What we expect

Hop aboard a super-speedy boat headed to Cozumel Island, where the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and its marine life are waiting. Soak up the breathtaking landscapes before snorkelling at two of the most famous reefs in the southern part of the island, Palancar and Colombia. They're separated by a couple of metres of open water, so you'll have wall-to-wall reef to explore.

Next stop is the shores of El Cielo – which literally means ‘the sky' in English – as it's famous for its peaceful atmosphere and giant starfish population, which you'll find covering much of the ocean floor....

Het snorkelen stelt niet veel voor. Als je al eens in Curaçao of Indonesië gesnorkeld hebt, zou ik deze excursie mijden. Er zijn wat tropische visjes, een schildpad als je geluk hebt, en een aantal zeesterren, maar verder niet veel. De plek met de roggen is wel mooi, maar in totaal duurt dit misschien 5% van de excursie. Alleen daarvoor dus niet de moeite waard. Transfer en dergelijke zijn wel goed geregeld.

Quite simply the best tour I have done… anywhere… and we’ve done a lot! So many moving parts, it could have easily gone wrong, with delays, connections etc, but it was a seamless experience. And offered some truly bucket list, once in a lifetime memories.

Great trip snorkelling on the reefs. And chilling in the shallows with the sting rays and the nurse shark. I was worried until we saw the TUI lady waiting for us after the ferry. Everything went smoothly just a lot of flaff getting to Cozumel which obviously can’t be helped. I would recommend a good experience thank you

Orga war Katastrophe. Wurden alleine mit Taxen hin und her geschickt. Ebenso alleine von der Fähre zum nächsten Guide. Umkleiden waren im Hinterhof eines Souvenir-Shop. Boot war anders als erwartet, aber war okay. Zurück am Hafen gab es keine Umkleiden oder Duschen! Mittagessen war dafür lecker. Eigene Zeit war eher zurück zur Fähre laufen. Auf der Fähre mit abbaubarer Sonnencreme eincremen und UV-Kleidung tragen. Aber man wird immer wieder daran erinnert sich einzucremen, trotz Verbot.

Das Restaurant wo wir waren kann ich wärmstens empfehlen und den Rest aber nicht. Es ist einfach eine Tour mit abhetzen und extrem weit laufen. Die Bootstour an sich war nicht schön. Zu viele Leute eingequetscht auf diesem Boot. Snacks bekommen nur Leute im Wasser und der Rest auf dem Boot bekommt nichts. Schnorchel Riff war rot und ein Massenauflauf bei den Rochen wo nur 1Rochen mal kurz gesehen wurde dir Dutzende Leute. Rückzu wurde man noch mit der Fähre alleine gelassen in einem fremden Land

This experience was very poor. Long wait after first pick up . Before getting the ferry to cozmel. Long wait the other end over 1.5hours to literally be asked what u want eat. To cross road to taxi. Boat guide didnt show us different fish. Just was bossy. Current very strong not ideal for beginners. Starfish what starfish... 5 in total. Snack...at shallows and a couple of rays. Long wait to get taxi back. Food and drink service poor. No free time as promised at start. No info about cozmel.

Il ne s’agissait pas d’une excursion exclusivement Tui les autres participants n’ayant pas payé en avance, ils ont dû payer sur place ce qui nous a fait perdre un temps considérable. Les bateaux étaient surchargé et je n’avais pas de gilet de sauvetage. Donc non seulement la prestation était de mauvaise qualité, mais avec un risque ma femme a pris une photo de moi, sans gilet de sauvetage pendant l’animation.

We left the hotel at 7am but it was 11am before we started our snorkeling experience. Too much waiting around. The boat trip was fabulous and guides extremely friendly. When we returned to shore we were rushed for lunch and to catch the ferry. No to look around Cozumel or the promised tequila tasting.

Overall, we had a great time. The snorkelling was fantastic, and the guides were very good. However, the organisation was a bit chaotic. We were picked up 45 minutes late from our hotel, after the person who turned out to be our driver eventually called out the right name after standing there for 15 minutes. We were then crammed into a small car with two other couples we didn't know, something none of us were impressed by. Overall, the day started off poorly but quickly improved in Cozumel.

