1. Head up high to Kavala Fortress

Perched high above the city, this Medieval fortress offers some of the best panoramic views you’ll get in Kavala. It's a must-see for a taste of the city’s past and present — it was built by the Byzantines and expanded by the Ottomans — with the added treat of balmy Aegean vistas.

2. Stroll around the Old Town of Panagia

The old town of Panagia is full of charm and history. Take a walk through its narrow, cobbled streets and check out the mix of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture. And, make sure to stop by the Imaret, a former Islamic complex turned luxury hotel – it offers a glimpse into the area’s Ottoman heritage.

3. Snap photos of the Aqueduct Kamares

You can’t miss the Kamares Aqueduct, it’s one of the standout landmarks in Kavala. Built in the 16th century to bring water to the city back in the day, this double-arched beauty showcases some seriously impressive engineering. Plus, it’s a total photo magnet, especially when the evening light hits just right.
