Visit the House of the Black Heads, one of the most beautiful buildings in Riga. Travel through the centuries and explore the legacy of the Black Heads brotherhood.
It's right in this historical building in the middle of the Old Town where the historical brotherhood was established at the end of the 14th century, sharing the headquarters along with the existing merchants’ guild. The young and joyful foreign merchants united in the brotherhood organized splendid events, later becoming honorable members of the local community. There are no lockers. Coats can be left at the entrance but there is no surveillance. There's a note saying that they take no responsibility for our belongings, so I had to carry everything with myself

We entered the Blackheads and were greeted by a hostess that poured our glasses of sparking wine and directed us where to begin the tour. The self tour was enlightening. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Riga.

I found the check in process somewhat strange in that I had to show my booking email to the ticket lady who then took my phone and took a photo of my phone with her phone. Surely a QR code would be an easier process? Once “verified” we were given our fizz & a brief guide of the floors.V.interesting!
