What to expect

A natural masterpiece combines with ancient ruins for this full day tour. You'll head to Pamukkale – which means 'cotton castle' in Turkish – as well as the adjacent city of Hierapolis. Both are UNESCO-listed, so it's a two-for-one deal on Turkey's historical gems. Muzaffer, one of our local guides, says, ‘Pamukkale is like something out of a fairytale – a spectacle of terraces formed over thousands of years that look like a cascading snowy waterfall. Legend has it, the hot thermal springs here have healing properties'.On arrival, you'll stop by the Pam Hotel for a spot of lunch, before we make our way to the main event. A sight to behold, Pamukkale's natural springs solidified into chalk-white stalactites and cliffs long ago, resulting in a winter-like wonderland of petrified tiers and pools. People have bathed here for thousands of years, including Roman emperors. Follow in their footsteps and bathe in one of the thermal pools or simply make your way to the top and drink in the magnificent views.Next up is the ancient spa town of Hierapolis. You'll have free time to explore its well-preserved ruins, including ancient streets, a 13,000-seat theatre and the thermal baths – known as Cleopatra's pool due to her reputation of eternal youth. A dip is extra but well worth forking out for the experience of bathing in an oasis scattered with Roman artefacts. What's more, for every sale of this experience, there's a donation to CYDD, a charity that helps in the education of underprivileged children in Turkey.

Great

4.75 hours from leaving hotel to Pammukle far too long. Not our fault our hotel is first pick up and we should gave been told. Mixed language group is frustrating as have to listen over and over. Pamuklee, swim, Esra guide was excellent. Time to do what you bleeded to do. Lunch cold expensive drinks, disappointing. Mud bath fun.

Excellent

I liked it all very interesting and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Take extra cash for drinks ice cream and locker key . The locker will be useful for putting you bags as you need to walk about and not carry all you kit . 3 hour transfers to and from Rui blue was a bit much as ran out of money for drinks and got dehydrated. Over well worth the money though . ????????????

Great

Good excursion outsourced to local company but hugely overpriced. We should have booked directly with the local firm instead. Some margin can be understood, for 4 or 5 times the prices is complete rip off.

Great

It was a long day- 6.30am to 7.30pm, with quite a lot of time on the road. We transferred from a mini bus to the full size bus and the group was mixed UK and Dutch and Belgian- which meant the guide repeated everything in Dutch- tiring for him. Pamukkale was quite impressive in itself but the other historic building and sites within walking distance were more interesting, historically. The lunch (included) nearby in a hotel was adequate and we had access to the hotel pool and mud baths, great.

Great

Absolutely loved Ezra - really informative and helpful! We really enjoyed the excursion, Pamukkale is beautiful with so much to do. We felt the time we had was plentiful, allowed us to see everything we wanted and appreciated that we were left to our own devices to do everything at our own pace. I felt that lunch at the hotel wasn’t the best - none of the food was labelled and as vegetarians, we didn’t know what we could and couldn’t eat! Other than that, we loved this excursion!

Great
