Explore Jiefangbei Central Business District

Jiefangbei Central Business District (CBD) is Chongqing’s buzzing core. It’s a lively hub of soaring skyscrapers, luxury shopping malls and top-notch restaurants. Right in the middle stands the iconic People’s Liberation Monument – a symbol of the city’s strength during World War II. The area buzzes with energy day and night, but really comes into its own after dark, when the skyline bursts into a display of lights – showing off the city’s bold, modern spirit.

Check out the Dazu Rock Carvings

The Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcase the city’s Buddhist heritage. Dating all the way back to the 7th century, these detailed carvings bring to life scenes and figures from Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. It’s an eye-opening glimpse into China’s spiritual past and the impressive skill of its ancient artists.

Visit Ciqikou Old Town

Step back in time with a wander through Ciqikou Old Town, one of Chongqing’s most atmospheric spots. This historic area is packed with traditional architecture, winding alleyways and cosy teahouses where you can sip local brews and nibble on regional snacks. Here, you can slow things down, soak up the old-world vibes and get a taste of what Chongqing was like in days gone by.
