Esta famosa abadía benedictina ocupa un lugar privilegiado al pie de las imponentes formaciones rocosas de la sierra de Montserrat, cerca de Barcelona (España). Tendrá la oportunidad de visitar la Sacristía y ver la estatua de la Moreneta. Hugo, uno de nuestros expertos guías locales, nos cuenta: "Se cree que fue tallada en Jerusalén en los primeros años del cristianismo, la famosa Moreneta o Virgen Negra es una estatua sagrada de madera de la Virgen María y el niño Jesús. La Virgen Negra es uno de los lugares de peregrinación más importantes de España".En primer lugar, un tren le subirá más de 700 metros hasta el mayor monasterio benedictino de España. Disfrutará de acceso exclusivo a la sacristía, bellamente decorada, y se saltará la cola para ver la estatua de La Moreneta. El complejo del monasterio consta de varios edificios: la basílica, la sacristía, la sillería del coro, la biblioteca y el museo. La basílica se construyó en el siglo XIX y es un excelente ejemplo de arquitectura neogótica. El monasterio también cuenta con un renombrado coro de niños, la Escolanía de Montserrat, que data del siglo XIV, lo que la convierte en una de las más antiguas de Europa.Mientras lo visita, podrá degustar el licor de hierbas que elaboran los monjes y ver la nueva presentación audiovisual interactiva sobre la historia de Montserrat. Y no se pierda la oportunidad de comprar billetes para el funicular hasta la cima: las vistas del valle del Llobregat desde arriba son fenomenales.

An absolutely stunning place...Our guide, Michael, was excellent. He was very personable, approachable, informative and helpful. We really enjoyed the day, and with Michael as our guide, we felt confident and assured that if we had any problems, we could approach him. Thankfully the day was perfect. The views are amazing and the architecture is breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this trip for all ages.

The guide wasn't good she didn't make sure everyone could hear what she was saying we were at the back the only thing we all heard was what time to be on the coach, ,only when we returned to the coach did we realise the tickets she gave us were for the tasting had no idea about this ,the scenery and basilica were fantastic but not impressed with Tracy

Guide very informative and helpful. Very good command of the English language . She was able to explain everything in an interesting manner. The bus trip was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The bus driver turned up on time and was a good driver. Overall we had a lovely day out. Montserrat i s a beautiful place, spectacular scenery no doubt.

The excursion was incredible, fantastic sightseeing once in a lifetime experience at that monastery, really good value for money with train ride adventure thrown in too. Really nice Rep throughout the day very good in explaining the history and very friendly and funny throughout the day, highly recommended the trip and Teresa our fab guide.

Enjoyed the whole experience, but if we had known once we got off the funicular railway we would have a walk along the cliff to Saint Joan, we would not have gone on the funicular. Please let other visitors be aware of that.

A great opportunity. The museum with guide & video was very interesting inc. artifacts. Services were readily available & clean. Liquor sampling was good along with tasty edible goods at market stalls/shop. Tram to monastery had amazing views. Little zip car up to summit was bit pricey for 15 minutes at the top as had to get back for bus at 4pm. There are lots of walks available at top so a more time would have been worth the money. TUI skip line and private guide tour 5 star.

Excellent day on the whole. Very interesting. The place was amazing. Thought we got a lot included for the price. Only niggle would be that we were first pick up, and by the time the last people were collected, we'd already been on the bus for an hour. This made for nearly 5 hours on the bus in total with the return journey. Maybes needs to be mentioned at the time of booking, so expectations can be managed.