In our 2 visits to mexico this has been our favourite experience. Personal preference we would of liked to have spent more time at the Colombia reef as it was breathtaking. And a little more free time in cozumel. It was also mentioned in description vist to lighthouse which we never got to visit.

The excursion wasn’t that organised. We had a transport from the hotel to a shop at playa del Carmen where we got ferry tickets and then hang up in the shop for like half an hour before taken to the ferry. There was no guide with us, but they were at the other side of the ferry at the Cozumel island. We had to wait for ages for taxis to take us to the marina. The boat people were ok but we should had 20 min in each reef, but they kept saying they were hungry so we didn’t stay long in the reefs.

There was no island tour, it was really disorganised and lots of waiting about, the guide was more interested in his boyfriend selling photos to us than making sure we all had a good time, this meant we couldn’t get back on the boat for absolutely ages whilst we all waited for him to get around everybody making us late for food (which after not being able to have breakfast because it was an early start) meant we didn’t eat until late afternoon and to top it off it was inedible. Waste of money.

This trip included snorkelling witch was fantastic , however the transport was chaotic at best and the trip included an island tour of which we saw nothing as there was no time also I did not get my included meal as delays on the boat meant we got to the restaurant late my food was incorrect and finally arrived 5 mins before we had to leave to catch the ferry so I was unable to eat it , I was extremely disappointed as I paid for a premium trip and we didn’t see any of the island ??

Enjoyed the snorkelling. The guys on the boat great but not much guidance from guide.The timing for everything was wrong, ‘lunch’ was far too late in the day and very bland. Too much time standing in the water at the stingrays. Lunch was very rushed due to poor timing. Should be warned how long we had to wait for food

Organisatorisch komplett miserabel. In Summe wurden 4/5h verbracht mit rumstehen und warten oder Sinnlos durch die Gegend zu fahren. Einen gescheiten Guide gab es auch nicht und so musste man sich selbst zurecht finden.

Eerste 2 stops voor snorkelen waren zwak, de vissen die we zagen of riffen van de 1ste stop waar we naartoe gingen waren helaas niet wat we ervan verwachte. 2de stop hebben we dan ook enkel en alleen maar zeesterren gezien maar dan ook niets anders. Laatste stop was de enige dat de moeite was met de roggen en barracuda die we zagen. 1 persoonlijk groot minpunt: het feestje op de boot, veel te luide muziek (pijnlijk aan de oren zelfs melding op mijn horloge van +90 deb)

Goed weer of slecht weer de excursie gaat door. Wij hebben de hele dag regen gehad icm onweer aan het begin van de dag. Ook met onweer het bootje op gegaan de zee op. Ik heb op dat moment doodsangsten uitgetsaan en begrijp ook niet dat de excursie niet geannuleerd is. Ik vond het niet verantwoordelijk wat ze deden. Snorkelen op zich zelf was daarin tegen wel weer heel mooi. Wel geeft tui op voorhand aan dat de snorkel uitrusting erbij zit. Je krijgt een bril met snorkel, maar geen flippers.

Diese Ausflug war auch sehr gut organisiert und eben so fließend durchgeführt. Waren viele schöne Unterwasser-Momenten präsentiert. So insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das Essen in einheimische Restaurant war auch sehr lecker. Aber die Preisen für Foto und Videoaufnahme sind extrem übertrieben teuer. Es wird einfach ausgenutzt, dass die Touriesten die Erlebnis-Momente mitnehmen möchten.

The whole experience felt very disorganised. We were going between guides constantly. Eventually we made it to the boat. But then when we finally got on we had to wait for ages to leave and we're Eventually moved to another boat. Another group that was with us left 30 mins before us which really cut in to the activity time as we had been told we had to catch a specific ferry back to the mainland. This was the best day out we had in all. Fantastic guide, very well organised, underwater photos taken and package was good price for the amount you got. Saw reef, starfish, turtle and stingrays. Food brilliant, had fruit snack and drinks in a beautiful location in the sea and lovely lunch after in restaurant. Would highly recommend this day out, brilliant.

