From the start the guide and driver were amazing and friendly. His knowledge of the sites and the driving were spot on. The tour does take longer than 8 hours so expect to be out for about 10. The I could sites were worth the time you spend getting there and you have plenty of alone time to wonder on your own. If you like history and religion this tour is for you.

The Kairouan Holy City and El Jem (All day trip) was excellent from beginning to end. My husband and I were collected from our hotel on time. Our Guide, Hamedi, was excellent. He explained everything very well and clearly. Mr Bashir (driver) was an excellent driver - always felt safe. The visit to the Kairouan Mosque was great; it was really interesting to see. The buffet lunch was great too - plenty of food to choose from. For us, the Collosseum was 'the icing on the cake' - it was amazing!

Pick up was 30 minutes late, no communication. Everything else went smoothly. Could have done without carpet shop stop. Should have been told more about the amazing pools of Kairouan, described merely as a toilet stop and opportunity to take a photo. El Jem colosseum was amazing and the Great Mosque of Kairouan was well worth seeing

An excellent tour guided by Mohammed, who provided history and context to all we saw. We went first to the tanks at Kairouan, which were very interesting and then to the Zaouia of Sidi Sahabi, a 7th century pilgrimage site. The mosque at Kairouan is a world class site and of great cultural interest. It is both the oldest mosque in Africa and has the world's first minaret. The colosseum at El Jem is fantastic. I have seen the one in Rome, but this is better. Overall, an excellent tour.

The experience and the sites visited were very good. Our guide was top rate but, unfortunately, he was hamstrung by having to deliver the tour in three languages. I feel that this 'short-changed' all those taking part in the trip, as well as putting him under great pressure.

The only thing that I would have liked was more time at the Coliseum as for us that was definitely the highlight. Our tour guide was absolutely incredible and beyond helpful. He deserves a massive accolade as does our driver too!!

The whole day worked out really well. It felt honest and real ... our guide (Hammad?) was informative but not overly so. He was very personable and approachable and allowed us the time to explore each site for an appropriate amount of time. As a group, we were punctual which Hammad set up clearly and reinforced well throughout the day. All in all, it was a really good day and highly recommended

Very interesting tour but maybe the Pools of Kirouan are not worth visiting for any length of time. We had plenty of time for the Coluseum at El Jem but would have liked more time at the mosaic museum. Our guide, Mohammed, was fantastic. Very interesting and friendly. His personal insights into life in Tunisia made the trip even better.

Friendly driver, despite a slight mishap with a gate post T one of the hotels that was mere rust held together by paint as it was. But a minor blip (it was back in its upright state by end of day drop offs) Guide was polite friendly and knowledgeable. Previous reviews comment on the repetition but alas this chap spoke no less than 4/5 languages and did the tour in English and I think he was brilliant. Called me by name which showed attentiveness. 10/10

Door een protest van inwoners werd een doorgaande weg door een stad geblokkeerd, waarbij de uitgangswegen voor en achter de bus werden geblokkeerd met spullen en er vele jongeren intimiderend rondom de bus gingen staan en schreeuwen. Verder: de excursie zelf is leuk (wel te veel voor wat je krijgt; je bent voornamelijk aan het rijden), moskee mooi, lunch niet speciaal en in een sfeerloze zaal (kippenhok), museum sprak ons niet aan, colloseum indrukwekkend

Absolutely brilliant trip. We had the best day with our tour guide Hamedi (very sorry if spelled wrong ) He was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of information combined with entertaining jokes. I feel like we managed to see a great amount of Tunisia for one day. Learned a lot and had some lovely food .

We really enjoyed the museum of mosaics and the Amphitheatre - they were fabulous. It was interesting to see the mosques. The trip was long, however I felt that we would have appreciated more time in and around the Amphitheatre and a little longer at lunch. The trip advertising lunch being included felt misleading as we needed to buy a drink - increasing the tour cost and including a drink would have been better. The trip isn't very suitable for children. Sometimes our guides accent was unclear.

The trip to El Jem organized by TUI was very pleasant, largely thanks to our wonderful guide, Mohamed. Despite the tour taking longer than expected and returning to the hotel at 6 PM, it was definitely worth it. The beautiful historical sites of Tunisia are a must-see.

Yet again late in leaving, the Tour Guide was very indifferent and never offered his name or bid us a good morning. As we were leaving a very loud and aggressive argument erupted between the Guide and whoever was at the other end of the phone. (2 x pax were not collected). The whole saga was very off-putting. Again, we rushed around and this time we had 3 languages. The Guide came across as very rude and aggressive at times. Lunch was very poor and did not reflect the money we paid for.

Cheaper than similar trips on TripAdvisor. Tariq, our driver was on time for pickup and was pleasant, courteous and informative of pickups-we had to meet some over travellers from Sousse. Driving time was approximately 2-2.5 hours. Our guide Mohammed showed us all the sites and was very knowledgeable even providing detailed explanation while travelling, fortunately as we all spoke English, there was no need for multiple translations. Mohammed even advised us to shop were the locals shop.

The trip was good, but there was a lady in a wheelchair in our group, and when we arrived at El Jem colosseum, a steep slope had to be navigated for her to enter. The guide had already entered so it was down to the goodwill of others to help. She was given an alternative, more suitable way to exit, but I felt the guide should have been aware so he could have arranged this upon entry.

It wasn't really the guides fault that we were not too happy. He just had too many languages to translate into so he didn't have time to tell us much. Also the was some inefficiency with the busses where we kept having to change our buses. I counted 5 total.