Mike the guide was great very thorough made it easy to understand where to go and what times to be where you needed to be also very nice chap ,the place itself is beautiful amazing views it's a must do to go on the funicular railway to the top the views are breathtaking one thing to note if your legs aren't great it is a little hard up there

We loved this excursion. Very well organised. Our rep Teresa is an exceptional guide. She has so much knowledge. The only thing we didn't get told was the funicular ride to the very top was an extra £16 each. Teresa took payment on coach in cash only. I did voice my concerns about not being told about this and she did say we could pay by card at ticket office when we got there. The whole day was thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

Superb trip. Teresa a fantastic guide. Service we got was fantastic. Fastpass was great. We had a fantastic day. Trip around Monsteraat fantastic. Would recommend. If you have difficulty with steps it might restrict what you can do but overall it was a fantastic trip and day out. both guides were very knowledgable and a lovely driver. Would recommend for all ages. Had a fantastic tour behind the scenes of the cathedral

Theresa, our tui guide was professional, entertaining, kind, funny, informative and highly motivated. She clearly had a great knowledge and deep respect of Monseratt and its historic, cultural and religous signifiance. Our bus driver also (manell, i think) was a true gentleman and professinal, safe driver. Great trip.

An incredible trip with impeccable service from driver and guide. Our guide made sure we knew everything we needed, even when temp handing us over to monetary staff for the tour. The scenery here is magical, plenty of places to sit and explore. The little market was wonderful too. Loved we got to go up on train and drive down so we saw the whole mountain more or less too. Absolutely recommend!

Our party of 6 enjoyed absolutely everything about the trip, don't think there's any improvement needed. The driver Harry made you feel safe when he was driving & Mike the tour guide made it an enjoyable & informative trip. A special mention must be made about Mike who looked after our Mum when she became unwell during the trip due to the heat.

Mike the tour guide welcomed us on the coach and explained the day clearly and we felt safe in his hands . The driver also drove very safely in some winding roads down the mountain . Amazing views and an excellent day out .

The day of our visit TUI were made aware of a power outage in Montserrat at 9:30am. We would have only been leaving the La Pineda area. We should have been told at that stage & give the option to change booking dates. However we were not told until 13:15 when we arrived for our tour of the Monastery. We had rushed the visit on the train to the top of the mountain to be at the meeting place at 13:15 & were left in limbo until 3pm when we were told about the power outage. Restaurant also closed

The overall trip was amazing, unfortunately the TUI rep wasn’t , she didn’t explain anything about the trip when got to the destination, we have audio and visual tickets and also the liquor tasting , as we had no idea of where or how to use them they was wasted , the tour guide for the behind the scenes was amazing he explained everything in amazing detail and made sure everyone got to see everything. The TUI rep was good on the bus with giving the history of the areas , the driver was amazing

This was the highlight of our holiday. Our Tui guide Michael and our guide in the Monastery were both very informative and attentive. Their wealth of knowledge really added to the trip. The monastery tour and mountain views really were sights to behold and we highly recommend anyone to make this trip part of their holiday. The funicular to the peak is a must too! You can arrange this on the day. I do not like heights at all but I promise it is worth it. Breath taking views.

Great day out! Teresa our guide was so knowledgable and gave us loads of facts and history about Montserrat and the local area. The trip was really well organised with plenty of free time to explore - we had a ride on the funicular train and walked to one of the viewing points. The tour of the basilica was amazing, highly recommended!

We took the trip from Salou. Great experience in general, worth booking. The chapel tour is interesting and informative, staff is very helpful. We booked funicular tickets in advance, but the guide sorted it out for those who didn't. It's worth going up, sights are lovely, but time is too short to do everything. It's either the summit trip, or the museums. Could have used another 2 hours.

Great
Lovely experience however wish we had more time to explore the walking trails. Not the best value for money as you have to pay for the funicular but beautiful place to visit with a very knowledgeable tour both on and off the bus

An absolutely fantastic day. Michael was a brilliant guide. Informative and welcoming. The views both of montserrat and on montserrat are second to none. Just a fabulous day.

The trip was very rushed didnt see parts of the basilica we wanted to. The funicular extra was total waste of money.

Trip was very enjoyable and well worth a visit, Mike the guide was very informative and helpful planning everything out from the coach journey, to the short train ride up the mountain and even sorting out an extra trip on the funicular to the top of the mountain.
