What to expect

An exotic blend of the familiar and the unusual, Gibraltar is a must-visit. This tour ticks off all its top attractions – the Barbary apes, the Rock and Main Street. And to top it off, you'll set sail around the Bay of Gibraltar for the chance to spot dolphins along the coast. Rosa, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Gibraltar's monkeys are the most accommodating wildlife around. Unlike dolphins, you don't have to search for them – they come looking for you, especially if you're holding food.'The fun kicks off with a boat trip in the bay to look out for dolphins. Three species – bottlenose, common and striped – are known to frolic in these waters. Then, back on dry land, head for a guided minibus tour of the Rock of Gibraltar, which juts 426 metres above the Mediterranean. You'll stop at Europa Point, where there are many famous monuments, a mosque and a historic Christian shrine. Plus, you'll also visit the Rock's recently renovated St Michael's Cave, which now hosts an auditorium. At the Upper Rock nature reserve, you'll meet the free-roaming Barbary apes – Europe's only wild monkeys. There are about 300 monkeys on the Rock. A local legend says that if the monkeys disappear, Gibraltar will stop being British. Back at ground level, Gibraltar's town centre has a distinctly British feel to it. Head to Main Street, where many of the British high street chains have outlets, for a mooch around its duty-free shops.

Great day, fab tour guide. Chaotic getting mini buses for the rock tour. Only half the group were accommodated. We waited 30 mins for a 2nd bus. During this time 2 of the drivers had a physical fight over a parking space.

We loved this trip. It was incredible! The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and organised. Shout out to Anais and David. I would suggest that having an itinerary ahead of the trip would have been useful. We were on a coach with people doing various Gibraltar experiences so it did get confusing. Also, it does say on the Tui website that food isn't included, but it needs to more clear that there isn't actually time to eat due to the tight schedule. Guests should bring food with them.

It was drilled into us about what was happening, where it was happening and what we should do…no mean feat now that the UK is out of the EU. It was well organised and a truly unforgettable experience. The duty of care by all the staff was second to none.

I enjoyed both the mini bus tour of the rock followed by the dolphins boat tour... highlight seeing so many dolphins. No time scheduled for a coffee / lunch break so good job I brought a drink and a snack with me. Too brief stops during the mini bus tour (10 mins Europa lighthouse point, 20 mins St Michael's cave, 5 mins Barbary apes nature reserve). Sad to see tourists giving a Barbary ape ice cream and Pringle at St Michael's cave cafe for photo opp. Well organised TUI tour guide (Annalise).

Great

All was good except, the actual boat trip to see dolphins was cancelled. We were told this as we arrived to go to the boat. So we ended up walking around Gibraltar for 2 hours, before doing tour of the rock itself. Tour of the rock was very good even though a bit rushed,as timing a little out of sync with boat trip cancelled. Also should advise customers this is closer to a 12 hour day rather then 8.

Amazing experience! Really enjoyed listening to Barbara throughout our trip. Seeing St Michael's caves for the first time takes your breath away. And the dolphins experience was simply out of this world! Thank you for letting me spend such a great day

Didn't really get any free time because of including the dolphin watching. Glad I read all the reviews before booking as the online info about the day doesn't make it clear that you really need to bring food with you as there won't be time to stop and eat if you're doing the dolphins and rock tour. Our guide Sonia was great, very knowledgeable and fun. I mentioned it was my birthday so then she got the whole coach singing happy birthday to me! Busy day but fab.

Really good trip. Our tour guide was excellent. We had a dolphin cruise and also the visit of the Rock. We would appreciate more time we could spent on the Rock with monkeys, but we understand it's not possible to see all attractions on the Rock if we want to have a cruise too.

It was an amazing trip. We were lucky to get through the boarder quickly. There was enough time to wander down the high street. Get a coffee and snack in the 'Gibraltar Bakery' sit and take in the atmosphere before setting off on the boat trip. We saw lots of dolphins which the children loved. The Minibus ride was scenic, the monkeys were very cute and the views were photo worthy. The caves were interesting for adults, the children found them a bit claustrophobic. (they wasn't)

Really enjoyed the trip! The rock with the monkeys were a bonus and we have the fan tour guide Gary who was really funny yet informative. Would have liked slightly more time to be able to get drinks and snacks but overall a fab day out.

This trip suited us very well and we really enjoyed it. We got a good overview tour of Gibraltar - timings were fairly tight and the pace was a bit frenetic, which suited us because we have age range 4-7 kids and they were kept interested. The dolphin tour was excellent and the kids loved it. The tui tour guide was also very good, well organised and engaging. Also her seamless switching of languages was very impressive. Don’t do the dolphin tour bit if seeing Gib is your primary goal.

The trip was very well organised and timings worked well. There wasn’t loads of time waiting around but there also wasn’t a rush to get to each location. The only improvement could be making the tour of the rock slightly longer, allowing a bit more time to see the monkeys etc.