Het is een heel lange dag voor 3 korte snorkel momentjes. De eerste stop is echt waardeloos, de 2e ok als je nog nooit zeesterren gezien hebt en de 3e is top; heel toeristisch maar toch top om de roggen tegen je aan te voelen. Maar overall: te lang en duur voor alleen dat.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. Having never snorkelled, this was the perfect introduction with deeper sea snorkelling in the reef, shallower snorkelling to see star fish and then some time in 1m deep water for a ‘sea picnic’ and time with stingray. Organisation was excellent however we were told we would have time to explore Cozumel which we didn’t. Maybe a later ferry back or less time for the picnic could improve this already amazing experience.

We loved this trip. The guide on our boat Rodrigo was brilliant, he knew where to snorkel to see all the animals and he was both knowledgable and funny. We had snacks on a paddle board “table “ floating at sea with stingrays swimming by! An unforgettable experience.

Loved this trip excellent all round. Felt very safe and the trip was well organised - the snorkelling was excellent although the reef was not as I had imagined we still saw numerous fish species, the starfish were huge and we also saw 4 stingrays at the stop but the last stop was incredible to see and be in the water with the stingrays....this was the last trip of our holiday and we all loved it ! Wir waren mehr mit Guide suchen und warten beschäftigt. 11 Stunden Ausflug davon 30 min..Schnorcheln, 10 min bei den Seestern und 50 min was absolut zu viel war bei der Sandbank davon den Snack nicht der Rede Wert. Die Bootsfahrt eine Qual mit Dauer Beschallung so laut, daß man danach Kopfschmerzen hat. Mit uns nicht nochmal. PREIS dafür viel zu hoch .

Some of the other guests were very rude and objectionable to the guides. This was unnecessary behaviour from the other tourists. The guides remained very professional and calm in difficult circumstances. Regarding the trip, I feel the loud music detracted from the natural beauty of the surroundings. After having a snack at the snorkelling site, I’m not sure that lunch was necessary particularly before a rocky ferry trip back to Playa del Carmen. All in all an excellent trip that we all enjoye

We kregen totaal niet wat we geboekt hadden. De excursie kwam niet overheen met de afspraken en beelden zoals getoond door de tui medewerker waar we de excursie geboekt hadden. Tui besteed deze excursie uit aan een derde partij. Dat zijn de oplichters. Wij hebben de excursie afgebroken en zijn op eigen kosten terug gegaan naar het hotel. Daar ons gemeld bij de tui medewerker en deze gaat ons helpen ons geld terug te krijgen. Dus tui medewerkers zijn top. Maar de derde partij zijn zeer slecht

Lack of information Guides did not speak English or limited Left to our own devices to find our way to Cozumel and back Lack of shade so burnt - not allowed to go onto the boat for shade Restaurant- very hot and noisy - they refused to move us away from the kitchen despite places Once off the ferry to Playa del carmen - no one to meet us. No one knew what to do. No mini bus. I found someone from the company, he made calls and we were led to the transport! Not acceptable - stranded!

Ein wenig mehr Schnorchelzeit hätte uns besser gefallen, so fühlten wir uns etwas getrieben. Der Aufenthalt auf der Sandbank könnte dafür verkürzt werden. Was schade ist, war die mangelhafte Umziehmöglichkeit nach der Bootstour. Gut gefallen hat uns das Ambiente, v.a. das Boot und die Besatzung. Wir haben auch das Glück gehabt, bei der 1.Station eine tauchende Meeresschildkröte und einen Ammenhai zu entdecken. Sehr beeindruckend, solche Tiere in Freiheit in ihrem Revier erleben zu dürfen.

Spots magnifiques, mais la qualité de la prestation n’était pas là : difficultés à trouver les bons interlocuteurs à la sortie de la navette, du ferry et pour le reprendre. Trop d’interlocuteurs différents (heureusement, agréables). Bateau trop chargé : nous étions quasiment trente entassés presque les uns sur les autres, nous en avons vu d’autres moins chargés et avons regretté notre choix de prestataire. Pas assez de temps dans l’eau sur les 2 premières zones.

