What we expect

Auf dieser Tour lernen Sie nicht nur Griechenland besser kennen, sondern können sich einbringen und der Insel Skiathos etwas zurückgeben. Zu den Höhepunkten gehören der Besuch im Hundeheim der Insel, eine geführte Wanderung in den Bergen und eine griechische Kochvorführung durch einen Dorfbewohner in Agia Paraskevi.

Zu Beginn des Tages besuchen Sie das berühmte Hundeasyl von Skiathos in den Hügeln oberhalb von Troulos. Verbringen Sie einige Zeit im Tierheim und begleiten Sie unseren Guide auf einem einstündigen Spaziergang durch die Hügel. Im Anschluss daran besuchen Sie Maria in ihrem Haus in Agia Paraskevi. Maria ist in Skiathos geboren und aufgewachsen und...

A bit longer walking the dogs, we only got about 20 minutes, I know it was quite hot but another 10 to 14 minutes would have been better, apart from that it was a great trip, Mike our guide was very knowledgeable and funny at the same time, the people at the dog shelter were great and we got to meet the puppies after the walk. The Greek cooking demo with Maria was excellent and the food she served us for lunch was lovely, highly recommended

Michael our guide was lovely & friendly. I loved the dog shelter & walking Kiki. Maria gave a fabulous demonstration & shared her journey on becoming a chef, providing for her family, her cooking menus & what fsmily means to her. The lunch was wonderful.

The guide was excellent - the shelter itself well run and organised with friendly people - the dogs are obviously very well looked after and then we had a really lovely meal at the end - we couldn’t fault it

Cookery demo and food amazing. Fresh salad, bread, feta pastry triangles, stuffed peppers and tomatoes and Greek yoghurt with preserved syrupy carrot topping (sounds strange but lovely). Bottle of water plus choice of wine, beer or soft drink. So much food. Very informative cooking demo from Maria. TUI guide very friendly too (Michael). Dog walk was good too - quite short but so it should be in this heat. Would recommend this excursion.

We were travelling as a family of 5 from the ages of 12 to 57 and everyone had the most amazing day. From being picked up our guide Michael was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The dog walk was fabulous we all enjoyed our visit to the sanctuary. Maria’s cookery class was superb as was the food served afterwards. An all round great experience for everyone, thoroughly recommend.

I bought a few excursions on the TUI app before I got to Skiathos. This was a mistake, because when I went to the rep meeting, I found out that there much better ones to do.

We had an excellent day. And would recommend this. Visiting the Dog sanctuary was fun and the cookery class afterwards was excellent. ??

The trip lasted 6 hrs in total you need to give exact timings not just say it’s 1/2 a day , also no toilets at the dog sanctuary customers need to be informed of this , Maria gave an excellent cookery demonstration and Micheal the guide was entertaining !! And overall we had a good day , !!

Loved the dog rescue Sorry to say the walk from the coach to the cookery demonstration was very difficult as I have mobility issues, it was 15mins in the mid day sun! I was given a lift back by the lovely Marie’s son. The demonstration was really good and her food gorgeous.

Would have been nicer to walk the dogs a little longer or taken another one out. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Cooking experience and lunch were very interesting and tasty, fantastic setting too. The guide, Michael, was an absolute gem. He kept everyone entertained and was very funny and extremely nice.

It was lovely to see the dogs and take them for a walk. The cookery demonstration was very good and easy to follow. The food that we were given was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our transfer was late picking us up however the guide was apologetic about this. He was very informative and funny. The dog shelter was amazing, the staff are very professional and the dogs are very well looked after. Lunch at Maria's was lovely and we really enjoyed being shown how to make certain dishes. My only criticism was the dog walk was a bit short however we have a dog and are used to long walks so this is just personal preference as the walk needs to suit the dogs and all customers

All went very smoothly. We loved seeing the dogs and taking them for a walk. Maria's cooking demonstration was very easy to follow and informative and she made the food seem mouthwatering The following meal of food cooked was a very good idea and was delicious.

we would like to have taken the dogs for a longer walk and had a copy of the group photograph taken by the Dog Shelter staff The cookery demonstration was excellent as was the lunch.

The whole trip was excellent and the walking of the dogs and visiting the dog sanctuary was a treat. The greek cookery class and food phase of the trip was also excellent.

The experience was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The dogs were gorgeous. Everything was so well organised. The lunch afterwards was delicious. It was fascinating watching how it was prepared. The best day of our holiday!

Trip to the dog shelter was a lovely experience but it should be made clear that a reasonable level of mobility is needed for both the dog walk and further walk from the bus to the restaurant. The cooking demo and lunch was well done, generous portions of food and drink and enjoyed mixing with other guests
