Skiathos ademt de Egeïsche charme als het ware uit. En de beste manier om de geheime plekjes van het eiland te ontdekken is met deze 4x4 safari. Je trekt naar het Evangelistriaklooster en de voormalige hoofdstad Kastro. Dan maak je foto's boven de baai van Elias, zwemt bij het Kechira strand en rijdt door het bekende Mandraki bos.Je rijdt de 4WD richting het diepe binnenland van Skiathos, over paden en wegen waar alleen een 4x4 zich een weg kan banen. Eerst bekijk je het prachtige Evangelistriaklooster met zijn museum. Kastro is de volgende stop. De stad werd twee eeuwen geleden een spookstad en het verlaten, griezelige karakter past perfect binnen de spectaculaire schoonheid van deze locatie in een rotsachtig berglandschap. Je maakt er de mooiste selfies.Er is een snelle fotostop bij de kerk van Agios Alexandros - beroemd om een van de beste uitzichten op het eiland - voor het strand van Kachira. Hier heb je vrije tijd om te lunchen, te zonnebaden of te zwemmen. Ten slotte kijk je je ogen uit op de baai van Elias voordat je terugrijdt door het dennenbos van Mandraki.

Excellent
Dimitra was the best driver ever, excellent knowledge and a lovely person for our guide.
Platonas taverna did amazing moussaka and had the best view of Skiathos town ever.
Happy to recommend the 4x4 tour to anyone interested in Kastro, Evangelistria monestry and learning about the local flora.

Nikolas the tour guide was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about history and the island of skiathos! He was enthusiastic and fun and told us a lot about the culture. We visited churches, a monastery, a beach, drove through the forest and had a lunch stop (not included in price). The view from lunch was amazing over the cliff. Fantastic day. Ran from 0930-1730pm. Fantastic! Well done Nikolas!

Guide picked us up on time from our studio, friendly and knowledgeable. Made sure everyone felt part of the group. Visited monastery and other interesting landmarks and met up with second group, both guides very interesting and enthusiastic to show us the island and share history. Lunch is as lovely in a taverna with outstanding views , trip finished with a lovely swim , a really good day!

Best day of our holiday by far. Nicholas and Dimithra (I hope I pronounced that right) were fantastic. Nicholas has huge knowledge of the islands plants and history and helped me get my orthodox cross blessed at the monastery (an emotional moment for me). The perfect mix of history, island knowledge, seeing sights and a final swim. If you only book one excursion on your holiday, make it this one. Thank you both!

We had an excellent day out, one of the best TUI day trips we have ever been on. The guides were so lovely and genuine and told us so many interesting things about Skiathos. I was a little apprehensive as my husband is not a good traveller if he's not driving, but our guide was such a skillful driver so he was absolutely fine!

Absolutely fantastic day! Comfortable car - glad not to be doing the driving myself. Our 2 guides were so interesting and really made the day. Full of information about history, plants, literature, wonderful ambassadors for the island. Stand-out day of our trip and would really recommend it.

We had this trip cancelled last year and as it was the end of our holiday we couldn’t rebook. It was cancelled twice again this year and then we weren’t on the list when the cars picked up from our apartments. However our driver Nickolas sorted it for us and we had a great day. He was a fantastic guide and driver., and both guides gave us a lovely mix of historic and biotanical information. This trip was much better than we thought it would be and we would recommend this great experience.

The whole day was a great success, from pick up to drop off. The 2 guides made you feel at ease and were very knowledgeable, we would never have visited those parts of skiathos island. The lunch stop was perfect as was the visit to the monastery and beaches, all in all a great fun packed day.

The most remarkable and unforgettable days out. One of the very best guided excursions we have every been on. Nikolas was nothing less than outstanding. A wonderful host, driver, storyteller, botanist, with a wealth of knowledge on the island, flora, fauna, history and myths and legends. We visited places we'd never have seen unless with a study 4x4 and the bravery to take the mountain paths we did! Highly recommended.

Nicholas was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. He drove the safari at our pace. We never felt pressured to keep up. There were plenty of stops and Nicholas gave us time to shop and use the toilet facilities at the monastery, which I fully recommend as the facilities at the beach where you can swim are primitive to say the least. Frills and spills isn’t how I would advertise it, educational, definitely with Nicholas.

Nico was an excellent guide and driver. The only draw back was we had a full vehicle with 6 adults five of which were taller than average so it was a bit of a squeeze in the vehicle.

Nikolas the guide was fantastic! Very knowledgeable of the area, especially the plant life giving good information about all the edibles around which was an added bonus to the trip. He was also very friendly and made sure everyone in the car was well looked after. The only thing I would potentially change would be the beach at the end of the day. Not the best beach on the island but was still nice to sit and relax for a bit after the journey

The Guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. However the jeep was a little small for 6 passengers, not been in such a small jeep before. The trip was very good, we enjoyed it very much due the the Guide being so good.

This was a fantastic trip. We saw so much you wouldn’t have seen without a vehicle like this. The guides were so knowledgable and we learnt a lot. A shame that Kastro was closed but the trip was still filled to the brim with things to see and do.
