Expensive when addition fees were needed on top for Eagles Nest. There was an hour lost waiting for the Eagles Nest bus in the car park, that hour would have been good to have more time up there, or in Berchtesgaden as we got approx 1hr in both. This felt poor value for money for so little time in the places we were visiting.

George, our guide was very knowledgable and made the trip so much more interesting. A beautiful coach ride through the countryside. On arrival, the bus service up to eagle's nest is very well organised. You are given a time and bus number and 4 buses leave to go up as 4 leave to come down. Beautiful views from the top and a small gallery tells the story of how it was built. Then just over an hour in Berchtesgarten which is a small, pretty village. Long enough to eat or stroll around the shops

Having previously enjoyed the Berchtesgaden experience on a previous Tui holiday including a visit to the Eagles Nest we decided to book this time just with a view to get to know Berchtesgaden better without the extra expense of the visit to the Eagles Nest and we did our own tour of the Town itself and this proved very worthwhile and enjoyable. Retail shops proved very popular with my wife and we had a lovely lunch in one of the many cafe/restaurants. We would have no hesitation in recommending

Enjoyed the trip very much. I think communication regarding not having to print the tickets out beforehand and also taking passports needs to be more clearer, a text on the morning of the trip isn’t ideal! Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Very expensive trip for what it was. £172 for 4 adults plus another €100 for entry to the salt mines. Once this was done very little else to do for 3 hours around Berchtesgaden. For c£250 we expect a bit more.

The scenery was outstanding. The trip was quite rushed. Longer at Berchtesgaden would have been nice- extra half hour.

We enjoyed everything about this tour especially the tour guide Max and our driver. The best part was walking to the very top of the mountain (at Berchtesgaden) and looking at the spectacular views. We would definately recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see snow capped mountains in June. Please note that you will need to purchase admission tickets for this trip or if you pick the Salt mines. There is also an option of the town visit for 5 hours instead.

Great

Knowledgeable, friendly and well organised guide. Bus pick up at Zell very handy but rest of the trip had to pay extra for entrance to Eagle's nest (which we were aware of) or salt mines. It's a difficult day trip to do from Zell independently so I would recommend it. The Eagle"s nest is a must see!

Great

The guide Georg and driver Peter were great as on previous trip. But this is basically a very expensive coach trip. It does warn you that the salt mine or Eagle's nest will be extra but seriously over 55 euros per couple! It's over 60 euros for the Eagles nest and has to be paid in cash. The Grossglockner trip is same price with no nasty extras and you get several photo stops , time to explore and a guide all day. The trip to Berchtesgaden should be a lot cheaper for just going to the town.

Essentially an expensive bus ride to Berchtesgaden. You have to decide if you want to stay in the Village (free), go to Salt mine ( extra cost) or go to Eagles Nest (extra cost). We went to Eagles Nest extra cost was 31 euro per person, although at 15 considered a child to book the holiday when booking any excursions it appears he is now an adult as over 12, so for three of us it cost 240 euro. It was overall a good experience, we caught good weather so had great views when up there.

The view on the Eagle's Nest is amazing so it is definitely worth the trip. But it should be made clear that extra charge is applied so the customers would know what to expect.

Salt mines were great, would have been nice to be able to do both eagles nest and salt mines like in previous years ! the trip should include admission but it doesn’t … so essentially all it provides is a very expensive bus ticket to the destination.

Excellent trip. Not enough time to do both the Salt Mines and the Eagles Nest which was a pity. We shall just need to go back! Our guide Georg was very knowledgeable. The town of Berchtesgaden is beautiful. Beware that you need cash and it would be useful of TUI to make you aware of that in the booking confirmation.

Great

Very good guiding from Max. You need to have a mask on the bus up to the eagles nest., which we hadn't been informed. Could do with building in the cost of entry to the excursion. Extremely memorable day visiting this scenic, sobering place. Berchesgarden itself is also well worth a visit, lovely Bavarian buildings and local food.

The staff were friendly and professional, especialthe waiter we had for the week ,and the breakfast chef. The hotel was in a good location. Hotel clean , choice of pillows, fresh towels daily. Great pool and spa. Food was great, excellent quality with plenty of choices. My only small issue is that unless you were ordering alcohol with your evening meal you couldn't have tap water. The tui staff were available, kept you up to date , advised on trips etc in person, through the app or by mobile.

This was a good trip, a few folk got off at salt mine but most went to Eagles nest, Max the guide was highly informative on the history of the region, and this gave us an interesting background to the visit.. There was about an hour and a half after for a nice (pricey) lunch in Berchesgarden...

Unfortunately there was a bad accident on the road before picking us up so that made them 30 mins late. Because of this they decided they wanted to gain 15 mins back and made a decision that they weren't going to go to the salt mines. I think this should have been told to us customers before getting on the coach and allowed you to decide if you wanted to continue. However Berchesgarden is a lovely place and we did enjoy the day. Was hard to fill 4 hours if you weren't doing the nest.

Cost literally was for the coach trip and guide on board. Aware extra cost for Eagles Nest and Salt Mines, but not how much. Too expensive!! It would have been better to have these costs incorporated into the trip. Husband went to Eagles Nest and very disappointed. Literally a cafe. I went to Salt Mines. Enjoyable experience, but unaware the coach would only wait so many minutes, no info given for this and had to walk back up hill to the village, which was unacceptable considering age & heat!

Felt trip was overpriced. Max the guide was very helpful and interesting. Although outside TUI’s control we felt that the 28 euro transfer to the Eagles Nest was extortionate. When there, we were squashed so tightly into the lift that all we could see was the ceiling. This was very disappointing as it was billed as a highlight of the tour. Said we recommended the tour but in part that was because it is difficult to travel there independently.

Think the trip could be more flexible to take account of the weather. If we’d looked round Berchtesgaden in the morning and gone to the Eagle’s Nest in the afternoon-seeing as the weather forecast had predicted better weather in the afternoon-we would have been able to see something up there and not been so cold. It was a lot of money for a bus up to the top when we couldn’t see anything in front of our face!

The village is not worth seeing and you spend a long time there. Due to a bad storm the Eagles nest was closed. That is not the fault of TUI, but left only the salt mine. At an additional 21 euros, it is value for money, but very much 2nd choice. It has a train ride, a walking tour, a raft ride, so it's worth the money. Most of us felt had we known the eagles nest was closed we would not have done the tour. Big call out for TUIs Josh though, really great customer service. How hard he tries.
