is that the coach transfer is indeed three HOURS long (if departing / being picked up from central Marrakech, as we were). Fortunately we'd done our homework (checking previous reviews on here) so were aware. Don't let it put you off! The drive was largely smooth and swift thanks to the number of interesting views and also regular commentary from the tour guide. Absolutely worth the long coach drive!

We were unaware the the travel time to and from the waterfalls was nearly 6 hours driving. If I'd realised this then I probably wouldn't have booked it. Hassan the tour guide was fantastic! Passionate about his country, knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't have money for the raft he offered to pay and we could pay him back at the hotel. The bus was incredibly well air-conditioned. Only downsides were the tour is not advertised as being a 6 hour round trip on the coach, nor the many steps down and up, and we could have done without the cave visit, but appreciate that was there to break up the journey back. Lunch was lovely and filling.

An amazing trip into an area we wouldn’t have seen - well worth the early morning! The reason for not quite a perfect score? I would have liked to have known before the length of the journey - it wouldn’t have put me off but I know some people were unhappy. Also, the warning of ‘not suitable for people with restricted mobility’ - I think this should be slightly more explicit. In the 46 degree heat, the number of steps and the steepness of them was a challenge!

Again a rather large group, but I guess there must be a minimum number TUI have to hit to make a profit. Hassan (the guide) was a funny and knowledgeable individual who clearly takes pride in his job and country. A great advert for Moroccan tourism. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable was not the fault of the staff or organisation. We were unaware that there would be monkeys living at the site of the waterfalls falls and although they were very cute they kept jumping onto people which was quite unnerving. Great experience. It is a long day but well worth it. The highlight is the falls with lunch a close second. The was then a visit to a cave which we didn't know about but this isn't a cave that you can go into and is more of a geological feature from an old river. In my opinion this was not a highlight and could easily be left out.

The waterfall and guide were brilliant. The description of the excursion is completely different to what we encountered and doesn't inform of the taxing walk up and down 700 steps, which we were only informed of during the drive there. An unexpected visit to a cave was underwhelming and cut short the time at the waterfall which we felt was very rushed. A visit to the waterfall alone would have been more enjoyable as less pressure on hurrying back up to the bus.

The sights were fantastic, both the cave and the waterfall. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful when I didn’t have cash, he let me borrow some and give it back later when we were near a cash point. Prompt pick up from our hotel, the guide Mustafa was amazing, friendly, very knowledgeable, a great personality and had our safety as his first priority. The actual trip was the best, wear trainers or pumps, as there are about 60 steps to climb up and down, but this is at your own pace. The boat trip near the bottom of the waterfall is a must, a fun experience. Lunch is provided, which was ok, a basic tajine, with fresh fruit and water. If you are a vegetarian please inform your guide. It’s a long drive on the coach with bathroom stops, you will get chance to have a drink and buy snacks on the way, but I would recommend taking snacks with you and a bottle of water. We had a great group of people with lots of laughs on the way. Overall, a great experience, definitely recommend this trip.

Was a long trip 11 hours but was worth it. During the coach trip was interesting to pass villages and see how local people live, beautiful mountains. The guide Yussuf was very nice and informative. It wasnt many people at waterfalls cause it was during ramadan. Was nice and quiet, also you can feed monkeys which was one of the highlights. Lunch was typical Moroccon food and was very tasty. Definitely recommend this trip, even for kids.

Great

The expert of the waterfalls is excellent but be prepared to spend around 7 hours on the coach for two and a half hours at the attraction. Also we did not visit the Berber village or pottery making as advertised. Instead we saw a cave

Assam our Guide was Really good and knowledgeable and very Attentive to all our requirements. We were never under pressure to rush around. Although we didn’t have the best weather for our day it didn’t take away the fact that this was a great trip and a bit of a wow factor we even got to see a cave on our way back on what was a 11 hour day trip. My only disappointment was the Lunch the Beef Tagine was a bit Bland and not as spicy as I was expecting and desert was a Orange so a bit underwhelmed with the Food

Great

The guide was wonderful and very knowledgable. It’s a sight we’ll worth seeing but be warned it’s a long trip there and a long trip back. Our day was 11 hrs long and half of it was driving.

The guide was fantastic, he was informative and entertaining. The views from the waterfall were amazing and seeing the monkeys made the long journey worthwhile. Only slight improvement was I think lunch could’ve been better, the service was fine but the actual establishment was a little run down and food was ok but not great.

This was a great excursion. Yussef, our guide, was hugely informative, helpful and humorous. We learned so much about Morocco as well as visiting a stunning location. Lunch was great too. A big thankyou to yussef and to Abdul our driver who a super careful and courteous driver.

Great

Everything was brilliant during the trip but the lunch let it down. The food choice was limited with some not being able to eat . We both had upset stomachs after the food. The setting for the waterfall was beautiful and the guide was fantastic. It was a fab trip

Great

The trip is a long day excursion, be prepared for that… but the scenery is very different and worth the journey. The waterfall is nice to see and there is plenty of time to visit, explore and have a drink and ice cream. The lunch was ok, partially on the way home. Would recommend it.

This was a lovely day out although a lot of time on the coach. The falls were brilliant but don’t expect niagra!! It was great to be able to walk around the top of the falls but I cut this short due to being constantly hassled by locals. Our guide was excellent with so much knowledge.

Spectacular destination, very good guide in Hassan, but...... It's a long journey from Marrakech and the tagine lunch was poor in our view.

We had a great day. Although the drive out was a long way to start a short stop for a drink was welcomed and the views were amazing along the way. The waterfall was lovely to see and the boat trip was excellent fun. It was a shame about the litter. Our guide was fabulous and incredibly knowledgable.

The tour guide on the trip was lovely, positive, friendly and safety aware. Lots of historical information provided. Despite the journey being long to get to the national park it was broken up with stops. The trip starts before hotel breakfast is provided and lunch is into the afternoon, bring snack

Waterfall trip from Marrakech. The trip was interesting but the guide was not that helpful & told us to walk on our own. I think he enjoyed talking to his friends while we went off independently. The journey was long and lots of bends & my daughter felt sick. Felt the guide was rude at times. Nice f
