What to expect
The trip allows you to discover; KSAR AIT BEN HADOU, KASBAH TELOUET, magnificent desert landscapes, panoramic views, and nature. Start the day trip early around 07:00 AM. Along the way pass by amazing landscapes, Palm groves, and olive trees. By the gate of the High Atlas Mountains, we stop for the first pause at AIT BARKA town. From this small village, you will enjoy the magic views of a lot of Berber villages. The second pause will take place at the top of the high Atlas mountains TIZI N TICHKA (2260m).Afterward, you carry on through the salty valley of Ounila. You will arrive at Ait Benhaddou KASBAH around mid-day. Ait Benhaddou is the UNESCO site classified since 1987. Where about 8 families are still living in the old part of the fortified village. Ait Benhaddou is considered a natural decoration. It sets for many movies which were shot in the area. At this point, you will have time to lunch and take a walk. A local guide will guide you to the top hill to dominate AIT BEN HADOU KASBAH. Then we move to visit Kasbah Telouet. In the afternoon.

De combinatie Telouet en Ait Ben Haddou is zeer geslaagd. Het interieur van kasbah Telouet is verrassend mooi en gedetailleerd en Ait Ben Haddou behoeft nauwelijks toelichting. De hele rit door de bergen is indrukwekkend. Een ding om rekening mee te houden zijn de extra kosten die je moet maken voor entree van de kasbah’s, eten, drinken, gids en fooien, hoewel die niet hoog zijn. Meestal zijn dergelijke kosten al inbegrepen bij een excursie.

Informative and friendly guide with excellent English. The drive through the mountains is stunning. Lots of stops offered to view the scenery and take photos. Both Kasbah’s worth a visit but very different. Kasbah Telouet beautiful inside. Very quiet - we were the only tourists there! Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou equally stunning. More tourists but not too busy. Lots of shops but no hassle from the vendors. Views from the top well worth the climb. Great traditional lunch.

We had a great trip which I would highly recommend. Our guide Karim was extremely friendly and was a pleasure to talk to. He told us lots of things about Morocco and Moroccan culture we'd never have known if we hadn't met him. The Kasbah was really worth the trip, and the drive along the way is really interesting - beautiful green valleys and ancient kasbahs surrounded by barren mountains. The food at lunch was also excellent and well priced.

On this excursion we had three different guides, one for the main journey who recall was called Yassin, and then one for each of the two Kasbahs we visited. At Kasbah Telouet we felt the guide rather rushed the experience and was more interested in trying to sell us a rug at the end, which we simply didn’t want. Although we appreciate this is his livelihood, he was extremely insistent and we almost had to be rude to get away. The rest of the trip was fabulous!
