Le cœur spirituel de la Catalogne, Montserrat est l'un des principaux lieux de pèlerinage d'Europe. Cette célèbre abbaye bénédictine occupe un emplacement remarquable au pied des formations rocheuses imposantes de la chaîne de montagnes de Montserrat, près de Barcelone, en Espagne. Vous aurez l'occasion de visiter la sacristie et de voir la statue de La Moreneta. Hugo, l'un de nos guides locaux experts, explique : "On pense qu'elle a été sculptée à Jérusalem dans les premières années du christianisme, la célèbre "Moreneta" ou Vierge noire est une statue sacrée en bois de la Vierge Marie et de l'enfant Jésus. La Vierge noire est l'un des plus importants lieux de pèlerinage d'Espagne."Tout d'abord, un train vous emmènera à plus de 700 mètres du plus grand monastère bénédictin d'Espagne. Vous bénéficierez d'un accès exclusif à la sacristie magnifiquement décorée et ne ferez pas la queue pour voir la statue de la Moreneta. Le complexe du monastère se compose de plusieurs bâtiments, dont la basilique, la sacristie, les stalles du chœur, la bibliothèque et le musée. La basilique a été construite au XIXe siècle et constitue un excellent exemple d'architecture néogothique. Le monastère est également connu pour sa chorale de garçons renommée, l'Escolania de Montserrat, qui remonte au 14e siècle, ce qui en fait l'une des plus anciennes d'Europe.Tout en visitant le monastère, vous pourrez déguster la liqueur d'herbes fabriquée par les moines et assister à la toute nouvelle présentation audiovisuelle interactive sur l'histoire de Montserrat. Ne manquez pas non plus d'acheter des billets pour le funiculaire qui mène au sommet, d'où l'on a une vue phénoménale sur la vallée du Llobregat.

Excellent day on the whole. Very interesting. The place was amazing. Thought we got a lot included for the price. Only niggle would be that we were first pick up, and by the time the last people were collected, we'd already been on the bus for an hour. This made for nearly 5 hours on the bus in total with the return journey. Maybes needs to be mentioned at the time of booking, so expectations can be managed.

Mike the guide was great very thorough made it easy to understand where to go and what times to be where you needed to be also very nice chap ,the place itself is beautiful amazing views it's a must do to go on the funicular railway to the top the views are breathtaking one thing to note if your legs aren't great it is a little hard up there

We loved this excursion. Very well organised. Our rep Teresa is an exceptional guide. She has so much knowledge. The only thing we didn't get told was the funicular ride to the very top was an extra £16 each. Teresa took payment on coach in cash only. I did voice my concerns about not being told about this and she did say we could pay by card at ticket office when we got there. The whole day was thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

An incredible trip with impeccable service from driver and guide. Our guide made sure we knew everything we needed, even when temp handing us over to monetary staff for the tour. The scenery here is magical, plenty of places to sit and explore. The little market was wonderful too. Loved we got to go up on train and drive down so we saw the whole mountain more or less too. Absolutely recommend!

Mike the tour guide welcomed us on the coach and explained the day clearly and we felt safe in his hands . The driver also drove very safely in some winding roads down the mountain . Amazing views and an excellent day out .

The overall trip was amazing, unfortunately the TUI rep wasn’t , she didn’t explain anything about the trip when got to the destination, we have audio and visual tickets and also the liquor tasting , as we had no idea of where or how to use them they was wasted , the tour guide for the behind the scenes was amazing he explained everything in amazing detail and made sure everyone got to see everything. The TUI rep was good on the bus with giving the history of the areas , the driver was amazing

This was the highlight of our holiday. Our Tui guide Michael and our guide in the Monastery were both very informative and attentive. Their wealth of knowledge really added to the trip. The monastery tour and mountain views really were sights to behold and we highly recommend anyone to make this trip part of their holiday. The funicular to the peak is a must too! You can arrange this on the day. I do not like heights at all but I promise it is worth it. Breath taking views.

Great day out! Teresa our guide was so knowledgable and gave us loads of facts and history about Montserrat and the local area. The trip was really well organised with plenty of free time to explore - we had a ride on the funicular train and walked to one of the viewing points. The tour of the basilica was amazing, highly recommended!

We took the trip from Salou. Great experience in general, worth booking. The chapel tour is interesting and informative, staff is very helpful. We booked funicular tickets in advance, but the guide sorted it out for those who didn't. It's worth going up, sights are lovely, but time is too short to do everything. It's either the summit trip, or the museums. Could have used another 2 hours.

Lovely experience however wish we had more time to explore the walking trails. Not the best value for money as you have to pay for the funicular but beautiful place to visit with a very knowledgeable tour both on and off the bus

Booked the Electric Go-Karting - this was fab. Pretty short time on the track but was a fun, quick activity that doesn't take up a large chunk of your holiday. Would recommend it. Montserrat- beautiful. Is definitely a place for rambling, but we weren't sure on distances and times etc and wanted to ensure we had time for our tour and not miss the bus back. Lovely tranquil place.

The TUI Rep Eniko was fantastic, very professional, helpful and nice. She recommended a boat tour with fireworks show which was unforgettable. The other TUI Rep on the Montserrat excursion was very good as well: well organised and protective, but also Christopher at the airport continued with the very good service from TUI. Also TUI picked a very good good hotel for us - H10 Salauris Palace - spacious, clean, friendly and helpful staff, good day and evening entertainment.

Fantastic experience. Beautiful place, stunning views and staff and guide were friendly and knowledgeable. A must see if you are visiting catalonia. Only slight down side was we were first pick up and last drop off so made the transfer a little long otherwise excellent.

A lovely trip to a beautiful place. Our TUI rep for the trip, Isabel was from Tarragona and very knowledgeable about the places on the journey there and about Montserrat itself. The mountains, buildings and histroy wheer breathtaking. Wedidn't use the funicular railway so the free time was maybe a little bit too much but a great trip. I would really recommend it

Loved this trip, included a tour with a local guide “behind the scenes”. The basilica is beautiful. Amazing views. It is very much a religious site but not in an austere, unwelcoming way. The surrounding mountain has some lovely walks too.

This was the best excursion we did on the holiday. Montserrat is amazing, the journey up and visit inside the monastery. We paid extra to do the funicular right to the top of the mountain and it was worth it. We had plenty of time to fully explore and lots of information from the guide. It was an amazing day and worth every penny.

A lovely tour. The rep, Michael was fabulous, very knowledgeable and helpful. Montserrat is beautiful, but there is a bit of walking & stairs to do. We have difficulties walking but managed ok, there’s plenty time to go slow. They charge entry to the basilica, which is not included. It’s worth paying for tho as it’s beautifu. Madonna, vestry and other things are included though so we weren’t disappointed. A trip in the funicular is a must tho. The views are amazing. Well worth a visit.

Pick up was prompt, good explanation of the day and fun and friendly guide Teresa and driver. The day was well organised and informative. The train journey was safe and easy to use, (don't forget your mask for this bit still). The Monestry was amazing and with an added TUI extra behide the sense experience, fantastic. The Venicaila train was an added bonus so was the footage of the day of a monk. Overall a wonderful experince.
