Je tour begint bij het standbeeld van de Heilige Drie-eenheid, vanwaar je rond de prachtige Matthiaskerk loopt, gebouwd in de prachtige gotische stijl van de 15e eeuw. Naast de kathedraal kunt u het Vissersbastion bewonderen, een fantastisch sprookjesachtig bouwwerk met het beste uitzicht over de Donau en het Hongaarse parlementsgebouw.Na een aangename wandeling over de oude geplaveide straten, verlaat u de woonwijk om naar het presidentiële paleis en de koninklijke paleiscomplexen te reizen. Loop rond de binnenplaatsen en fonteinen en kijk naar de trotse bewakers buiten het paleis. Vanaf de koninklijke terrassen kunt u genieten van de meest verbluffende uitzichten van de andere kant van de stad over de majestueuze rivier de Donau, met volledig uitzicht op de belangrijkste bruggen: Margaret Bridge, Chain Bridge, Elizabeth Bridge en Liberty Bridge.Nadat je terug bent gelopen van het Koninklijk Paleis, verken je de andere kant van het kasteel. Vanaf de middeleeuwse muren heb je een prachtig uitzicht op de heuvels van Boeda - het westelijke deel van de stad met zijn bossen en natuurparken. Je tour eindigt later bij het startpunt van de tour bij het Holy Trinity Statue, voor de Matthiaskerk.

Our guide was excellent, the tour was well paced and she was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Group was not too big and there was plenty of opportunity to take photographs and ask questions.

Not quite what we were expecting. Guide excellent but castle not really a castle and only saw things from the outside. Meeting point a long way from ship. Tui need to be clearer about this when advertising shore excursions that are undertaken by other companies. There were a few problems experienced by other passengers on our ship due to this.

We did this tour on a very hot day after having walked around Buda before hand. The tour covered most of the outside areas at the top of the castle hill but no areas inside either the church or castle (now an art gallery). It was very informative but seemed very long for what we were looking at (only the outside of buildings) especially with already sore feet.

Our tour guide was excellent, unfortunately the Chinese dictator was visiting so much of the area including Fisherman’s Bastion was closed off. Nothing she could do about it. She personally walked us partway down the hill so we could find transportation. Much appreciated.

Good value . Well informed guide. Travel to the venue ..Walk (long) ....Tram and bus.......Taxi...Taxi expensive for the journey back. Lots of reconstruction work going on. The 'Old ' places you see are not as old as they seem (Neo Gothic) or reconstructed. Nice views.

A very knowlegable guide took us round the castle and city by coach and on foot. She really brought home both the beautiful architecture and history of the city and country under it's various rulers and occupiers and opened our eyes to the privations which Hungary suffered under the Russians.
