What to expect

This two-day Sahara adventure from Djerba blends desert landscapes, Berber culture and authentic village life across southern Tunisia. From ancient Ksours and palm-fringed oases to dunes stretching into the horizon, you’ll travel through some of the region’s most striking scenery before spending a night under the stars in a traditional desert camp.

Day one begins as you cross the Roman road from Djerba to the mainland, stopping first at the shimmering Chahbania Salt Lake for photos before continuing to Tataouine. What to remember

Know in advance:

The tour price is based on at least four participants. Other people may join you

The camel ride in the dunes lasts one hour and costs around 10€ per person

The quad ride takes about 40 minutes and costs about 30€ per person

Drinks are not included, but you can buy drinks on-site for a reasonable price (about 1€)

Eine Wüstenrtour mit Quad o.ä. zum Sonnenuntergang ist toll und sollte Teil des Paketes sein. Wenn man sie nicht bucht, sitzt man die Zeit sonst nur rum und sonst kann man an den Zelten sich nichts machen.

Mehr Informationen im Vorfeld bzgl. Fahrzeug und Unterkunft/Strom etc. wären hilfreich gewesen. Der Guide hätte uns z. B. bei der Verpflegung vorher erzählen können, was es zu essen gibt, ob es eine Vorspeise gibt usw. Im Camp gab es auch keine Infos bzgl. Getränkeversorgung.

The guide Zezoo was very knowledgeable and friendly. His English was excellent which made the trip interesting and good fun. The trip was very good value for money and we particularly enjoyed the quad bikes in the desert. The driver Kalad was a very good driver and very courteous. He made sure we got out of the car safely and that we had all our belongings.

Es war ein traumhaftes Erlebnis. Es kam nie Langeweile auf. Unser Reiseleiter (Ahmed) war sehr herzlich, freundlich und es war immer gute Stimmung. Die Fahrer der Reise waren ebenfalls sehr zuvorkommend. Wir würden jeder Zeit dieses Erlebnis wieder buchen. Wenn man die Kultur näher kennen lernen möchte und hautnah dabei sein mag, ist man hier an der perfekten Stelle. Das Trommeln, tanzen und Singen abends am Lagerfeuer war in der Sahara traumhaft und die freilebenden Kamele. Es war ein Traum!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit mit Samir und Boubaker. Samir hat uns auf der Reise viele interessierte Informationen über Land und Leute gegeben und sich viel Mühe gegeben, uns eine schöne Zeit zu bereiten. Im Juli und August ist es extrem heiß, daher die Empfehlung, den Ausflug im Frühling oder Herbst zu machen. In der Wüste kann man Quad fahren oder einen Ausritt mit dem Dromedar machen. Bitte an TUI: Preisliste aktualisieren (Quad: 40€, Dromedar: 15€). Insgesamt: volle Empfehlung!

Diese Tour wurde durch unseren sehr gut deutsch sprechenden Guide Samir ein besonderes Erlebnis. Wir wurden sehr pünktlich am Hotel abgeholt und sehr herzlich begrüßt. Da wir nur zu zweit mit dem Guide unterwegs waren, wurde der Programmablauf unsren Interessen angepasst. Die Übernachtung im Zelt in der Wüste und ein Dromedarritt bei einem Sandsturm in den Sonnenuntergang werden wir so schnell nicht mehr vergessen.
