What we expect

Opened in 2025, the Grand Egyptian Museum – or GEM, as it’s also known – is the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilisation. On this trip, you’ll wander among more than 100,000 artefacts, all shown off in a modern space that brings Egypt’s past to life. Just so you know, this tour will bring you to the Giza Pyramids, but if you want to access any of the three pyramids, you'll have to pay the entrance fees directly on-site (limited availability, tickets cannot be guaranteed)

Khufu costs about EGP 1,500 for adults and EGP 750 for kids under 12

Khafre and Menkaure cost about EGP 280 for adults and EGP 140 for kids under 12

Please bring your passport with a full Egypt visa sticker and not just the free Gulf of Aqaba stamp. You’ll need to purchase the full Egypt visa at the airport in Sharm

Before the tour date, you may want to arrange a takeaway breakfast box and a late dinner for your return with your hotel’s reception

It’s recommended to wear comfortable clothes (long trousers) and shoes. It’s also recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, suncream, a scarf, bottles of water and some extra cash for tipping and shopping

As it was Ramadam the guide decided to miss the shopping visit to Cairo in order to get to the museum in good time. This was understandable, but I would have enjoyed actually walking in the city to enjoy the atmosphere. However, the trip was very enjoyable.

Fantastic trip to pyramids and museum The dinner provided was excellent Personally the perfume shop wasnt needed by anyone in our group We did not participate in the cruise as we wer exhausted

Tour was exceptional guide was great felt safe Tour finished at 630 so had to wait in airport 3 hours to get back so earlier flight beck would have helped

Manal, (sorry, unsure of spelling??) Our guide was fantastic, so friendly, very knowlegable and fantastic with our young girls, keeping them engaged and smiling throughout, despite it being a long day. The trip was a great balance and good time allowance at both the pryamids and the museum. Lunch was slightly dissapointing (but possibly because we are spoilt here at coral bay!!). Limited choice and cold though. Overall a dantastic day making memories as a family - special thanks to Manal!

Waiting around at the airport for long periods of time could be improved on as we only had one small bag, why do we need to be at the airport for so long?

Unbeschreibliches Erlebnis! Alles klappte perfekt. Die Route (Pyramiden, Nil, Essen, Museum) war ideal bezüglich Hitze und Andrang. Wir fühlten uns stets top betreut. Ein großes Lob an Osama in Sharm El Sheikh für den super Empfang! Besonders danken wir unserem Guide Ibrahim in Kairo: Seine unaufgeregte Art, sein Organisationstalent und sein unfassbares Wissen über Geschichte und das Leben in Ägypten haben den Tag unvergesslich gemacht. Absolut empfehlenswert! Vielen Dank!

Flight to Cairo too early as when we arrived still no open so we had to pay for a river boat trip to used some time.

We loved how everything was taken care of and how knowledgeable our guide was. We also had security with us which allowed us to enjoy the pyramids without worrying about the vendors approaching. The Nile cruise we did was my highlight alongside the pyramids. The only improvement could be the lunch it was at a hotel which wasn’t the best.

A fantastic day better than we could have imagined made even better by our brilliant tour guide Habib. A very long day 22 hours not the 17 as stated and a 2.30am pick up not 4.00am but this is probably down to the airline. All in all a day we will never forget and well worth the very long day.
