What to expect
Discover the east part of Madeira. After hotel pickup, start your tour by heading towards Pico do Arieiro, the highest mountain accessible by car and the third-highest of the island (1818m). Here you will be astonished by the fantastic views over the mountains and the nature of the island. Descend towards Ribeiro Frio located in the middle of the "Laurisilva" (local laurel forest). We loved the East island tour. There was so much to see.. Our multi lingual guide was amazing. He was so friendly and his communication was exemplary. We had time to explore lots of places and landscapes and we were educated about the nature of the island. We enjoyed it so much, we booked the West island tour. Thoroughly recommended.

Es gab die Möglichkeit diese Tour auf Deutsch zu buchen, was wir getan haben. Leider hat der Guide kein Wort deutsch gesprochen, was etwas zur Schwierigkeit wurde. Der Fahrstil des Fahrers lies zu wünschen übrig. Rasanter und hektischer Fahrstil. Die zeitliche Einteilung der verschiedenen Stops war nicht optimal eingeteilt. In Santana relativ viel Zeit, was man nicht benötigt hat. Bei einer Levadawanderung sollte man in 30min zurück sein, was nicht funktioniert hätte, da ein Weg min.20min betrug

We thoroughly enjoyed the day and our tour guide Daniel was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Seeing the other 'wilder' side of the island was wonderful and contributed to a good mix of experiences that day, so in that respect we rated it above the West tour we did a couple of days earlier.

The only positive thing about this tour was the guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and the driving felt safe. Unfortunately, the minibus is not suitable to fit the number of passengers booked. Quite a few of the seat spaces have very limited legroom. In our case, we were last pick up from hotel and left with 2 seats in the back, where we had no legroom. We considered abandoning tour at the 1st stop. Don't waste your money, would not recommend this tour. Very unconformable vehicle layout.

It is pot luck when booking this sort of trip. The viewpoints, lavadas walk and Madeira itself were fantastic. But our minibus was very cramped and our guide's English wasn't great, so he kept repeating himself to make a point and that made his commentary dull and condescending.

Ein wirklich gelungener und wunderbarer Ausflug! Man sieht bei diesem Ausflug wirklich unfassbar viel von der Insel. Wir haben in diesen 8 Stunden einiges erlebt. Wer besonders erwähnt werden muss, ist unser Fahrer und Guide. Er hat diesen Ausflug die perfekte Note verpasst. Unbedingt besuchen und Madeira entdecken!

Es gab viele Stopps bei den wichtigsten Orten und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ein toller Überblick über den Osten Madeiras! Die Länge der Stopps war optimal. Die Straßen waren zum Teil etwas holprig und eng. Für Leute mit Höhenangst wie mich etwas aufregend, aber trotzdem auszuhalten.

Die Tour war insgesamt sehr informativ, unser guide war sehr gut über madeira informiert und hat alles sehr gut erklärt. Die Mittagspause mit 2 Stunden war allerdings viel zu lang, da es im Ort außer den alten Häuschen und Restaurants nichts gab.

Von Santana haben wir mehr erwartet. Es klingt immer nach viel mehr, aber im Grunde sind es doch nur drei-vier traditionelle Häuser. Pico do Ariero war sehr schön. Wir hatten absolutes Glück mit dem Wetter. Das Highlight war aber Machico canical. Die Aussicht war super. Der Guide war sehr nett und sehr informativ.