The timings were good with time to feel the atmosphere, it was a shame we were not admitted to the Mosque as we have see many interiors before.

We saw some amazing sights. The mosques were interesting, the mosaic museum was a real treat and the coliseum was amazing. It was just a little rushed at times which is understandable but it was a really hot day and a lot of time spent on the coach. There are lots of buses all doing the trip on the same day so it's a race to get between the attractions before the competition! The guide was great but listening to everything in 3 languages meant he talked constantly. Maybe single language trips?

The places visited on the tour were wonderful, and guide very knowledgeable. The restaurant chosen for dinner was average and the food was poor. An 8 hour trip turned into 12 hours, many spent on the coach due to the large number of hotel pick ups and drop off's (far too many, and this needs to be addressed)

Too much time on bus. Guide good but waffled. Lunch awful - chaos at hotel buffet, we had to pay extra for water or soft drinks. No explanation for what we needed to do and it wasn't nice - we had upset stomach after eating here. We were herded in and it was unsettling as everyone was crammed in. El Jem was the highlight - amazing. everything else - not worth it. Bus was late. I wish they just did El Jem - too many hotels to drop off, too 2hrs to do all the hotels. Pay more guides - less hotels

To see El Jem, it was worth it. However, be prepared to spend what feels like the whole day on the bus. Our hotel was the Magic Venus Beach - and from there to the first stop was almost 2hrs. This is a long time when you have kids. BUT - if you know this and come prepared - the trip is absolutely worth it. We visited mausoleums, for me as an adult I enjoyed - boring for my boys 10 and 12, although they did enjoy and didn't moan. Lunch was awful buffet ********** and chaos, you pay for drinks

This experience is well worth completing. All the locations are worth seeing. El Jem coliseum is something not to miss. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Lunch was above the normal standard for these tours.

A fantastic trip enjoyed by myself and my family. My two young girls (8 and 9) loved the experience as much as me and my wife. El Jem was definitely the highlight, just wow, didn't even know this was in Tunisia until after we booked our holiday and looked into days out, why is this advertised more! Only down fall was the short amount of time at El Jem. That said, wouldn't of been able to experience the other amazing parts of the trip. Tour guide was Brilliant, very knowledgeable.

A great day. Ilias the guide was brilliant, informative, friendly and looked after everyone. Buffet lunch was good. The Great Mosque at Kairouan was well worth a visit. Great history and a fantastic experience. The amphitheater at El Jem was just WOW. Enough free time to explore the underground chambers, which housed the animals and gladiators, and then a long climb to the top floor for an awesome view down into the arena. An absolute must do trip. Nearly 2000 years of history in one day.

Didnt know how many stops w were going to do. would rather skip one of the mosques as we went to 2 and have more time at the colosseum. we only had 20 mins there which is not enough as we felt we were running around it to see it all, before rushing back to the bus. The colosseum was the main attraction for us and really wanted to explore and just felt too rushed at fitting too much in. All of the places were lovely though and kids loved it (11,13) Guide was amazing and knowelgable

Great day out seeing the mosque and roman amphitheatre, our guide Muhammad was brilliant, very knowledgeable, with good English an sense of humour. The mosaics in the small museum blow you away with their beauty. If anything let's the trip down it is the high pressure carpet and rug sales at the mosque stop, which is OK if you really want to buy but a waste if not.

Kairouan was a bit dull, a brief view from the building's terrace of the Aghlabid basins, the intricate stucco and wall ceramics of The Mausoleum of Sidi Sahab and the courtyard of the Great Mosque of Sidi-Uqba. The guide was very well prepared, told interesting stories and spoke in 3 languages. The second part of the tour, El Jem, which we started with a tasty lunch, was a completely different story. The beautiful mosaics in the local museum and the monumental colosseum made a huge impression.

A great day out. So much to see with a knowledgeable tour guide and excellent coach driver. The origins and history of the water treatment plant, mausoleum and mosque were amazing. The architecture and construction of El Jem colloseum is incredible. Well worth the very reasonable cost of a full day out which also included lunch.

Great Guide and Tour!!!! Very informative trip. Enjoyed every second of it. The only downside was the pick up time from our hotel. As we were the 1st hotel on the list, we could not have breakfast.The pick up time could have been pushed back a little, even by 20 minutes. But definately recommend the trip. Worth seeing all these beautiful places

A very long very hot day! From Hammamet we had a small mini bus and then met up with large coach with people from Sousse. They waited 45 mins for us! The stop at a government building to look from the top was not needed. One Mosque visits could definitely be dropped to one. The Colosseum was fabulous but wished the trip was just to there and not padded out with all the other stuff including the rug sale. Lunch looked good but sadly unable to eat due to stomach problems!! ??

The places we visit were good . Our guide knowledgeable. We had sufficient time at each location. We stopped for lunch which was self service. Although the food was included we had to pay for drinks. We paid for the drinks and they automatically kept the change as a tip. A tip at a self service restaurant??

Mohammed the guide was sublime, offering a fantastic perspective on both the scheduled activities but also of Tunisia as a whole. Only thing to be improved (one I should imagine is tough!) is the pick-up service to start the day. Too many people not ready etc.. meaning the bus gets more and more delayed.

Our tour guide, Mohammed, was excellent. Very informative and he was able to answer every question given to him. He was clear from start to finish on the plan for the day and added fabulous context and information to the tour. It would have been great to spend more time at the colloseum after the long drive, which could be added.
