Martina, one of our expert local guides, says ‘Originally built for an exhibition almost 100 years ago, Poble Espanyol is a ‘village' which is home to 117 replicas of some of Spain's most celebrated architectural gems. The onsite fine art museum has works by Picasso, Dalí and Miro on display, and lots of local artisans make and sell their handicrafts here.'After a look around Poble Espanyol, the next stop offers the chance to see the striking exterior of the Sagrada Familia, a church resembling a wave-worn sandcastle – the most famous legacy of legendary local architect Antoni Gaudi. Martina adds, ‘Construction began on the Sagrada Familia way back in 1882. The current estimated completion date is 2026 – meaning that the building will be completed 100 years after Gaudí died. I think he would be proud to see how well his ideas have been realised.'You'll then have plenty of free time to explore Barcelona under your own steam. Maybe take a stroll along the pedestrianised Las Ramblas and visit La Boqueria indoor market where you could opt to try some of the tasty treats on offer. A panoramic drive through Plaça Espanya and over Montjuïc Mountain, with its bird's-eye views of the city and waterfront, round off the day before heading back to base.

The coach journey was good and the guide was very informative. She had great knowledge of the city. But it was restricted to only 3 parts of the city, the Spanish Village, Holy Family Church and the port so it wasn't really a city tour as such. The guide described it as a snapshot kind of tour to give ideas where to visit if we go back to Barcelona, suggesting a weekend break would be the best form. Maybe drop 'city' tour and suggest specific tours of Barcelona?

The tour was priced at 49 euros each at the hotel , but as no tui rep turned up we had to book it online. This cost us £49 each which meant we paid over 18 euros extra for the trip , and it would not accept the promo code either. We were only allowed 45 minutes to see the famalia sagrada Church and only just over an hour to see poble espanol. This only allowed us just enough time to see the museum. It wasn't worth a few hours of free time as it took too long to get too and from pick up point.

Guide Vanessa was very knowledgeable about the sights. Wish we could have seen more of Barcelona but as we were told this was a taster as there is not enough time to see it all. Would be nice if you provided a Gaudi tour. That would be fantastic!

Fab guide and driver and was lovely to see sagrada familiar again. I've never done pobl espanyol and it was amazing! But to only habe one hour meant we literally rush walked around, saw no demonstrations and couldn't see it all. Shame as it was fantastic. Didn't see much if the famous city bar a modern shopping centre on way out which again was rushed. This trip needs separating into 2 so all can be enjoyed fully.

We enjoyed the Pablo Espanyol and thought it was the correct amount of time to be there. It reminded us of Port Merion. Also was amazed by the spectacular Familia and Mike had given us loads of info on it before we arrived so we knew what to look for. The Rambles was good and again we felt it was enough time to do as you would like. Overall a good taster of Barcelona and Mike and our driver were a good team and we learnt lots.

It was advertised with a focus on Poble Espanyol. But in reality from those 5 hours in Barcelona, we had only c40 minutes in Poble Espanyol, place where you can easily stay for 3 hours and enjoy. You get 1 hour, but you walk from and to the bus so they don’t leave without you. Next, was Segrada Familia, where you get 30 minutes to quickly walk around, in reality just 15 minutes. And then you get 2 hours next to the Aquarium, area we were not interested in. I felt rushed and stressed.

Poble Espanol was very good, though we couldn't visit the inside of the church. Sagrada Familia was also very good, but we were delayed by heavy traffic, so did not have so much time in the harbour area / Las Ramblas etc... Also did not experience the spectacular views from on high on the return journey, as promised in the synopsis. Guide and driver were very good.

I enjoyed all of it, it would have been nicer to have spend a little longer in Barcelona but it is as advertised, a whistle stop tour to highlight Spanish culture. I think it would have been better to see the Spanish village in the afternoon, most of the shops were closed when we attended. Our guide / driver though were fantastic, very informative

Therese, our guide was superb. Very informative and kept us entertained throughout the trip. Our driver, Jorge was calm and punctual. It was a long day and the coach was very stuffy and hot. The air conditioning didn’t seem to be working. I would have liked to have visited the Playa Espanyol at the end of the day as nothing was open when we went there in the morning. Seeing the Gaudi buildings was brilliant.

Salou is lovely,long sandy beach,lots of shops and restuarants.it was about 30 degrees when we went so a trip on the catamarran and the cool sea breeze was very welcome.the barcelone excursion was really nice,theresa the guide was full of knowledge about the city and surrounding towns.we stayed in the H10 salou princess and like all the H10s was immaculately clean and really nice and pleasant staff.

We were disappointed with the Poble Espanyol experience. It was our first stop on arrival in Barcelona. It was advertised as being a open air museum with craft shops/workshops and exhibits. It looked like a small village, it was very pretty. But most of the shops, all cafes, all workshops, and some of the exhibits, were closed. There was almost nothing to do there. Apart from that the trip was good and the guide was great, very friendly and informative.

The TUI guide, Michael, was friendly and informative of details for the excursion. The coach was very clean and driven well. It was great to see different parts of Barcelona, Poble de Espanyol, Sagrada Familia, which is amazing up close although busy at peak times, and have free time to rome after to go to the Aquarium ( separate ticket ), wander to Las Ramblas or just relax at a restaurant at the port.

Firstly I was expecting to see more of Barcelona, instead of stopping off at pobla espanyol, which I thought was the guides name on the ticket. I was looking forward to Gaudi park, pictures were shown on the advert to the tour but no mention of it all day, a lot walking from bus to attractions which I did not find necessary, I did enjoy small parts of the tour, but not quite what was expected.

The Rep Isabelle was very good, she had a really good knowledge of the city & area. Enjoyed the fact that we got to see gothic quarter by coach - it was a very hot day. Would recommend going to Las Ramblas in free time rather than port shopping centre.

As a family of 4, we had a wonderful holiday at the Othels Dorada Hotel in Salou. Rooms spotless, very friendly staff and cleaners. Food fantastic and an amazing selection to suit everyone. TUI staff most helpful with booking trips, always available near Reception at set times. Indoor pool and sauna lovely and the outdoor pool, though very busy was fine too. We will definitely be back in the future. 10 out of 10 from us.

Rep spoke too fast and pointed out things people at back of coach could not see, her enthusiasm was good but only seeing 3 places and having 2.5 hours of free time to do shopping really wasn't my thing, I thought the tour would show more of Barcelona and be more engaging than being spoken at. Really good as a quick starter to Barcelona.
