On the eastern side of the building, a light and media facade (BIX) is illuminated with 946 fluorescent lamps serving both artists and curators in communicating with the outdoor urban space. Due to its modern shape contrasting with the surroundings it is locally known as the 'friendly alien'.Journey through galleries and hallways spread across two floors focusing on regional and international contemporary art with themes such as global trends, permanent and changing temporary exhibitions.

Guided tours are available in German on Sundays at 3.30 pm, Sundays at 11.00 am; English on Sundays at 2.00 pm

Audioguides are offered in English and German; there is also a media guide in Austrian sign language
Children and Youths (age 0-18) can enter the museums for free - free tickets are issued at the museum's ticket counter
