What to remember

Accessibility:

Access to the building can be provided to wheelchair users should we be made aware in advance of your arrival. Please note that the hot springs are very difficult to access for wheelchair users due to the nature and landscape of the area

Not allowed:

Children under the age of 10 are not permitted at Hvammsvík Hot Springs
The use of mobile phones in the changing rooms is prohibited at all times
Smoking/vaping is not allowed anywhere on the property
Exit and re-entry to the pools is not permitted during the visit, hence guests who intend to visit the Bistro are advised to do so before entering the pools or after visiting the pools

Know in advance:

Children between the ages of 10 and 18 must be accompanied and supervised at all times by an adult over the age of 18
All guests must wear a swimsuit in the pool area at all times
Guests are welcome to bring their own towels and wading shoes, although both can be rented on site if needed
The venue reserves the right to refuse admission or ask guests to leave at any time. Please be respectful of other guests, staff and nature. A zero-tolerance policy applies to verbal and physical abuse, and excessive noise should be avoided
Please inform the staff of any pre-existing medical conditions before entering the area. The hot springs are approximately 39 degrees Celsius, though temperatures vary slightly. Some pools get cold depending on the tide, and the springs are surrounded by the cold Atlantic Ocean. Outside temperatures and weather conditions vary
Surfaces may be wet and slippery. Mind your step and hold the handrails. Stay on designated paths
Please drink responsibly. The venue reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear intoxicated. The legal drinking age in Iceland is 20 years old, and alcohol will not be served to anyone under this age. Age verification may be requested upon arrival
If you are unable to swim please notify the local operator in advance of your arrival. There is a limited number of floating vests available for guests should this be required
All guests must wash without swimsuits before entering the lagoon. Soap and shampoo are provided in the showers
Guests must follow instructions from staff when offered
Water fountains are available on the premises and guests are encouraged to drink water to avoid dehydration
Please keep the dry areas in the changing room dry and dry yourself with a towel after showering
Lockers are provided for storage whilst enjoying the hot springs. Guests are responsible for their belongings during their visit to the premises and Hvammsvík takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items
The venue cannot assume responsibility for debris or foreign objects in the ocean. Wading shoes are recommended for protection and can be rented at reception or brought from home
