The Habitat Penang Hill is a world-class rainforest discovery centre set on the fringes of an ancient rainforest. The park is a gateway to a treasure trove of diversity; over 2,500 wildlife species call this place home.The proceeds of the park go towards promoting innovative environmental and conservation initiatives via the Habitat Foundation. The Habitat Foundation was established in October 2017 as a sister organization to The Habitat Penang Hill. Please note that the Penang Hill funicular will be closed for annual safety maintenance on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with service resuming at 2:15 PM, and The Habitat Penang Hill will open from 2:30 PM.
Open daily from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm (last entry at 6.30 pm)
The ticket is valid for 6 months
The Habitat Café and Retail operation hours: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm daily
The Train's operating hours can range from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the crowd (peak or non-peak hour)
Visitors entering after 5:30 PM must purchase an Evening Walk add-on ticket at RM18 per person
Standard ticket holders (non-Evening Walk) must exit the park by 7:00 PM
Evening Walk visitors can exit any time via the main entrance, with the park closing at 9:00 PM
Sunset views and Night Walk experiences are subject to weather conditions and not guaranteed
When weather permits, Evening Walk visitors can enjoy the sunset and join a complimentary Night Walk
The Night Walk begins at Curtis Crest around 7:45 PM, lasts approximately one hour, and ends at the main entrance by 8:45 PM
