You'll start the tour being picked up from your hotel or accommodation in Sarlat or its vicinity where you'll meet your expert guide, who will go over the itinerary and program of this small group private half day tour with you as you begin to make your way to some of the most beautiful French villages that are located in the Lot / Quercy region located close to Sarlat in the upper Dordogne Valley.

You'll begin by visiting Carennac village. On the banks of the Dordogne, Renaissance houses with sculpted windows and brown roofs are clustered around an 11C Cluniac priory where French writer and prelate Fénelon once lived. Near the Romanesque church and its cloister, the Château des Doyens invites you to discover the treasures of this Pays d’Art et d’Histoire-labelled region to which Carennac belongs. During the visit, your guide will certainly point out the remarkable tympanum of the local church. After some free time, you'll move towards the next village. As you do, your guide will certainly point out the many mighty castles that line the valley or the bastide a fortified medieval village with their rectangular city plan characteristic.

Then reach the breath-taking village of Collonges la Rouge. Entirely built with red sandstone, the village is classified as one of the most beautiful of France. Many of these houses date back to the 15th century and a stroll through the narrow streets of the village will certainly have you admire the tympanum of Saint Peter's church or the house of the mermaid. Here, you will enjoy a walking tour in the village and some more free time. After the tour, you'll begin your journey back to Sarlat.
