What to expect
Holbox Island offers 36km of pristine white beaches washed by emerald-green seas. On this exclusive excursion, you'll discover spots like Isla Pasion on a private boat and enjoy lunch at a five-star eco-resort. There's also a golf buggy tour of the island to look forward to. Ariel, one of our local guides on this tour, says, ‘Holbox is a habitat for more than 300 endemic and migratory species. It's also something of a playground, with activities such as speedboats and beach buggies.'Board your boat at Chiquila – piloted by a local fisherman – and be whisked off on a two-hour coastal tour. Every other company uses the local ferry. Your guide will point out places known for their wildlife and explain what efforts are being made to preserve this habitat. And if you're doing the tour between June and September, you may be lucky enough to catch sight of the island's flamboyant flamingos. Plus, you'll discover the beauty of the secluded beaches of Isla Pasion and Punta Mosquito, before heading to the eco-resort for lunch followed by downtime on the sunloungers.Once your batteries are recharged, you'll hop into a golf buggy for some fun exploring the surrounding area. To round off your visit to the island, we'll make our way to Holbox's laidback main square for some free time – it's a great opportunity to pick up some souvenirs or sample local food. You'll then return by ferry to Chiquila and on to Cancun.

An sich ist die Insel wirklich sehr schön. Der Weg dorthin und zurück hat allerdings über zwei Stunden gedauert. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis finde ich persönlich etwas zu hoch. 100 Euro pro Person wären aus meiner Sicht angemessen – wir haben natürlich mehr bezahlt. Das fand ich etwas übertrieben. Der Reiseführer hat sich allerdings große Mühe gegeben – absolute Spitzenklasse, 1A!

I believe you do not need to stop for 30 mins on way to have a toilet break and eat a snack as the the snack can easily be given out on the minibus. . Toilet break reduced to 10 mins . There is scope to stay an extra hour on the island as after lunch felt rush . Did like the fact you take the boat back and not the ferry as in the past. The boat should be limited to 6/ 8 we had 14 and it was too cramped

Firstly we waited 40 mins to be collected from our hotel in the morning. There was no apology and the driver spoke little English. He said something about over sleeping. I was not informed on the overall timing and transfers. Transportation was poor. I was unable to eat and the lunch provided as there were not enough options and ended up going without. I do not feel I got my money’s worth and if it was possible would ask for a partial refund.

Loved the whole day very good value for money, was just unhappy we was made to get off the boat at mosito island in the sea meaning climbing back on the ladder. Some of our party were not happy about this was a struggle and a little degrading. Ticket stated suitable for walking difficulty no way would someone with walking difficulties be able to climb the ladder. We asked to stay on for the 45 mins but couldn’t as the crew where taking a break, please change disruption for further people

Bus zu klein für Teilnehmeranzahl, Ablauf wurde gut erklärt, aber wir haben kaum etwas verstanden, da wir zu weit weg saßen. Wir dachten wir können mit den Buggy’s die Insel erkunden und das nicht nur als kurzer Transport zum Essen nutzen. Mehr Freizeit in der Stadt wäre wünschenswert. Mehr Hintergrundinfos von unserem Guide zu den Inseln usw. Wäre schön gewesen.

The trip overall was great however the transportation really had an impact on the overall experience. We were picked up in a spacious 17 seater bus and then we were then moved to a much smaller bus at maximum capacity. The bus system needs some more thought as we kept stopping to swap guests around dependent on nationality You arrive on the island around 12pm then have an hour free to walk around but everyone was very hungry and lunch isn’t served til 1:30pm

Äußerst beengte Sitzverhältnisse im Bus, bei ungefähr 3 Stunden Fahrt. Wir sind leider im hinteren Teil des Busses gesessen, da wir mit als Letztes abgeholt wurden. Wir hatten keine Sicht nach Draußen bei einem Preis von 600 USD ( 3 Personen ) ! Sonst tolles Erlebnis mit sehr gutem Guide.

Both our bus driver and boat captain were amazing went the extra bit for us to see animals we wouldn't normally see, Colin our tour guide was beyond amazing going into lots of depth about the island where things are what you can do, how the birds survive answered all our questions in depth like he cares about his job and the wildlife 10/10 excursion for anyone wanting to see wildlife, nice beaches and how people live on a tiny island

The organisation of the day wasn’t the greatest, we were picked up in a van that was far too small for 19 grown adults and then swapped to a different van half way through. We were then taken to a random house in the middle of no where for refreshments (this wasn’t needed) Mosquito island was a pointless, just a beach, then paradise island I can imagine on a good month is beautiful, the seaweed spoilt it and the other half of the sea was disgusting. Would have preferred to go straight to holbox.

Ein schöner und recht entspannter Ausflug. Der Guide Martin war einfach genial. Er erklärte alles mit Geduld und einer besonderen prise Humor. Das Highlight war die Tour mit den Golfcarts quer durch die "Stadt". Zu empfehlen wären mehr Getränke an Board des Schiffes, da es doch recht heiß auf der Insel und am Badestop war. Oder man nimmt sich genügend Getränke mit.

The whole island and experience of Holbox was fabulous. Our guide Martin was extremely good, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The only slight problem was the mini bus seats were crammed in so tightly that there was very little leg room.

