What we expect

In 1881, Pablo Picasso, the most important artist of the 20th century, was born at No. 15 Plaza de la Merced. Declared an Artistic-Historical Monument of National Interest in 1983, the Birthplace and Museum started out on the first floor, and now occupies the whole of the building. Since 2005, there is also another exhibition room at No. 13 of this same square.

During its existence, Picasso´s Birthplace Museum has compiled a collection of works of art featuring over four thousand pieces by over 200 different artists. These include Picasso’s sketchbooks in preparation for 'Las señoritas de Aviñón', the only sketchbooks...

What to remember

Know in advance:

People under 18 years old can enter for free. Free tickets can be requested at the ticket office

Persons with disabilities can enter the museum free of charge. The person accompanying them may also enter the museum free of charge, provided that their presence is essential for the visitor to be able to enjoy the visit.

On the day of your visit, you must exchange your printed voucher for your combined tickets at the ticket office

24th and 31st of December opening times are 09.30am to 02.30pm

Every Sunday free entrance from 4pm (except 24th and 31st of December if fall on this day)

La explicación en audio guía. Comentar q una de las audio guías tenía alterada la numeración y había q ir probando hasta dar con el q correspondía. Se lo indicamos al personal al dejarla en recepción.

Nosotros viajamos de chile, 13 mil km y visitar la casa de Picasso es motivante y esperado.. pero en la recepción la persona muy apática displicente y sin entregar toda l información necesaria, afortunadamente una persona que estaba dentro nos orientó y permitió que la visita no fuera decepcionante

Nett mal gesehen zu haben. Schlecht, das der Eintritt an dem Tag kostenlos war und online trotzdem die Tickets angeboten wurden ( offizielle Seite). Die zum Trost im Karton angebotene Tasse war kaputt .....
