What to expect

This tour is designed to visit as many sights as possible in one day from Belfast City. You will have the chance to stop along the way to admire the 13th century ruins of Dunluce Castle. Perched on the edge of a sheer cliff you will have magnificent views of the the castle and a popular photo stop on the tour.Next, enjoy around 1.5 hours to marvel at the spectacular landscapes at the Giant's Causeway, made up of some 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. It has often been described as the 8th wonder of the world and you will see why once you have visited the place. According to mythology, Finn built the Causeway as stepping stones to cross the Irish Sea in order to battle Benandonner, a Scottish giant. Although a giant himself, when Finn reached Scotland he saw that Benandonner was almost twice his size, and immediately retreated with his rival in pursuit. Finn’s wife disguised him as a baby, and on seeing the child, Benandonner fled home fearing how enormous its father must be.You wil stop at the Dark Hedges, a key filming location for the hit TV series Game of Thrones, for 10-15 minutes. The trees were planted 270 years ago by the Stuart family as a driveway to their Gracehill Manor. It is now very well known to amateur photographers.Wonder through the trees and watch out for the "Grey Lady" that is rumoured to appear along the trees. The tour will continue along the famous coastal route and go through beautiful coastal towns like Ballycastle, where you will enjoy a fantastic view of islands just off the coast like Sheep Island, Rathlin Island and maybe even a glimpse of Scotland as you make your way back to Belfast.

Orte, die man besuchen sollte. Durch diese Tour kommt man auf den Geschmack, zeitlich freier ist man natürlich bei einer individuellen Reise. An den Dark Hedges war die Zeit zu knapp. Schade.