It was an excellent day trip I gave it 5 stars There was only one thing I would change which was a 45min stop to swim but the water was only waist deep so it was a 45 min paddle which could have been cut down to 20 mins then longer on the previous stop which was interesting or the island holbox itself

Le site était complètement envahi par la vase, l'eau cristalline était marron et ne sentait pas bon, ce qui n'a pas permis de profiter de la baignade. Outre cette problématique naturelle de la faute de personne, le trajet en voiture a été très remuant (roulait rapidement sur les creux et bosses), avec ce la musique à fond, ce qui ne permettait pas de se reposer). L'hôtel décevant, pas possible de reprendre des boissons autre que de l'eau, peu de chaises autour de la piscine (assis par terre)

Holbox est la seul activité que je recommande et qui vaut le coup d'être vécu et ont passe beaucoup de temps sur la route les repas laisses à désiré petits déjeuner inexistant avant le départ tôt le matin rien n'est prévue par l'hôtel qui ne mérite pas plus de 2 étoiles dans son ensemble la restauration reste passablement basic ont est pas presser d'aller au buffet quand ont y a gouter de plus les plage sont impraticable à cause des rochers et des algues . An extremely enjoyable full day trip (the trip lasted 12 hours - longer than advertised but worth it). It was a great way to explore Passion Island, Mosquito Beach and Holbox. Holbox has a unique Caribbean feel with it's colourful murals and buildings, sandy streets and golf buggys. It would be great if refreshments could be offered more frequently throughout the day. Rossi, our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helped make the tour a brilliant experience - mucho gracias!

Au vu du prix je m’attendais à beaucoup mieux, les transports ne sont pas du tout confortable que ce soit le van ou le bateau sans compter que nous avons dû changer de minibus en route à l’aller et au retour, le temps passer sur l’île est minime surtout que c’est l’objet de l’excursion et la voiturette ne nous est pas laissée afin de nous promener sur l’île

De tijd die je onderweg bent weegt niet echt op tegen de tijd die je daadwerkelijk op het eiland doorbrengt. De golfbuggy deel je met anderen, en je rijdt in een treintje achter elkaar aan. Wij hadden verwacht dat je zelf het eiland kon verkennen, maar dat is helaas niet zo. Verder is het eiland vooral heel stoffig en onrustig door de vele buggy’s en motoren die er rondrijden. Gezien de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding zou ik deze tour niet per se aanraden.

Bardzo fajna wycieczka ze swietnym lokalnym przewodnikiem. Plaza w Holbox jest naprawde bajeczna. W resorcie pyszne jedzenie i piekne kulisy. Na lodzi bylo bardzo wietrznie. Udalo sie nawet wypatrzyc delfiny. Wycieczka jest stosunkowo droga ale warto na nia pojechac by poczuc naprawde karaibski klimat.

I’m a solo female traveler also the only guest from Coba that went in the trip today. I felt very looked after, safe and secure. The tour guides were fantastic, all the stops were delightful, lunch and a swim at the hotel were spot on. I can’t fault this day at all, highly recommended!!

Journée extra. Pause à mi-chemin à l’aller trop courte. Guide très bien et captain du bateau très sympa. Dépaysant, on recommande. Point négatif: Bus inconfortable lorsque l’on se trouve à l’arrière. Pas de vue extérieur donc on ne profite pas du paysage mexicain.

Très belle excursion : cadre magnifique et dépaysant, activités chouettes (bateau, différents arrêts sur des îles, visite du "centre ville"), bon guide. Toutefois, excursion présentée comme une journée repos sur une île or le temps de passer sur différents sites, on ne reste sur l'île principale que 2h (+1h dans le centre). Le plus gros point faible, le temps de trajet : au total, 3h pour l'allée et 3h pour le retour, le temps de prendre / déposer chacun à son hôtel.

Holpoxin saari oli mielettömän hieno. Mutta petyimme siihen, että kun kuudelta aamulla lähdimme retkelle, seuraavaksi saatiin jotain suuhunpantavaa 13.00. Pois lukien yks muffinssi kahdeksalta aamulla. Se olisi tietysti ok jos tästä olisi mainittu jossain kohtaa varausta. Olisimme ottaneet jotain syötävää mukaan. Myös suosittelen miettimään useamman paikan, jossa ihmiset pääsevät vessaan. Haluan todella mennä Holboxiin uudestaan, koska tällä retkellä itse paikkaan tutustuminen jäi 40 minuuttiin

Globalement tout était bien sauf la place dans le bus et le confort des voiturettes de golf. Notre minibus était complet et la place pour les jambes manque. L'appuye tête aussi est absent et empêche de se poser. Les voiturettes de golfs ne sont pas faites pour garantir du confort par rapport aux trous de la route et les "dos d'ane". Cela nous a fait mal aux cervicales.

Wie immer bei TUI war die Organisation top. Holbox ist ein absolutes Muss. Es bleibt wieder die Kritik der Kleinbusse, die man für 2-Stunden Fahrten nicht einsetzen kann. Wenn Sie Ihre Kunden nicht an GetYourGuide verlieren wollen, müssen Sie sich in Zukunft was einfallen lassen.

Once we arrived at the boat for the trip to Holbox the day went very well, our guide was excellent and we had plenty of time at each stop to explore and enjoy the island. However the transfer was complicated by the need to stop and reorganise the mini buses to ensure each one contained guests of the same nationality/language which in turn relied on the mini buses all arriving at the same time. The impact was to add an extra hour to a two hour journey.

Très belle excursion tout était parfait le guide au top Le petit bémol était le repas rien d’exceptionnel on aurai préféré mangé au centre pour manger un repas typiquement mexicain et profiter un peu plus du centre

We visited holbox 5 yrs ago it was amazing. Now it's a dirty place Hotel for lunch was dirty and run down .looked like an hurricane has hit it and not a 5 star hotel . Best bit about this trip was the speed boat ride.would defo not recomend this trip to anyone. We paid £170.50 each for this trip and would like some refunded money thank you lynne richards rui yucatan.

The island where you stop is lovely. We didn't know about 2.5hr bus journey to the boat.The buggy tour is not around the island its only along the beach 10mins then to the resort for 2hr break then buggy back to drop off point. The guide wasn't very informative Although it beautiful scenery, wildlife it is not good value for money
