Lao people have been consuming bamboo shoots for years and recipes have been passed down through many generations.The cooking class begins with learning how to pound rice to get rid of the husks. Next, the resident chef will show you how to make sticky rice and some of the most famous bamboo dishes like ‘Kaeng Naw Mai’ (bamboo soup), stuffed bamboo shoots with minced pork, and spicy fermented bamboo shoot sauce with sticky rice.
