Erected in 2002, this cross stands as one of the tallest globally. It was built as a tribute to 2,000 years of Christianity in Macedonia and honours biblical references to St. Paul's evangelisation efforts in the region.Next, make your way to the Church of Saint Panteleimon at Gorno Nerezi. Here, you can admire some of the world's most beautiful frescoes that adorn the church.Lastly, venture to the Matka Canyon, situated west of central Skopje. Spanning approximately 5,000 hectares, Matka is a favoured outdoor destination in Macedonia, boasting several medieval monasteries. Within the canyon lies the Matka Lake, the country's oldest man-made lake.