When the boat arrived at the destination was beautiful and great experience. Biggest problem for us was it being miss sold. Very unorganised/mad rush trying to organise people and get to the ferry, then to the experience the other side. Then mental everyone on the boat want happy with the crazy 50 mph ride for 40 mins someone even had a panic attack on the way back, didn’t feel safe and defo wouldn’t have taken my 6 year old daughter if I had known. They didn’t even have a life jacket for her!!!

The photo options were quite expensive. There were no toilet facilities, apart from on the ferry, with teenage daughters this was difficult. No opportunity to reapply sunscreen, for a day of water activities this is vital. Difficult to get changed. Boat ride and entertainment was excellent, snorkeling was fun.

Trip was strak geregeld. Snorkelen was prachtig om te doen, verzorging van voedsel op een surfplank fantastisch. De prijs voor foto’s van meer dan 100 dollar ronduit belachelijk.

Most the day was just spent travelling. Hotel to ferry, ferry to boat, boat to site 1. Only 30 mins snorkelling and not great site to snorkel. Boat ride to site 2, starfish site, only 20 mins but to be honest it’s only starfish there and much else happening. Coatbridge again to site no 3 for 45 mins. Best bit of the day with stingrays. But not much else. Then boat ride back to ferry. Lunch was disappointing. Only had an hour to walk around Cozumel. The all the travelling back to the hotel.

Der Preis für den Ausflug ist ziemlich hoch. Es könnte gern noch ein Schnorchelstopp mehr sein. Die Guides waren aber echt cool drauf. Wir haben beim Schnocheln sehr viel entdecken können. Das Picknick im Wasser war auch eine coole Idee. Danke für das tolle Erlebnis.

Das Schnorcheln und Boot fahren waren traumhaft. Die Guides waren immer darauf bedacht, dass alle gut versorgt waren. Durch die Aufmerksamkeit beim Schnorcheln, konnte unser Guide uns eine Schildkröte sowie weiter tolle Tiere unter Wasser zeigen. Die Begegnungen mit Seesternen und Rochen war magisch. Allerdings sollte man unbedingt UV Sichere Schwimmkleidung tragen. Wir vergaßen diese und zogen uns im laufe des Tages einen Sonnenbrand 2. Grades zu…

Very good staff on the boat, really enjoyed the snorkeling. However before we got on the boat there was a lot of standing around and roll calls. The meals could have been chosen when the tickets were purchased and saved at least half an hour. The taxi trip back was also disorganised standing around again for half an hour with another roll call. Overall a enjoyable trip just needs better organising

This was advertised as a snorkelling trip in 3 different locations. The first location was good but too much emphasis was put on staying together in a really close group where you were swimming on top of each other and all because they were trying to get photos to sell you, I would have preferred to be given a little more space so I could probably explore. The second location was really sub par then but the third they had taken away the snorkelling equipment when there were sting rays to see.

- Tourabkauf wurde von Angelika (TUI) nicht korrekt erzählt - Zwei mal würde man an Souvenir Shops ausgesetzt - Nach der Überfahrt zu Cozumel standen wir 30 Minuten in der Sonne und mussten zum Boot mit kompletter Schnorcheln Ausrüstung etc laufen - Auf dem Speedboat waren 28 Touristen plus 3 Tourguides - Es war überhaupt kein Platz auf dem Boot - Bei den Schnorchelstops war es sehr hektisch und es müsste alles schnell gehen - Tourguide war nicht wie ausgemacht vor der Fähre sondern kam nicht

The waiting time was very unsatisfactory - the boat was way over crowded - the lunch was very poor - overall very poor value for money - we paid around 180 USD per head, I believe 50USD would have been the most I would paid if I had known what to expect - the information about the trip and the boat was almost non existent from the TUi rep - I feel like I have been ripped off and would not recommend TUi excursions to other travellers

The boat crew were amazing, we went to three different snorkelling spots and had ceviche and fruit in the sea with the sting rays. Lunch was tasty big portions. The transport back the hotels after the ferry needs organising better. Would definitely recommend this trip

Amazing. Crew - Herson (sorry if spelled incorrectly) El Capitane, Alexis and our Photographer (sorry missed your name) fantastic. Great service, safety, saw lots of marine life on all stops. Final stop - sun, sea, adult beverage (non-alcoholic available) snacks of a paddle board whilst in the waist high warm water and dancing to tunes from boat! Doesn't get much better than that! Lunch and an optional guided tour both fab. Don't forget sunblock out in sun+++.

