Comfortable 4x4's. Knowledgeable guide. Saw the tourist sights, but trip could have benefitted from individual drivers giving info...about local culture, volcano info, volcanic rocks etc. Didn't like way we were took to only one shop...drink rum and only buy souvenir from there. Make sure you take plenty of fluid and if you have open sores/ severe sunburn...don't go into salt lake. Salt lake only really accessible for those who are mobile.

Our guide was great, he was very knowledgeable and made the experience a pleasure. We did the afternoon trip and one of the stops was the Blue Eye. This is not visible in the afternoons so should be taken off the afternoon trip as is pointless. Even the cafe was closing so we couldn’t get a drink. Our guide made the best of the tour however with his great personality. The fishing port was a waste of time as there was nothing to see. Overall it was good to see some of the island but needs change

Our driver Gill/Jill? Was really lovely and made us feel safe on our drive and helped us every time with our seat belt. The tour guide Ary was brilliant, really charismatic and helpful, made us feel well looked after and we loved the taste of Grog in the little shop he took us to. We loved the Salt Lake, Blue eye and the quick stop at the mirage. A great trip out and well worth the money.

Driver and tour guide were excellent - we did have an item of clothing go missing from the wooden shelves at the salt lake so I would recommend taking a bag that can zip up, fortunately we had removed the phone from the shorts pockets - the hotel rep did try to see if they had been found in lost property but not

Die Tour Sal Secrets 4x4 hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben uns auf der gesamten Fahrt im Wagen mit dem Fahrer George absolut sicher gefühlt. Wir waren als Familie zu 4 Personen unterwegs, im Wagen waren noch 2 andere sehr nette Touristen mit dabei. Unser Guide Heber war sehr kompetent und freundlich. Er hat uns viel erklärt und gerne zusätzliche Fragen beantwortet. Es war ein sehr gelungener Ausflug, das Highlight war für uns das Schwimmen im Salzsee!

Informative guide. Would have preferred one of the newer 4 x 4 vehicles. Blue Eye lacked organisation. A lot of time wasted there which impacted the timings of the mirage and Pedre de Lume. We were most looking forward to that and it was cut short. We only had 25 minutes from leaving the vehicle to returning to the vehicle. No where did it say there would be opportunities to purchase local products. I had only taken enough money for tips so was unable to support the locals.

It was all very rushed with little opportunity to look in the shops. 10-15 minutes in the salt lakes wasn’t long enough Generally it’s overpriced for what you get. I’d sooner have longer at the salt lakes than being given shots in a dark shop at 09.00 in the morning

The staff were absolutely amazing. My sister is disabled and struggled quite a bit but they helped her in and out of the jeep. I cannot praise them enough. If you are disabled then think twice but our guys were all amazing. Thank you from the tattooed lady and family. Big hugs. ??

Excellent trip, we were collected from our hotel and introduced to our guide Ary who was very knowledgeable and friendly, we toured to island and stopped at various locations along the way, we tried the local Grog, the blue eye was amazing and the salt lake was great fun and left your skin feeling very soft, great value for money would definitely recommend.

I booked this on the TUI app - it is not user friendly, I mistakenly clicked the wrong hotel to be picked up at. After waiting 30 minutes I went to find Christine the TUI rep at TUI Blue where we were staying- she tried to call the excursion to ask them to come back for us - sadly nobody answered her call so we were left very disappointed and lost our money. We could not even rearrange the excursion as we were coming home the following day. Several people said how bad the TUI app is for booking.

Hello, I think it is the best experience if you want to get to know Sal. It is much safer to travel within a car than sitting in the open cabin as we saw with non-TUI tours. We covered the main points and we were really lucky to be introduced to Murdeira as a first stop. Our guide - Stephen, told us its history and recommended to come to its beaches if we would want to snorkel. We enjoyed all the main sightseeing places and I think the tour was worth the money. Highly recommended. Best regards.

Collected in a Land Rover and sat on bench seats in the back with 4 of us in total so quite cramped. Taken to a bay to see Lion mountain and then spent 10 mins there-we we to a local bar and sat chatting to locals until the guide told us we were moving. Onto the port and then the blue eye (which we couldn’t see as it was only visible in the morning). The salt lakes were good and the guides helped some less mobile people by driving them down to the water. Enjoyed the sharks and catamaran more

It was at times (because of the wind and the language dialect) difficult to hear the information from the guide. Would be helpful if they had a portable microphone like other groups we saw on the trip Also it felt rushed, perhaps longer at the blue eye or salinas to have a pause and drink. The 4 x 4 was a little battered with the hand grip above the side door broken so difficult to stabalise especially off road terrain. Otherwise a very enjoyable trip.. Shout out to Sanchez ?? ????????

One downside, which I am aware is unavoidable, was not getting to see the blue eye due to it being a bit overcast, however, there was no option to return later in the day once the sun came out. Would also have liked a bit more time at the salt lakes as well.

The excursion packed quite a bit in, in quite a short space of time, it was very informative, and our guide Waldir was knowledgeable about the areas and very friendly. The roads around the island can be rough, so be prepared for a bumpy ride in parts, and the back seats can be a bit cramped, however the journeys were all relatively short, so it was not to much of an issue.

This was a perfect trip for us. Not too long, at about 4.5 hours, but we got to see all the major sights. Steph, our guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about local life, and had a good sense of humour. We weren’t forced to spend a lot of time shopping, which can sometimes be the case. The only negative was the Landrover 4 x 4 rear door wouldn't stay closed, and needed one of us to hold it closed. Come on TUI, for what you charge for these trips, please use a roadworthy vehicle!

Ended up booking tours twic (this wasn’t down to the rep it was down to your booking system) not receiving confirmations for Island tours and lemon shark experience meant these were booked twice, I am now awaiting repayment (I have an email from Zerrin Gairipcan confirming this. Secondly I ordered all day breakfasts however on my return,.mine lacked bacon and sausage. The steward was dismissive and said it would be re compensate in a drink which it was not.

A fantastic way to see part of the Island of Sal and learn about its history and current affairs with the very personable tour guide.
The tour ends with a chance to float in the Salt lake.
The jeep was an enclosed Land Rover which we were grateful for as you drive cross country in parts.

Really enjoyed this experience. I think it is very good value for money for the things you get to see. I would have maybe included lunch at the blue eye (of course at extra cost) as the restaurant would be buzzing with all the people coming through. But thoroughly enjoyable experience. Best bit was the salt lakes and the blue eye.

Great to get out an explore the island. Our guide was really friendly and great with our 7 year old son. Fun to ride off road in the 4x4. Amazing watching the wild waves at Buracona, sampling Grouge at 9am in Palmeira, floating in the salt lake on an volcano crater at Pedra Lume.

What an amazing fun and enjoyable excursion with a very friendly guide Stefan. Really enjoyed being driven along the dirt track roads to visit all the sites. The icing on the cake was definitely floating in the salt lake. Can’t recommend this excursion enough.

Guide very knowleagable and professional. Learnt so much about the island of Sal. The tour was very personal as the group was small in size. Both the guide and the driver were very attentive and supportive to one of our party with mobility issues and couldn't do enough for them. The floating in the Salt lake was an amazing experience.
