Avoid this experience at all costs The benefit of booking through a company should be to avoid being taken advantage of We were told the guide would arrange our gondola at a fee of 140 Euros When we arrived in Venice - we discovered all gondolas advertised as 90 Euros When we asked why such a difference there was no explanation given and no desire to resolve The speed boat transfer is far from private and far from a speed boat - standing room only / 27 mins late for pick up Tour ‘token’ at best!

It is a very early start and from the get go the guide on the bus was continually on the microphone almost all the way to Venice first telling us stuff in English then repeating in German. This became very annoying and after being up at 6am you just wanted some peace and quiet. The walking tour guide from the boat to rialto bridge was far too long, too repetitive, the guide had very bad body odour and again became very annoying as the length of the tour was too long

The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It would have been good to know the cost of the extras in advance and that they could only be paid in cash. The schedule was jam packed so not much time for leisurely exploring Venice if you chose to take part in more than one of the extras.

Great

Venice is a unique city and is certainly worth visiting once. However it was very crowded, even on a Thursday in June, and there are very few (free) places to sit down. However, the trip was interesting and well organised.