Was onduidelijk uitgelegd en duurde te lang voordat we de veerpont op gingen. op cozimel duurde het ook veel te lang omdat iedereen zijn eten voor de lunch moest doorgeven. 6.20 uur opgehaald en om 09.20 stonden we nog in een winkel voor uitleg. Vervolgens ging de snorkeltocht op de catamaran niet door en werden het 2 speedboten wat heel erg jammer was. En het was veel te ruig op het water waardoor een aantal personen ziek werden. Het rif viel ook erg tegen, wel roggen gezien.

It wasnt a catamaran that we went on, it was a speedboat, so the experience was not the same as sold. The description was also a free bar and this was not the case, you got 2 drinks. There was alot of hanging around, waiting to be picked up to go to the boats etc. It just wasnt what was sold or expected. We could have walked to the town and got the ferry across ourselves. We did make the most of it though and the staff were brilliant, friendly, fun and formative, Great day had.

Trevlig guide och fin snorkling! God mexikansk lunch. På det hela en toppen dagen. Det enda negativa var att det var en del väntan innan vi kom i väg på snorklingen.

Na deze excursie te hebben geboekt kwamen we erachter dat dit precies hetzelfde is als de excursie die je bij locale mexicanen kunt boeken alleen dan bijna 2x zo duur. Jullie als Tui zeggen dat dit een exclusieve Tui excursie is maar dat is onzin, ik had liever het verschil aan fooi aan de gids en alle andere mexicanen gegeven dan Tui hiermee te laten verdienen.. de vrouw die ons hielp op het resort was ook mega ongeïnteresseerd. Al met al, niet bij Tui boeken maar bij locale mensen.

Schnorcheln war super Guide sehr freundlich, schade das es die Tour nicht in Deutsch gab. Auf dem Boot war das Team klasse freundlich und bemüht. Den Snack gab es auf der Sandbank leider wurde den Gästen die auf dem Boot blieben, Angst hatten vor den Rochen und nicht ins Wasser gegangen sind gar nicht angeboten und am Ende wurde es weggeworfen. Fand ich unmöglich. Hätten auch gern einen kleinen Snack bekommen. Nach dem Mittagessen gab es 3 Stunden Freizeit unmöglich in der prallen Mittagssonne.

Boat trip was very pleasant and staff were very helpful and informative. Steps on to the boat from snorkling very steep and not easy for older and less fit people. Meal provided on land was luke warm upon serving. Not clear we had to pay for drinks. Would have been good to see a short tour of San Migel.

I cannot stress enough to you how good this trip is in so few words We swam in the open sea reef in a tropical fish tank, then within feet of giant turtles, star fish and within inches of sting rays that played with us like puppies, whilst standing in waist High water, drinking refreshing drinks on a floating bar It was a full day on the boat with excellent staff, then back to shore in a popular Mexican restaurant The wife is petrified of open water and she loved it Not money motivated company!

Reisgids in cozumel was top maar voor de rest was het wat zoeken. Vrije tijd was beperkt maar goed genoeg in deze warmte. Boottrip en snorkelen was top. Eten en drinken ten top. Vriendlijke en hulpzame begeleiders op de boot.

Geen drinken tijdens boottocht, geen kleurrijk koraal en vissen gezien tijdens snorkelen zoals beloofd werd, geen maaltijd en zwemgelegenheid in hotel zoals beloofd werd, maar gewoon in barretje waar we dan ook nog uur op eten moesten wachten, geen uitstap gehad in stad zoals gezegd werd...kortom...geen waar voor je geld!
