Somiedo Natural Park day-trip from Oviedo and Gijon

Join a tour of the Somiedo Natural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2000. This area, one of the first protected spaces in Asturias since 1988, is one of the best-preserved in northern Spain. With 29,164 hectares, the park offers a unique environment that perfectly reflects the ethnography of the Asturian mountains.The tour begins with a visit to the Alto de la Farrapona mountain pass. You will also visit Pola de Somiedo, the capital of the council, a charming Asturian village hidden among the mountains since the 13th century, located by the Somiedo River.
